Out next week from Billboard.biz. Nice rock run in the '90s, we'll see if they still have it. Have not heard this yet.

They had a nice run in the 90s eh? I can't say I've ever heard of this Todd you speak of and his big head along with his monsters.

Ha, you would ask! Without checking Nielsen, I know Broken Hearted Savior and Bittersweet were both top ten hits, with Bittersweet reaching #1 on Mainstream airplay. Don't think they ever hit Modern though. I'm pretty sure Todd, or someone else in the band as a Columbine alum.

"Broken Hearted Savior" is the only song of theirs I'm familiar with. "Resignation Superman" actually hit Modern, according to allmusic.

About as great a band name as Crash Test Dummies, Hootie and the Blowfish & Toad the Wet Sprocket. I could compile a long list of rather strange sounding 90's college rock band names.

Crash Test Dummies was already a trademarked name, I didn't see anything funny about that. But Blowfish and Sprocket would make the list. Along with Lemonheads despite being a candy already.

Porno For Pyros and Chumbawamba all came from that era also. Even Goo Goo Dolls is a little too sticky for me.

I guess I should throw in Deep Blue Something if that fits in with the rest.

It's fascinating how long Big Head Todd and the Monsters remained the only Colorado based-band to have a Platinum album ("Sister Sweetly").............but shortly after the turn of the millennium, since then, quite a few Colorado-based bands have enjoyed mass success, most notably the Fray and OneRepublic, who have both enjoyed Platinum albums, and others like 3OH!3 enjoying massive single successes.
It would be nice to hear them receive considerable play at least on Triple A again. They've had quite a few stellar cuts ignored by radio since their commercial heights.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Please Don't Tell Her" as it is the one song I am familiar with (heard a couple '00's singles here and there though) and I still hear it quite often without the aid of my own efforts. On the other hand, I'm also surprised this discussion is taking place here in the Alternative forum in 2010.
