... and the beat goes on... Over the past year, Power 106 in L.A. has lost nearly 25% of it's listeners... sliding from a 4.7 to a 3.6 rating and going from 1st to 6th in the market.... Are people finally sharting to tire of the CHR/Urban/Rap sound??? Could be... I also don't think it's helping manners for them at all that CHR/Pop KIIS-FM 102.7 is now leaning more CHR/Urban than true CHR/Pop than it probably EVER has... of course, long term this will probably hurt KIIS I think... Anyone else care to discuss or try to figure out what has happened to the station that had been so dominant in the L.A. market for so long??? BTW, if you want to see the ratings, go to this link: www.radioandrecords.com/RRRatings/

There's a lot of drama going on at this particular station...and for a West Coast station not to be showing love for the West Coast that says a lot about the station and politics and things of that nature. They show no support for the artists along the West Coast with the exception of Snoop and Game.

I think they aren't playing enough different music. I have listened to the station for years & I have noticed that more and more, they play a lot of songs ("Shake", "Oh I Think They Like Me", among others) and I think the lack of music from acts like Dr. Dre & Snoop has made people change their listening to a more diverse sounding station.

Hmmm.... not playing enough different music... sounds all too familiar in this market... KIIS ("CHR/Pop") and KYSR (Star 98.7) have VERY narrow playlists too... At least JACK FM and Country KZLA actually give their listeners the luxury of some variety...

I don't know much about KDAY... all I know is I'm enjoying the siide... now we just need to get KIIS to do the same thing and then hopefully they will stop trying to sound like Power used to sound and try to sound more like KIIS used to sound...

I'm kind of surprised this isn't generating more interest... shows you how far this one-time market leader has fallen... no one really seems to have a passion for this station...

Is the reggaeton played more during the night or day? If they indeed are playing a lot of reggaeton, I think Emmis isn't making the right direction.

Emmis and Clear Channel don't seem to know what they are doing right now (at least in this market)...

And the slide goes on... now at a 3.5 which lands them at #8 in the market. A year ago at this time, it was at a 4.9. 29% of it's listeners have been lost over the past year... that's a big chunk.

The Beat in LA is sliding also because of the Lost of Steve Harvey, they even tried to get Big Boy to join them.

^^ It appears the CHR/Rhythmic format as a whole is sliding at least in L.A...... Power has gone from a 4.7 to a 3.3... that's 30% of it's listeners!!!
