Eminem saves the song to a wide degree by delivering a powerful rapid-fire final verse, but it doesn't change how uneven the track sounds and I don't think it would be a hit if released, despite the name power of both artists.

Interestingly enough, among the remaining tracks featuring guest vocals, it's the Who-In-Blue-Blazes-Is-This-Guy? (Kobe), NOT Pink or Lil Wayne tracks, that is the only one I see achieving mass airplay.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if "No Love" receives unsolicited airplay simply because it features two of rap's most prominent rappers.

Yeah, I love the Pink Chorus but it's not a huge part of the song. Though I think the main thing that is making Love The Way You Lie a Hit and why "Won't Back Down" wouldnt be is Em's verses.

When you compare the Pink and Rihanna chorus they are not much different in terms of length of chorus. Won't back down is just way more explicit in Em's verses. While some could argue Em's verses are Darker in "Love The Way You Lie" then "Won't back down" they still are not as explicit. I mean watching Em perform Won't Back Down on Fallon a while back was a chore. All the beeps here and beeps there.


I mean I can see how maybe No Love could become big when the sample and it being two big time rappers i just don't see it. But assuming LTWYL hit's #1 after two #1 singles in a row i think Em might just stick to the plan and release No Love as a single. If it blow up great, if not, oh well.

But Talkin' 2 Myself would be huge? #1 Huge? Idk. Because a lot of it would depend on digital sales. But do i think that could be top 10? Absolutely.

Frankly, I also think the song's production keeps it from being radio-friendly at all. It's just a very militant fight song that I believe is more intended as an album track that attempts to stand out and make the rest of the album not feel like filler (I consider "Almost Famous", "So Bad" and "Seduction" the filler duds) that so happens to feature P!nk because...............well............she's known for standing for herself and fighting and not backing down.

I hope if a DJ Khalil-produced cut gets released as a single, it's "Talkin' 2 Myself", which is by far the most radio-friendly of his four contributions anyway. "25 to Life" is also quite a strong track (why isn't the female vocalist on that track and "Almost Famous" credited as a featured artist?) and I think would do reasonably well as a single. I don't much care for "No Love" despite Eminem's valiant effort, and "Almost Famous" is a dud.

This week the Eminem and Rihanna duet, "Love The Way You Lie", is poised to knock summer smash "California Gurls" from it's 6 week #1 streek on the Hot 100 chart. With a whopping total of 2 entries ("Not Afraid" debuted at #1 & "Rude Boy" held it down for five), it sets both these artists off to a jump-start lead of most chart toppers in this very early new decade.

Eminem obtains his first back-to-back set of #1 singles and his first time having two singles hit the position from the same album. "Lie" is his 4th charting at the sumit of the Hot 100 chart in his record-breaking career. His current album, "Recovery", has topped the Billboard Top 200 for it's 4th week and is currently the fastest selling album of the year.

Rihanna collects her 7th #1 single, the most accumlated by any female artist since 1998. At 22 years of age, she is the youngest female artist to ever obtain seven number ones. Liz Rodrigues and Erik Alcock, performers in their own right, who have previously penned songs for rappers Pitbull and Slaughterhouse, conceived the lyrics and melody of choruses on three of Recovery’s 17 tracks — “Won’t Back Down,” “25 To Life” and “Almost Famous.”

They share lead vocals in the band The New Royales with Vancouver-based Chin Injeti (formerly of Bass is Base) and American producer DJ Khalil. It was Khalil, signed to the Aftermath label of Eminem spar and executive producer Dr. Dre, who paved the way to Eminem. He produced the tracks they wrote, as well as one other on Recovery.

“It is a big deal, how could it not be?” enthused Rodrigues, who also can be heard singing the recurring verses of “25 To Life” and “Almost Famous.” “To land on the album of somebody that respected as a writer . . . and people just love what he does.”

The 34-year-old songstress, who has a duet on Dan Hill’s current album, doesn’t mind that Eminem replaced her other demo vocals on “Won’t Back Down” with pop star Pink.

“I love hearing her on it, because there’s an edge that she has that gives it a little bit more of the powerful meaning behind it,” said Rodrigues of Pink’s interpretation of the lines — “You can sound the alarm/You can call out your guards/You can fence in your yard/You can pull all the cards/But I won’t back down.”

Alcock, 27, a proficient musician and member of indie quartet We Are the Take is stoked that “Won’t Back Down” retains the same guitar riffs he recorded on the demo in his Annex apartment using the GarageBand software application. In a phone interview with the Toronto Star, he lauded Eminem’s flow and declined to critique the profane, misogynistic “I’m a s--- stain on the underwear of life” rhymes the rapper wrote around the chorus, but conceded, “I wouldn’t make fun of Michael J. Fox” given the mockery of the Parkinson’s afflicted actor in the tune.

While “Almost Famous,” is about the challenges of being a public figure, Eminem goes for bravado — “I stick my d--- in this game like a rapist” — rather than vulnerability, which the songwriters imbue with the chorus.

“I think his expression, his interpretation is bang on for him,” said Rodrigues, whose “There Comes a Time” was recorded by Céline Dion in 2008. “It’s exactly who he is and what the hooks inspired him to write.”

She recalled coming up with the stanzas — “You dream of trading places/I have been changing faces” during a writing session in Los Angeles with Alcock, Injeti and Khalil.

“We were sitting around brainstorming and talking about being imprisoned by fame, like people like Eminem. We started to talk about having to change your appearance all the time and people wanting to be just like you all the time, but at the same time you’re trying to disguise who you are to not be noticed so you can have some kind of freedom.”

Basically the choruses were on these tracks when Eminem got them from DJ Khalil. They were like part of the beat or something like that from what i gather. So Liz Rodrigues was the one who was originally the singer on "Won't Back Down" but Eminem thought Pink would be better for the track. So if Liz is on the beat maybe that's why she wasnt credited on the album track. She is credited in the album as a writer.

But the song she was on for Slaughterhouse titled "The One" they were credited as The New Royales. It was produced by Khalil. Obviously the chorus in that track was written by Liz, Alcock, and Khalil. Maybe Eminem just didnt want to put Ft. The New Royales twice on the back of the case. idk.

On a related note, Eminem will join the rank of acts who have scored 10+ unique No. 1 hits in either the USA or UK (meaning, 10 different tracks to peak at No. 1 in either country- not counting the same track that hit No. 1 in both territories twice).

"Love the Way You Lie" is Eminem's fourth No. 1 on the Hot 100. Of course, only three acts (Elvis, the Beatles and Madonna) have racked up 10+ total No. 1 hits in both the USA and UK, with little chance that a fourth act will join them anytime soon.
