To be honest, if you have good accountants and financial advisers, you can live off what you make as a teen star for the rest of your life. That is the funny and depressing part of it all. Hanson, Christina, etc are still rich as hell and never have to do anything successful again unless they are idiots with their money. Miley could probably BE an idiot with her money and still never run out of it. 3-4 years of work for a life's supply of money doesn't seem bad at all to me!!!!!

The only album i bought this week was B.o.B is new one. It was on sale for 7.99 at Best Buy. Figured i could go out and support him for just 8 and some change. Looks like we won't know what will be #1 till tomorrow. This could be like The Game/Slipknot situation a few years back. Would not be shock to see soundscan be different. Remember from a few years back. www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/archcht.cgi?cht309Slipknot took #1 on Billboard. This week is actually closer.

Yep. It's closer than HDD had with the Slipknot/Game thing a few years back where soundscan even did a recount. So it's going to be close.

36 39 CARRIE UNDERWOOD 19/ARISTA NASHVILLE 10,276 -10% PLAY ON Ouch, sales might fall below 10k next week. Time to re-energize the promo and start thinking about single #4 And there are rumblings about a re-release later this year, which I think is a good idea, it would push the album a fair bit over 2 million by year-end hopefully

Come on Soundscan! Have Eminem on Top! Even if he is not he will be #1 in the oncoming weeks. Are there many albums going to compete with this until late August?

wow, only a 3% drop? Eminem's sales (when accompanied by a radio hit) are always so consistent.

was anyone actually expecting her to sell well? she was a fluke with her last album (due to a huge hit, of which she has none this time around) anyway... She did a lot more promo and was a bit more visible than last time. But that alone cannot sell an album. At one of my other forums, many were citing that there's a bit of a backlash towards her as she had recently said and done a number of things which contradicted things she had said and done a while ago. And some feel that her aesthetic was contrived and calculated and now people see that and have turned against her. She had a performance the other night which was a total disaster and people had nothing but bad things to say.

HDD and SoundScan measure the same thing with different panels. Neither is definitive. Billboard uses Soundscan though. So while you are right that neither is definitive. You don't here The Game going around and saying "LAX was the HDD #1 Album." So the one more people concern themselves with are soundscan.

I'm surprised at how well hip hop is selling this year. Its been a much better year commercially and critically for the genre than what I thought it was gonna be. And some other big guns are still on their way. Kanye, TI, Young Jeezy, Nicki Minaj, and J Cole all still have records to be released by Q4.

HDD and SoundScan measure the same thing with different panels. Neither is definitive. Billboard uses Soundscan though. So while you are right that neither is definitive. You don't here The Game going around and saying "LAX was the HDD #1 Album." So the one more people concern themselves with are soundscan. Artists can say whatever, they don't really care about the difference when it comes to publicity. Soulja Boy told cameramen this week that "Pretty Boy Swag" was the number one song in the country. And to most people who hear that it doesn't matter. HDD, Soundscan...the general public doesn't give a crap about the difference. If Rick Ross fans want to say he has the number one album then there is a chart that backs up that claim. No reason to call people "idiots" and "dumb." This is why people call you a stan slicknick. When Billboard predicted last week that Rick Ross had the edge, you called them stupid too. Eminem's album will eventually fall from number one. That's how it works. It's been hugely successful and to have a fit when it does fall doesn't reflect well on you. I'm not trying to yell at you, but you seem upset when people call you a "stan" and I'm just saying comments like that are why.
