^ I read that she was pissed at the air conditioning being to cold. She insists on performing in warm temperatures on her tours.

People Madonna Shouts Out Her Cousins She Hasn't Seen in Years at the Tampa Stop of the Celebration Tour By Sadie Bell
Published on April 5 people.com/madonna-shouts-out-cousins-tampa-florida-celebration-tour-8627808
The pop icon is currently in the midst of wrapping up the final U.S. dates of her acclaimed Celebration Tour Madonna is known for bringing her family along on tour, but some special guests stepped out to show their support at her concert in Tampa. When the pop icon, 65, brought her Celebration Tour to Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, on Thursday, April 4, she gave a shout-out to her cousins in the audience. Not only was the hitmaker excited that her relatives from her mother's side of the family were in attendance, she shared that it had been over two decades since she'd seen them. According to fan-recorded footage that was shared to YouTube, the Material Girl mentioned her cousins were watching the show while taking a moment on stage to reflect on the value of family. After speaking about her children and reflecting on her late mother, she said, "One other mention is that I have two cousins that are in the audience tonight." The seven-time Grammy winner continued, "I'm not pointing them out. I'm just saying that my mother is their aunt and I haven't seen them in, I don't know, 25 years maybe." "I hope that you enjoy seeing them tonight," Madonna added. The moment felt especially moving, given how the pop superstar has opened up over the years about how much her mother's death caused by breast cancer in 1963 when she was just 5 years old has affected her. Madge gave a nod to her relatives shortly after the portion of her show, which features tributes to her mom, Madonna Louise Ciccone and her son David's birth mother, among others, saying that it gives her "great pleasure" to see their faces on stage. "This part of the show, and this part of my life, is extremely important to me," she said. "Everything that I have ever done in my life is meaningless compared to be a mother. I'm not trying to sound corny or anything because it is a full-time job." After thanking her children David, Mercy, and twins Stella and Estere for performing every night during the tour, and noting how much she loves all of her kids (including the two eldest, Lourdes and Rocco, who don't join her out on the road), she continued to speak about how much family means to her. The "Hung Up" singer said, "So, thanks for talking about family and motherhood and love. Right? Because that's what it's all about. That's why I'm here. That's why I still have this job because I love what I do. And also because you have been supporting me for 40 years, so thank you. Thank you for your love and support for four f---ing decades. I do not take it for granted." She then broke into an acoustic performance of her 1989 classic "Express Yourself." Madonna's acclaimed, long-awaited Celebration Tour launched in October 2023 at London's O2 Arena with a spectacular two-hour set where she opened up about her road back to the stage following her hospitalization last year due to a serious bacterial infection. After the European leg of the tour, which lasted throughout the fall, she kicked off her shows in North American with several dates in New York City and Washington D.C. in December. Her tour resumed in early 2024 and is set to continue across the U.S. until April 15. At the end of the month, she'll take the show to Mexico City for five dates. The Celebration Tour will officially wrap up with a special, free concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 4 at Copacabana Beach. According to a press release, the historic show sponsored by Itaú Apresenta "will be free of charge as a thank you to her fans for celebration more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour."

^ enjoyed your reaction. Some friends of mine saw her at MSG. Interesting they thought the same thing as you. Wondering if it is her final curtain for tours? So happy the tour is getting raves and is collecting big at the box office.

billboard Producers of Madonna’s Historic Rio Concert Revealed Veteran promoters from North America and Brazil will collaborate on the show, which is aiming to draw 2 million fans to Copacabana Beach. Madonna's historic concert at Rio's Copacabana Beach on May 4 will be produced by her long-time promoter Arthur Fogel and legendary Brazilian producer and promoter Luiz Oscar Niemeyer, Live Nation officials have confirmed to Billboard. Fogel is one of the most accomplished concert and tour producers in the world and serves as the chairman of global touring at Live Nation, the world's largest concert promotion company. Fogel works with some of the world's biggest touring acts — a list that also includes Lady Gaga, U2, Beyoncé and Drake. Fogel will produce the concert on behalf of Madonna, while Niemeyer will work on behalf of the City of Rio and the various sponsors, including presenting sponsor Itau bank. The free Rio concert, which Visit Rio officials said is forecast to attract 2 million fans, will conclude the Queen of Pop's Celebration tour and cap off a career run that's netted around $1.5 billion in ticket sales over a dozen global tours, making her one of the highest grossing touring artists of time. www.billboard.com/business/touring/madonna-rio-de-janeiro-concert-producers-revealed-live-nation-1235642892/

The production is lush and I really love her restraint with the vocals on this. The video hits hard and may be too personal for many. I could almost feel her aching desperation.

CNN Madonna is revealing more about her near-death health scare By Marianne Garvey, CNN www.cnn.com/2024/03/06/entertainment/madonna-health-scare/index.htmlMadonna is talking about how serious her health emergency was last summer. She told the crowd at the opening of a five-night run for “The Celebration Tour” in Los Angeles that her doctor, Dr. David Agus, and more of her medical team were in the audience. “It was a strange thing to finally not feel like I was in control,” she said of the bacterial infection that landed her in the ICU last July. According to video shared of her remarks, Madonna continued, saying, “I have fallen off a lot of horses and broken a lot of bones. I have a titanium hip. I mean, the list goes on and on, but nothing can stop me.” Madonna, who has spoken about her recovery at times during previous tour performances, described her medical scare as a “near-death experience.” “I’m not kidding. It was pretty scary. Obviously, I didn’t know for four days, because I was in an induced coma. But when I woke up, the first word I said was ‘No.’ Anyway, that’s what my assistant tells me.” She added, “I’m pretty sure that God was saying to me, ‘Do you wanna come with us? You wanna come with me? You wanna go this way?’ And I said, ‘No. No. No!” She called Dr. Agus “a very special man in the audience tonight.” “He’s put up with so many entertaining phone calls from me. When I was sick this summer and I literally couldn’t walk from my bed to the toilet, I would call him every other day and ask him why I didn’t have any energy,” she said. “When was my energy gonna come back? When was I gonna feel myself again? When could I go back on tour again? When, when, when, when, when, when, when? And all he would say was, ‘Go outside in the sun.’” When she replied that her pristine skin was a result of staying out of the sun, Dr. Agus explained, “Go outside in the sun. You need vitamin D so your kidneys will keep working.” “And I hate the sun, but I did it anyways, and it was so hard for me to walk from my house to the backyard and sit in the sun,” Madonna said. “I know that sounds insane, but it was difficult, and I didn’t know when I could get up again and when I could be myself again and when I would have my energy back. It was a strange thing to finally not feel like I was in control. And that was my lesson to let go.” She concluded with a thanks to “everyone who’s here that took care of me and listened to all of my endless complaining and need for predictions that I could not have. You are patient and you are kind, and you still are. You still help me take care of everybody I know that’s sick. Thank you so much, wherever you are.” And finally with a thanks to her children, who “really helped me pull through, because they worked so hard and… I didn’t want to let them down.”
