My understanding is that it won't affect his standing with AT40, but not signing with Clear Channel could spell the end of his morning show at Kiss FM in Los Angeles. If he signs with CBS, could he possibly go over to Amp Radio? If you do, what do you do with Carson Daly?

Well, the big money would be found taking over Oprah's talk show, so of course he'd leave his syndicated show, and possibly AT40, to focus on that if that opportunity arose. Though he already has so much on his plate that I could see him staying on AT40 regardless.
I've never seen any hard data, though, comparing the ratings or popularity of American Top 40 with Seacrest against Casey Kasem regarding whether the current incarnation is more or less successful than Casey's. I'm inclined to think that the ratings are probably the same market-to-market and wouldn't even be a factor in the final equation, but I know less about this than others, I'm sure.

I really hope Ryan ends up leaving AT40. He changed the show from a good chart show to a news/gossip show with music in between. Though, if he goes, I hope that the replacement is better than him, as in, the replacement knows that the show is about a chart.

It's become a four-hour version of 'Entertainment Tonight'.
He's not about to leave KIIS-FM; he's the key reason, as well as a lot more adult-friendly music at top 40 radio over the past 3-4 years, that their ratings are the best they've enjoyed since Taylor Swift was in diapers!
Clear Channel would do everything in their power to keep him there, and he really has no reason to leave.
