"Eminem also naturally makes big news on the Digital Songs chart with his "Recovery" collaboration with Rihanna, titled "Love the Way You Lie." It debuts at No. 1 with 338,000 downloads sold. It's the sixth time the rapper has topped the Digital Songs chart and the second time he's done it this year, following "Not Afraid's" entry atop the list back in May with 379,000."
Lower than I expected. Almost the same as last week's Cali Girls #'s, lower than Not Afraid's debut. I guess if it does go #1 eventually it might take awhile to catch up with Katy, who I'm guessing ties Right Round for 4 weeks at 300k+.
Irrelevant, but I don't know what thread it should go into, so, Forbes' most powerful musicians: 2. Beyonce $87, 4. Gaga 62; 1 in Web/Social, 4 in Press 6. Brit 64; 2 Social/3 Web 7. U2 130, 10. Madonna 58; 3 Press/4 Web 12. Taylor 45 #3 Social, #8 Web/TV/Radio 13. Miley 48, 15. Jay-Z 63, 16. BEP 48, 17. Springsteen 70, 27. Pink 44, 35. Coldplay 48, 38. ACDC 114, 40. JoBros 35.5, 54. Kenny Chesney 50, 62. Rascal Flatts, 67. Toby Keith, 68. Diddy 30, 74. Wayne 20, 76. Keith Urban, 80. Akon 21

I think the key will be to see how that holds up. I don't know if it will ever hit #1 with the way california girls is going. can't believe that.

And LOL @ "no repeat workdays"- those times have changed! That all changed in the mid 90s. I recall waking up sometime in 1996 and realizing how slow top 40 had become, and getting quite depressed about it. Thought it was a trend - little did I know it was the future!

Lower than I expected. Almost the same as last week's Cali Girls #'s, lower than Not Afraid's debut. When "No Afraid" was released, Eminem didn't have an album out.. when LTWYL was released to Itunes he did. Katy's album hasn't been released yet either and if she releases her 2nd single along with her album to Itunes, it will probably sell less than what CG sold its first week too.

Snoop Dogg on an Adult Contemporary station? Who would have thunk it? haha. They probably edit out the Snoop part though.

Well you do have to remember though that rap's been around for a while now. There will definitely come a time when rap appeals to the age group that AC caters to.

Yeah all these songs with rent-a-rappers, the "Adult Contemporary" versions edit the rap out. I've heard "Down" by Jay Sean without the rap on an AC station.

Bad Romance falls out, Lady A's out of T20, and IGF may finally leave soon as it moves 43-49. Tik Tok & Telephone may exit soon too. Change is in the air.
Love the Way You Lie moves 66-34 in airplay.

^ its not official but in for the kill could be next
hopefully IGF can hang on. i think it will round and round and no love should fall beneath it. misery might depending on how sales go this week. WWFM and TT could fall under it and even possibly Tik Tok. theres also not a lot of competition rising the charts that could knock IGF down/

^Yah- "I Gotta Feeling" extending its impressive stay- it's possible some of the tracks debuting ahead of it this week could tumble below it. What's especially impressive is that it's still performing equally well in airplay and sales (#47 airplay/#49 sales)- a true airplay and sales smash.
Good to see Pink landing another Hot 100 hit this week. :) "Shark in the Water" inches up three spots- wonder how close it is to the top 75 airplay? I remember hearing that track when it was a free iTunes single, before it started catching on in sales and such. Good track.
