I think that "run-of-the-mill" quality is precisely WHY it does so well on recurrent. It seems most pop-oriented songs find their recurrent airplay on AC/Hot AC stations, and those stations tend to play fairly tame pop tracks.

Also, let's not forget it still stands as her biggest hit.

Yeah Just Dance is certainly NOT Gaga's biggest hit, unless you measure only by digital sales. Just Dance is still the highest digital seller only because it's been out the longest and was a popular single before Gaga had convinced anyone to purchase the album.

Just Dance is her biggest hit by:
-sales total
-chart peak (3 weeks at #1 to Poker Face's 1 week)
-recurrent airplay (I think Bad Romance is still too new to tell for sure how it will hold up)

Admittedly on all 3 it is *barely* ahead of Poker Face.

The only major metric where Just Dance isn't her biggest hit is airplay peak... where it's Paparazzi, which is her only song to hit #1 in airplay -- although Paparazzi is also the lowest-peaking of her Hot 100 hits.

From a "cultural" point of view I certainly think "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face" are going to be more remembered, but when it comes to chart stats they are not quite at Just Dance's level at the moment.

That will depend on Dynamite & Teenage Dreams. But if it can stay relatively close with digital sales then yes, if not then Dynamite will over take it

From a "cultural" point of view I certainly think "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face" are going to be more remembered, but when it comes to chart stats they are not quite at Just Dance's level at the moment.

I still think PF and BR were bigger. You shouldn't stick to charts that much.
Anyway, PF and BR were bigger on airplay charts and were staying at #2 on BH100 for ages. I think BR stayed at #2 on BH100 for 7 or 9 weeks and PF 7 weeks.

It's the biggest in sales, yes, but that's all. The chart peak reflects it's popularity on a given week, not overall (Bad Romance was arguably bigger than JD and maybe even bigger than PF, despite it's #2). In airplay, Paparazzi peaked the highest, but it had less Audience than some of her other singles (I think that JD, BR and PF all had a little more AI when they peaked). Recurrent airplay, yes it's surprisingly JD that held up the best. Don't get me wrong, I love the song and I don't get all the hate that it gets sometimes, but I would have expected PF and Paparazzi to have more AI than that one.
