The new album is fantastic. I was never a huge fan outside of some of the singles. This album is very diverse and is a real album.

I don't like it...I get the abstract, but it's too abstract. There's nothing to guide an interpretation.

My Best Theory is that copious amounts of drugs went into the making of this video.

Bummer that this won't get to #1 on Alternative because of the timing...
In other news, it made top 10 on Billboard's Rock Chart this week.

I love the new album. Well I haven't heard an album from them that I haven't loved, but I would choose "Coffee & Cigarettes," "High Devotion," "Action Needs An Audience," and maybe "Heart Is Hard To Find" as future singles.

I really like Mixtape. But I find Evidence to be the obvious second single.

"Movielike," "Higher Devotion," and "Coffee and Cigarettes" would be my choices for subsequent singles. Love this album and have played it almost nonstop in my car since it came out. Amazing soundtrack for this fall, as pretty much all Jimmy Eat World albums have been in the past 9 years.
Listened to Chase This Light recently for comparison and I'd say this one whips it fairly easily. It's not that I was overwhelmed with new music in the fall of '07, after all. That one just wasn't quite as sharp, overall.

I dunno, for me it's hard to decide which one is better because Chase This Light has "Carry You", which is one of my favorite JEW songs now, and most of that album's top half is no slouch either. Neither of them touch Futures, but of the two, it's a toss-up for me.

I don't like it...I get the abstract, but it's too abstract. There's nothing to guide an interpretation. Just watched this, finally, for the first time and I have no interest in watching it again. Kinda wish they'd spent the money on something else instead. Not sure they're the kind of band that can pull off not appearing in their videos, either. It's not even like it's an arty, abstract song.
