Seems like Taylor is trying to cater to both the confessional-folksy-pop crowd(Speak Now,Innocent) as well as the country music listeners(Mine,Back To December) with this album.
Whatever the style though,I like it!
SPEAK NOW PHOTOSHOOT
The photos look like they will be amazing.

That clip sounds really good! On first listen, it reminds me a little of "The Way I Loved You."

01. I love the cover. She looks f**king gorgeous. Although when I first downloaded it the artwork was just the Taylor Swift logo--had to delete it and then click "Get cover art" to get the actual artwork. 02. She sounds great. 03. Some of the lyrics are a bit iffy ("I miss your tan skin") but overall they're above average. Upon closer analysis the lyrics are perfect. 04. Really like it overall. I know it'll grow on me even more the more I listen.

Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
I’m so glad you made time to see me How’s life, tell me how’s your family I haven’t seen them in awhile You’ve been good, busier than ever Small talk, work and the weather Your guard is up and I know why Because the last time you saw me is still burned in the back of your mind You gave me roses, and I left them there to die
(CHORUS)
So this is me swallowing my pride Standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night And I go back to December all the time It turns out freedom ain’t nothing but missing you Wishing I’d realized what I had when you were mine I’d go back to December turn around and make it all right. I’d go back to December all the time.
(VERSE 2)
These days, I haven’t been sleeping Staying up late playing back myself leaving When you’re birthday passed, and I didn’t call And I think about summer all the beautiful times I watched you laughing from the passenger side, and I realized I loved you in the fall And then the cold came, the dark days when fear crept into my mind You gave me all your love, and all I gave you was goodbye
(CHORUS)
So this is me swallowing my pride Standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night And I go back to December all the time It turns out freedom ain’t nothing but missing you Wishing I’d realized what I had when you were mine I’d go back to December turn around and change my own mind I’d go back to December all the time
(BRIDGE)
I miss your tan skin, Your sweet smile, So good to me, so right And how you held me in your arms that September night The first time you ever saw me cry Maybe this is wishful thinking, Probably myself dreaming, (?) But if you loved again, I swear I’d love you right I’d go back in time and change it, but I can’t So if the chain is on your door, I understand
(CHORUS)
But this is me swallowing my pride Standing in front of you saying I’m sorry for that night And I go back to December all the time It turns out freedom ain’t nothing but missing you Wishing I’d realized what I had when you were mine I’d go back to December turn around and make it all right I’d go back to December turn around and change my own mind I’d go back to December all the time. All the time.

Love it. Kind of reminds me of something that would have been on Taylor Swift. The strings are awesome, and I can't wait to hear the other songs with them.
Taylor does sound great... and the way she can craft a song is crazy. Anyone think the reference to September night in the bridge is the VMAs? Probably safe to say yes.

Ugh. I love it. It really gives insight into their relationship (I always thought they were friends, not together).

Eh. I think it's the worst we've heard thus far. And, lyrically speaking the second verse & bridge read kinda...funky. IDK, I think it might be a little too preoccupied with being an apology to Taylor Lautner.
The cover is f**king gorgeous, tho. She sounds great too.

Absolutely gorgeous (the song and cover). She has yet to take a misstep this era, imo.

It sounds...... very boring for me. So far, I only like Speak Now among all the songs released. Can't seem to "connect"/relate to her new songs, maybe because they're too personal/detailed. P.S. So is she hoping for a 2nd chance with Lautner?

Absolutely gorgeous (the song and cover). She has yet to take a misstep this era, imo. Ditto. I'm five for five so far this era ("Mine", "Speak Now", "Back To December", "Innocent", and "Sparks Fly"). I haven't heard the final versions of two of those songs, obviously, but if they're anything close to the live versions (which I am sure they are) they're both absolutely fantastic.

The clip did not do this song justice in any way. It is a really good song, especially for a ballad, as I am a much bigger fan of her uptempos.
I prefer "Speak Now", but i think this is the big ballad single from this record. Probably the next single. Good tune.

I don't think this will sell as well as "Speak Now", just for the simple fact that it's a ballad. However, reaching that top spot again would be fantastic!
"Back To December" now #63 on iTunes.

I still think they are going to save the best songs for the album release date, making me want to hear the entire album more! It's only been on itunes for a few hours, it will sell a lot more by tomorrow.

I love it. I wouldn't say my favorite off the new album so far because I'm obsessing over Mine lately. But it's a really good song.
Also, I think the line in the lyrics goes: Probably mindless dreaming

Another factor: a lot of fans are pledging to go cold turkey from the pre-releases until the actual album drop date(go figure).
They had to hear Speak Now since it's the title track and Mine was inescapable but they're refraining from buying the rest of the pre-releases since they want the entire album to be "fresh" when they get it on Oct 25.
