Listen to Tami Chynn's single "Hyperventilating" (Uses the Steps riddim, same as Sean Paul's 'We Be Burnin'): www.wild987.com/audio/ra/wildsplash06-tamichynnhook.ramShe's a white female reggae/dancehall artist who grew up in Jamaica, and this was a big hit for her there in 04/05. Not sure how being white may affect her, but I think this song will probably be big this year. I think this is going to be a pretty big hit for her. She will probably end up being one of those female reggae one-hit wonders. It seems we have one every year. Lumidee started the trend with "Never Leave" in 2003, then it was Nina Sky "Move Ya Body" in 2004, and last year it was Rihanna "Pon De Replay". I think Tami Chynn and "Hyperventilating" will take the torch for 2006 By the time people catch on to this and it really blows up all across the country, it will probably be summer.

This is an awesome club track. This will be everywhere. I think this will start off on just a few stations (just like it is right now) and then it will be on many of them.
Is there a music video to this song?

It doesn't really start to sound like reggae in terms of her vocals until like the second verse. It's not that bad though, I think it may grow on me over time.

This is great, but dancehall artists aren't making splashes like they once were and I think the trend has worn out. Sean Paul is a staple artist on the charts and this is why he is the only one left from the dancehall explosion making decent waves.

Why is it that the background track in this song is >exactly< the same as Sean Paul's 'We Be Burning' ?

^ cause they use the same riddim, a trend that is very popular in reggae and dancehall music

Never heard of her up until today ...until the Music Choice Hit List (CHR-Pop) station played her.

I can't wait for her CD. Everything I've heard from her I have liked. Is there going to be a video or any promotion for 'Looky Looky' (does she even have a cd coming out?)?

They were playing the video to this on FUSE today. It's ok...I guess. Nothing spectacular. You can watch the video at this site. umrg.com/artist.aspx?aid=539
