As for the song, I absolutely LOVE IT! The lyrics are gonna raise some eyebrows, yet her delivery is so sweet & almost vulnerable! This won't do as well as California Gurls, but I definitely expect a "Waking Up In Vegas" run...

Kinda boring. Maybe it's a grower but the first day I heard the songs blowing up the charts right now - Cali Girls, Love the Way, Dynamite, DJ's Got Me - I was like, "ooh." Still haven't found a summer song to absolutely love, though the closest is Cali Girls...

That would be really weird if they want a good peak for the debut.
Listened to it again, didn't help. But with Katy the less I like the song the more I like the video...when's that coming out?

IMO this could smash like 'I kissed a girl'/ 'Hot 'n cold' in Europe..... unlike CG  you guys crack me up. this will easily fare worse than the major singles she's had before, no doubt about it. it's not really about opinion or actual taste, but the sheer fact that "teenage dream" simply isn't a sing-along-tune. stuff like that just doesn't work over here. well, i'm not saying it will flop completely as katy's got the whole marketing machine behind her. but it surely won't catch on the way her previous songs did. |

I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit on first listen. It's a really simple melody but effective. This should be another big hit for her. I have high hopes for her album this time around. Her singles from her last era were strong but the album itself was rather weak. Hop

omg finally!! I love it!  I don't think it has the strongest chorus, but it's catchy enough. I love the lyrics, the bridge, the vocals, the end, the production. lol. I love when she sings in that higher register at the beginning. Something about it keeps reminding me of New Radicals "You Get What You Give". yeah I totally get that. |

OMG I love this! IMO this is 100x better than California Gurls. I can totally imagine hearing this song on the radio during a hot summer day late at night and just relaxing.

I think this could debut inside the top 50 with first day airplay. I wouldn't say that it debuts any higher than 35 considering the chart week ends on Sunday night.

Because I hate being at the bottom (of the page)  I literally can't fathom how someone couldn't love this. It's such a sweet message, has great production, and Katy sounds amazing. I think I love this more than California Gurls. Katy has entered my top 3 females.
