Agreed. So suggestive but I like it.

Sorry to say it but Peacock is absolutely terrible. Sounds like a bad Ke$ha leftover. Does she think she's clever adding a 'pea' to the world cock and repeating it 50 times? Come on Katy, you can do better than that.

What is that on her waist..? No, "Peacock" kinda sucks. But "Teenage Dream" has grown on me. That's probably the best I've heard from her.

I hope the rest of her album is better. from the girl who released "IKAG" as her debut? is there something wrong with having a pointless, fun song on a record these days? Sure it sounds very Ke$ha esque, but it's not like the whole record is like that. ET, and Teenage dream are evidence enough that she's still got substance.

You expected more from Katy? What made you expect that? Was it when she wrote Ur So Gay and I Kissed A Girl? Is it that she's good friends with Kesha, 3OH!3 and Pink? Was it the suggestive lines in California Gurls? I'm really curious as to why it's so "shocking" that Katy wrote a song about wanting to see some guys "peacock".
I fucking love Peacock. JAM!!

I don't think it's shocking, I just think it sucks and is a big let down to hear after falling in love with Teenage Dream

Well it's not like every song can be like TD. A little variety is not going to kill anyone, and it's nice to know she's not taking herself or her music too seriously *coughgagacough*

IKAG and Ur So Gay had sort of original interesting concepts and clever delivery, even tho i didn't really like either song. this is a whole song just saying "show me your dick" but using the word Peacock instead. it's lazy and cheap imo.

Because Teenage Dream is amazing? Lol. It's got some cute lyrics to it, but I still don't see what's so amazing about it. IMO, it was a huge letdown after loving Cali Gurls. Peacock is so much more fun than this song. It's a cute tune, but the chorus is so weak.

^ Clearly it's just about taste, cause I prefer Teenage Dream to Cali Gorlz too.

Teenage Dream actually has some substance to it, Peacock just sounds like she's trying to be 'shocking' and imitate Ke$ha. The melody isn't even that good.
And I'm not saying variety is bad. Teenage Dream is different than California Gurls and I like both songs. I just don't like Peacock.

Although I kinda like Peacock, I honestly don't believe it should be a single b/c I have a feeling that the remaining songs on the album will be much better (not CG-huge, but mabe close). Won't be mad if it becomes one, though; awesome beat!

Teenage Dream is different than California Gurls and I like both songs. I just don't like Peacock. Katy came before Kesha and Kesha was hardly the first to talk about so bluntly about sex in pop music. Teenage Dream may have more substance, but it doesn't make it a better song to me. I find the melody of TD to be boring. The only part I love is the bridge and end of the song. I think Peacock is fun and I would rather jam to it than a song I only listen to just so I can hear the end.

I realize that, but Peacock just has a very Ke$ha-like sound to me. Like Chris pointed out, it shares a lot of similarities with Blah Blah Blah and the obvious 'peacock' pun sounds like something she would write. Katy's lyrics, even when they're dirty, have always been a little bit more clever to me then LET ME SEE UR PEACOCK!

Why does a song have to be about love/grief/inspiration/etc to have "substance" and be "quality"? I think that's one of the most ridiculous ideas that continues to be perpetuated on this forum. Mindless fun has just as much of a place in music as anything else.
Edit: Not actually directed at anyone in particular, just something I've always wanted to address.

Katy has her songs with clever lyrics, but she's always had songs that just weren't all that clever lyrically.
I also do not hear Blah Blah Blah in this at all. If I did, I wouldn't be in love with it. I was never a huge fan of BBB.

It always bugs me when songs that are just fun and mindless are slammed because they're not deep or clever. I don't think this song needed to be clever. It is what it is. A mindlessly fun song about wanting to see some cock.

I do agree wholeheartedly that "Peacock" is basically BBB part two (with a bit more melody), but that's no matter to me. I loved BBB!

I think the Peacock discussion should be dropped til we hear the actual studio version. It could sound 1,000 times better in studio form.

The way I see it the studio can only make it hotter. :)

This song is so insanely catchy. I see it having a good amount of longevity if they don't push out another single... Guess it depends on how fast it gets to the top. Looks like it's following a similar path as CG, which means it won't be much longer until we see it soar into the top 10.
As for the song itself... I'm not crazy about the verses. The breathy quality she keeps throughout doesn't do much for me. That post-hook (or whatever it's called lol) in the second chorus (I might get your heart racing...) is probably my favorite part. Great segue into the bridge + belted note.
Definitely prefer this to CG. No question.

The lyrics sound fine to me but the live performance sounds crappy because I can't hear ANYTHING.
