Snoop Dogg on an Adult Contemporary station? Who would have thunk it? haha. They probably edit out the Snoop part though. Yeah on my Hot AC station they edit Snoop out so it's just instrumental. This is the version they play: I actually like both :)

I just hope "Love The Way You Lie" doesnt only get as high as #2 like "Without Me" and "Smack That" did. Eminem deserves 2 #1 hits from the same album.

www.billboard.com/#/column/chartbeat/ask-billboard-madonna-vs-lady-gaga-1004102123.storySince Nielsen SoundScan data was not launched until 1991, we can't fairly compare Madonna's sales to Lady Gaga's. We can, however, look at their Billboard chart performances in their first 23 months after each artist's Hot 100 debut, since that's how long Lady Gaga has been impacting the chart. Madonna first reached the Hot 100 dated Oct. 29, 1983, and Lady Gaga, Aug. 16, 2008: Billboard Hot 100Madonna: 8 entries, 7 top 10s, 2 No. 1s (and 2 Gold titles, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Lady Gaga: 10 entries, 7 top 10s, 2 No. 1s (and 4 Platinum titles, according to the RIAA) Billboard 200Madonna: 2 entries, 2 top 10s, 1 No. 1 Lady Gaga: 2 entries, 2 top 10s Dance/Club Play Songs (comparing each artist's first 26 months, since Lady Gaga first charted on the list dated May 3, 2008) Madonna: 5 entries, 5 top 10s, 3 No. 1s Lady Gaga: 8 entries, 8 top 10s, 7 No. 1s Adult ContemporaryMadonna: 7 entries, 2 top 10s Lady Gaga: 5 entries Thus, in this strict comparison of charted titles, Madonna and Lady Gaga line up extremely similarly approximately two years into each artist's careers, especially on the Hot 100. At that checkpoint, each singer shows seven top 10s and two No. 1s. Madonna's Billboard 200 ledger is more impressive, having banked a No. 1 with her second set, "Like a Virgin," as is her early Adult Contemporary crossover appeal. Conversely, on Dance/Club Play Songs, Lady Gaga's first two years-plus clearly outshine Madonna's, in terms of chart visits and top 10s (8-5 in each category) and No. 1s (7-3). Only time well tell if Lady Gaga's career can continue to evolve along that of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-enshrined Madonna, now counting 28 years since first putting her iconic stamp on pop music and culture. Like Madonna, Lady Gaga writes her own material and possesses a unique sense of flare, so it's certainly possible that such a successful future could be in store. Check back around 2036 and we'll have a better idea.

Digital sales may have reached their peak- the year-to-year increase is tiny. But maybe "I Gotta Feeling" will be the one to cross 10 million. :)
I gather that for the above comparison in Dance/Club Play, they started with Madge's "Everybody," which reached the dance chart almost a year before she had her first Hot 100 entry with "Holiday."

The peak was inevitable.
CDs saw it, digital is seeing it now.
CDs jumped in the 80s and 90s when the format was new and everyone converted all their cassettes and LPs over to CD (this of course came to an eventual end)
The rapid rise of digital may have been due to the downloading of those long-lost songs that had been previously hard to find.
The current hits still see big numbers but the overall is in decline (as people may have found all thier long-lost songs by now)

When I first got into iTunes, I went back and bought a lot of old songs, and obviously I don't do that anymore, and just buy new songs or albums as they come out.

They should lower the price of individual songs to 99 cents, 1.29 is much less attractive to a buyer, and I think sales would see an increase again once people noticed they were getting a discount from the previous price

If they kept the price it's because it probably turned out to be more profetable for them. There's no point in losing money just in order to sell a few more units.

There was a point, a few years back where it would cost up to 4 dollars to purchase a single.
$1.29 for a new song is still a heck of deal
Many older songs are still 99 cents by the way

I worked at Camelot music when I was like 16 in 1995.

singles haven't been 99 cents since the 80s
The point of this post is not to argue how much a single cost in the 90s (I stated "up to 4 dollars" anyway)
Discarding the 99 cent figure that you posted, everything you listed is higher than 1.29
