‘The Prophecy’ has me in a chokehold today. The quality of her musical output this go around so far into her career is incomprehensible. "The Prophecy" was in my top five from the jump and still is. Maybe this can work. 😘

The Prophecy is one of my faves and a standout on this record. It’s a song that truly, truly wouldn’t be on any other album than this one.

Ooop. Definitely not a Prophecy fan, but, tbh, I don't even revisit the second half except for imgonnagetyouback, Robin, Black Dog, and The Manuscript (I don't even count the latter two because they are on my copy of the CD and vinyl, respectively.)
On a side note: I was at Target over the weekend and felt compelled to waste money purchase the CD too, after saying I would wait for her to drop a physical version of The Anthology. I just don't see that happening and either way, I don't really feel like I need to own the songs on Part II anyway. If those songs never existed, I wouldn't bat an eye. What she gave us on TTPD is PERFECT. I even fuck with Floridaaaaa!!! now omg.

I'm hoping someone will host a rankdown for the album. I think I'm ready to submit to an order of favs from it.

I was weak and I had $20 in Target Circle Rewards burning a hole in my pocket. SMH

The Black Dog is the only Anthology I can get into. There’s something there with I Look In People’s Windows, but it just goes nowhere and I’m left disappointed. Anthology would be one of my least favorite albums ever from such a main pop girl if that was the album.

“The Prophecy” getting her flowers as well she should!!! Love to see her getting praise.
“Robin” feels like the universe speaking to my childhood self, congratulating me on my trans journey. That song didn’t click for me until I viewed it from that perspective. The levee broke immediately and I WEPT. Such a healing song.

Also lol that the Charlie Puth streaming boost never happened… like at all. Best of luck to him in his future commercial success endeavors if Ms. Swift can’t do it for you….

"Florida!!!" grew on me too! At first it was one of my only skips, but I love it now. The only clunker on the first half to me remains "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)" 😬

Fresh Out the Slammer really needs a final chorus 😞 Agreed. Biggest wasted potential song on the album. Feels like she gave into Gen z tiktok ideology with that one for no apparent reason since she doesn’t really do that on the other 30 songs…

Subject to change, but I think this is my ranking. No bad song on the album. A are excellent, B are good, but missing a little something that propels you to an A, C are just okay, and wouldn't be upset if they were chopped.
A tier
1). So Long London 2). Guilty as Sin 3). Down Bad 4). Who's Afraid of Little Old Me 5). Smallest Man that Ever Lived 6) imgonnagetyouback 7).The Black Dog 8). But Daddy I Love Him 9). The Albatross 10). Peter 11). Fortnight 12). Fresh Out the Slammer 13). Chole or Sam 14). The Prophecy 15). Cassandra 16). The Bolter
B Tier
17). My Boy Only Breaks 18). loml 19). How Did It End 20). I Can Do It With A Broken Heart 21). Clara Bow 22). The Manuscript 23). ThanK you aIMee 24). I Hate It Here 25). So High School
C Tier
26). Florida 27). I Can Fix Him 28). Robin 29). The Alchemy 30). I Look In People's windows 31). Tortured Poets

The only clunker on the first half to me remains "I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)" 😬 Sistren, please get into that song. Her lower registry is so sexy and I love how old saloon country-coded it is. It deserves a video. Granted, it's also not my fave, but I wouldn't call it a clunker. Another amazing Taylor album to add to the big pile of great ones! Your positivity, without being argumentative towards other people who don't agree, is so refreshing and beautiful. Thank you, Unproblematic Queen!

That's what got me obsessed with "Cowboy Like Me"! Let me go try and get lost in its vibe and lyrics

Do we have any recent sales figures for Midnights? I’m only seeing stuff from a year ago.
Also curious about Lover which is still hanging around the BB 200 Top 10.

I don’t know how, but I just realised
“My beloved ghost and me sitting in a tree D-Y-I-N-G” is a play on “Taylor and Joe sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G”

Something not talked about enough is the absolute mastery of song craft in the hooks of these.
For how many songs there are, so many of these get stuck in your head *incredibly* quickly.
I know some people have some sonic critiques of this album (and actually, I do too), but my GOD it is not talked about enough just how expertly Taylor knows how to craft melodic hooks.
The hook currently stuck in my head is how she and Post linger on “move to Floooooooo” before completing it with “ri-DA!”, “by the caaaaaaar “ — all that tension, resolves to: “you-WANT!” God it’s an addicting melody.

Not doubting you at all, but I clicked the link and what I was shown didn’t have the pure sales total. How did you get that number, and is there pure sales totals for any other albums? (Asking because I like to track :). )
