No, I wasn't, I thought it was going to pull a Halo and be a slow climber. I guess it looks like I'm wrong. I think the momentum from CG will allow this song to quickly. However, if it doesn't catch on enough, then it will fall even quicker.

Damn. This song is for real. It's ah-mazing. I can't stop listening! If Katy gave me a chance, I'd let her put her hands on me in my skintight jeans.

now that i think about it since its released on a friday maybe it could have a pretty bad debut on the hot 100 like 85-100 and then next week have a huge jump and it can be one of the record holders for biggest jump on the hot 100 heres the current list:
97-1 (96 positions) — Kelly Clarkson — "My Life Would Suck Without You" (February 7, 2009) 96-1 (95 positions) — Britney Spears — "Womanizer" (October 25, 2008) 94-3 (91 positions) — Beyoncé and Shakira — "Beautiful Liar" (April 7, 2007) 95-7 (88 positions) — Akon featuring Eminem — "Smack That" (October 14, 2006) 100-15 (85 positions) — A. R. Rahman and Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger — "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" (March 14, 2009) 96-11 (85 positions) - Carrie Underwood - "Cowboy Casanova" (October 10, 2009) 86-4 (82 positions) — Zac Efron, Drew Seeley and Vanessa Anne Hudgens — "Breaking Free" (February 11, 2006) 93-12 (81 positions) — Matchbox Twenty — "How Far We've Come" (September 22, 2007) 100-20 (80 positions) — Glee Cast — "Poker Face" (June 12, 2010) 84-5 (79 positions) — Fergie — "London Bridge" (August 12, 2006) 80-1 (79 positions) — T.I. featuring Rihanna — "Live Your Life" (October 18, 2008)

Nothing special. Very average and boring. But I like it, not sure if this will be big.

this is on iTunes already. Imho it's a little early, but then again CG was put on iTunes like the day after it leaked. *goes to listen* damn her i this it's so catchy and it definitely picks up where CG left off it's like a mid-tempo counterpart , did Dr. Luke & Benny Blanco produce this too? I was beginning to wonder if she was doing the iTunes Countdown thing and I just found out she is. As soon as I get more money put in my account, I'll get these songs. Yes, I believe the same people that wrote/produced CG wrote/produced this, too. Now that I've given this another listen, I hope that this is just a plain album track in comparison to the other songs to come in about a month. However I do enjoy it and am positive it'll sound fantastic on radio (according to my post from yesterday, by catching the last half of it, it sounded pretty awesome :) ).

So addicted. The moment I woke up I had to hear this song because I am that addicted to it. Nothing else compares today! I'm sure the initial feeling will wear off, but I am so excited for this album, and I was never really a huge Katy Perry fan before CG and this. Wahoooo

I changed my mind about this. I love it. Saying that, I doubt this will debut at #1. Yeah, California Gurls is huge right now, but it was also tailor-made for the summer pop radio climate. I would love to eat my words but I don't see this surpassing or even matching everybody's expectations as far as debut numbers/chart positions go.

It sounds like a lot of her other records musically. Don't get me wrong, I love the song. But it isn't anything different or groundbreaking, especially when it is compared to the rest of her catalogue. It fits right in.

i think it's kinda groundbreaking. Not in the sense of the pop climate, but in my own mind, i guess. I don't think i've ever heard a song that grew on me soooo much like this one has, not even Madonna! Every note hits home. It's just a grandslam imo. Bullseye!!!

On first listen, this is just a'ight. Sounds like a grower. Not sure if it is #1 material though, the hook is kind of weak. It sounds more like a 4th or 5th single then a follow-up to a smash first single, but it's OK and should do well and hopefully will grow on me.
I think this might perform similarly to Pink's Sober. Not a #1 but still a good run with longevity.
