Love the album cover. It matches the title perfectly. I do think they should have included her name on it, though - IMO, she isn't quite ubiquitous enough yet to pull off a cover featuring only her photo (especially a non-close-up) and no text. agree with you compleltey love the cover except i think there should be words on it. |

The album cover being a frame of the CG video is so lazy. LOL Would be lazy if it were true. This was a painting done by someone, and Katy was wearing a wig in CG video while on the cloud. So this isn't a still, and hardly lazy since someone took the time to paint this. Didn't know it was allegedly a painting. And now that you mentioned, I checked back, and it looks better with the wig. |

It's not like Fantasy Ride bad or anything, I just happen to not like it. It looks like a record cover from 1970, which maybe she as going for? Either way I've liked the promo shots, even the CG cover waaaaay more than this.

The album cover is absolutely gorgeous, and I really think that the lack of text and letting the artwork tell it all was a fabulous idea. It really does symbolize a teenage dream perfectly. I'm absolutely in love with the art direction this era.
In other news, hoping this leaks in HQ soon so I can get my stan on.

The artwork alone route is something a lot of classic rock albums went with back in the day and many are considered 'iconic' covers now; partly for the music and also for the cover itself. I'm sensing they are going for a simple but 'iconic' approach with this whole era. The first single is a ubiquitous anthem so they have a lot of leeway at this point. |
