I don't see how that interview changes much except reveals Beyonce's shadiness. Halo was still written before Already Gone, and so the latter is still a generic recycled sound of the former, not to mention Bleeding Love and Apologize.

Yes but he said he completely reworked Halo before Beyonce recorded it (because she requested it be similar to Already Gone). Had he not changed Halo to be similar to Already Gone there would be no comparisons at all because they are not alike at all lyrically. So in turn it wouldn't be "Already Gone copied Halo" it would be "Halo copied Already Gone." Either way both are amazing IMO. |

Now for the latest news on Halo/Already Gone. Now it appears Halo is Already Gone's clone.... Interesting info about all of this Halo vs Already Gone talk: The interview where this is said is supposed to be put up before too long. This was also posted: I'm calling BS on this one. If Beyonce wanted Halo out before Kelly's album dropped, she would've just released it as the first single before IIWAB. Any legit source for that? |

Halo and Already Gone have such different messages though...and dont sound the same except for maybe 5% of the time. I think this is just fanbases making a mountain out of a molehill.

It's tough. I think Halo has the much better production, but I'm a sucker for the emotion and heartbreak on Already Gone. Only time will tell for me.

I kills me to have to vote for Kelly over Beyonce but Kelly has the better song and delivers it very well. It's a very convincing song. Easily in my two top if not my #1 favorite Kelly C record.

Tedder praised both songs up & down, but that's just what he does. He is a producer after all, gotta hustle his mass produced assembly line creations so they make $$$.
Vis a vis chart performance, I'm pretty sure 'Halo' did better on the Hot 100, pop radio, digital sales, awards won (lol), more or less across the board besides Hot AC. Anyone have some receipts that show otherwise?

From awards to sales to radio airplay, there is no doubt that 'Halo' was more successful than 'Already Gone'. dbhmr requested the interview which indicated the song that Ryan Tedder preferred. |
