When are they going to stop making these dumb albums Agreed. These albums aren't all that necessary anymore in the digital age.

As long as people are still buying them, they will keep making them.

When are they going to stop making these dumb albums They don't make them for you specifically. If you don't like them, you are not being forced to purchase them. Even if you think they are dumb, there are some people who will buy this. Agreed. These albums aren't all that necessary anymore in the digital age. Perhaps. Some people who still buy CDs might buy these comps. Since physical singles are so rarely released, IMO, these are a 'replacement' for them. Physical singles usually had the original or radio edit plus an instrumental or remix, or b-side and condensing about 18 to 20 singles from a particular period onto a comp like this is useful for that purpose. I still buy CDs and would purchase these comps if they were configured more like their European counterparts spanning across multiple genres and on 2 discs, often with like 40 songs.

When are they going to stop making these dumb albums Agreed. These albums aren't all that necessary anymore in the digital age. It's definitely a fair point but I think this series is generally more popular with the CD buyers, you know the Wal-Mart buying kind. They are selling quite a bit less than they did years prior but they are very consistent sellers. The last NOW! CD which came out in June is still selling well in the top 15 I think (?) which is quite impressive considering its relatively lackluster debut. However it does seem a bit saturated when they are releasing a new edition only two months later. I would think they'd wait until later in the Fall to take advantage of the healthier sales in that period

They are still selling like 500k units each, so why would they stop making them? They are selling more than some artists studio albums

I think they may as well keep going since if you have the first 35 volumes, why stop now? lol
Very happy to see Carrie's Undo It on this one.

I have all the Now CDs including all of the spin-offs and the Christmas ones to boot...I find them to be a perfect product for folks like me who don't like to buy whole CDs and just like singles...I don't know if there are many of us left!

yeah the continually sell 500k and some manage to go platnium i think there gold for helping the album industry They bring a really nice chunk of change to all artists that are on it. Keith Urban was heavily featured on some of these when he was starting to break out, and it did wonders for getting his music heard by people who wouldn't have known who he was. I think overall these compilations do a lot of good.

This new one was projected to do around 120k right? Quite an improvement over the previous one from just a few months ago, which I think did 80k-ish in its first week>?
I think people tend to buy more albums anyway once Summer winds down.
