Iglesias' single may be a fluke, and won't carry over to album sales- at least that's how it's looking going by the projected sales. Ricky Martin, while no wonder, was better than he, but...
When is the next BIG release?

Rick Ross supposedly drops July 20th and his last three albums have debut #1. But i just don't think this one is going to sell as well opening week. Then again i didnt think his last one would either. I think he could be Eminem's biggest hurdle for a 5th week at #1 assuming he holds off Korn in the 4th Week. As long as Love The Way You Lie is getting more airplay and stuff i think the album drops will be low the next two weeks for Em after this one.
If he's predicted to do 200-225 this week then probably 180-200 next week and 160-180 the following. Even if say that's off i think they will be at least over 130K weeks.
Here is what Rick Ross did the first week for his previous three albums.
Port of Miami - The album was released on August 8, 2006, and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with over 187,000 copies sold in the first week released
Trilla - debuts at No. 1. The set sold 198,000 units in the United States
Deeper Than Rap - The album debuted at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, selling 158,000 copies its first week.
So i could be wrong on this but I think Recovery will sell more that week. It could be really close though.

not an entirely horrible drop for Miley It sure is It may still be top ten, but a 70% second week drop when you only debuted with 100k to begin with is dismal, especially for Miley.

Does DMX hold the record for males? I know Britney/Alicia hold it for females and Beyonce is salivating now that SuBo snatched Alicia's wig off last December for her to enter at #2 and one of Britney's entered at #2. I hope it doesn't become that anyone can just beat those records because they are quite a feat. I'd rather Eminem, Usher, Nelly or someone that has solid appeal hold those kind of records

yup, slw84, DMX does hold the record for consecutive #1 debuts. Rick Ross coming close to the record (potentially even breaking it) doesn't seem "right," you know? I mean, of all the people who could hold such a notable chart record... Rick Ross?

Rick Ross is one of the biggest artists for Def Jam. Not only are all three of his albums #1 debuts, they all went Gold as well. Pretty impressive for a mainstream rap act who has never had one CHR hit in four years. The leaks from the Teflon Don so far are head bangers too, and I'm expecting a good 100-120K first week from this one. At least.

ok WOW at EM 190,274 already. Yeah but basically it also could only be a 30K for the last 60%. They may have did all the major outlets first and stuff like that. Still it is really good.

ok WOW at EM 190,274 already. He's projected to have an impressively minor second-to-third week decline possibly as low as 15%. That is simply remarkable in this kind of economic climate, especially coming off a blockbuster debut. I have no doubt "Recovery" will wind up between triple and quadruple platinum status by the end of its chart run, especially considering it hasn't been buoyed by a holiday shopping season...........well-surpassing my initial predictions of the album eclipsing "Relapse" sales-wise but by only a modest margin. lol at Eminem completely Anihilating That Cunts Drake sales..Em is looking at Triple Platinum quite soon and Drake is struggling to Go Platinum while he had 3 more singles and all the Hype in the world..He was basically the new Wayne and meant to sell over 800 000 first week.
Whiteboy basically dropped 1 single and wiped Drakes buzz of the earth.
Drake is a failed new hype! And whats worse is that dude is falling off big time.
And On top of that, Eminem selling like crazy worldwide...Mediatraffic tells me that boy is going nuts while Drake is pushing 100 000 outside USA with struggle..
Seriosuly..I think Eminem can Tweet about his album coming in 2 days and sell at least 250 000 with just 1 tweet.
Iamgine that, 250 000 firsrt week and all he had to do was Tweet Once.
Drake has been quiet as hell...

Just Imagine nExt singles as 25 To Life/No Love When Wayne comes from Jail etc.
25 To Life WIll prob be next single...Eminem is refering to Hiphop and how it has treated him. This song will blow up huge!
Yeah, Boy is definatly lookin at 3-4x Platinum in USA alone, and maybe few Millie Worldwide..
In a few years in future Recovery will ship over 10 million of this as well...In 5-6 years.
Imagine, Dude dropped 5th album will 1 single and it wasnt even on Urrban adds and sold nearly 5 million in a short Time.
Rappers with Heavily Promoted Debuts cannot achieve that....
If Em dont retire he can easily come close to selling 200 million worldwide..Hasnt he already sold around 100 million?
With a few albums and over the years of catalog sales/shipments worldwide, boy can approach The GOAT status of the best selling rapper and even artist of all time.
I bet all these Clown rappers like Rick Ross/Plies/Game lookin at it like "Man how do I sell like that?"
And its funny becoz Plies was a nurse/Rick Ross was a Correction Officer/Game was on Change of heart etc...
Most rappers are joke! And why do we even mention any of them? They are The Dream status!

The big record for DMX was that it was his his FIRST five albums to debut at no. 1. Eminem peaked at no.2 out of the gate with the Slim Shady LP. Rick Ross needs to take his next three albums to number one to break DMX's record. By comparison, Whitney Houston holds the record for consecutive #1 Hot 100 singles, with seven, while Mariah Carey holds the record for consecutive debut #1 singles with five.

Mariah also scored 5 consecutive #1s twice (even though that's because Forever and Butterfly were radio only singles).

I mean, of all the people who could hold such a notable chart record... Rick Ross? Ah........Eminem has 6 Straight #1 Albums. MMLP, TES, Encore, Curtain Call, Relapse, and Recovery. I'm referring to the record for consecutive #1 studio albums, starting with the debut. Eminem's first album debuted at #2, so for the purpose of this record he has zero. I apologize for being very unclear.
