I want my own thread! With me restarting a more complete chart for the first time in about five years, I figured now was as good a time as any to give this personal chart thread thing a shot. My goal is to also post album reviews in here, but who knows if I'll actually have time to follow-through with that. Please feel free to post your thoughts, criticize, etc. :) CHART E2 - APRIL 14, 2014 - SUMMARYX Ambassadors score their second #1 on my personal chart this week. They are now 2 for 2 after "Giants" went #1 earlier this year, the strongest showing of any act this year. "Unconsolable" also has a big points advantage over its biggest competitors going into next week; "Lies" by CHVRCHES gains the #2 spot, but with just over half of #1's point total. "Unconsolable" is also this week's Greatest Gainer (biggest increase in points from last week), while Emily King's "Distance" is the Biggest Mover (biggest jump in rank from last week). As for new entries, there are a couple impressive debuts and other entries this week. Andrew Ripp's "Falling For the Beat" is the Highest Entry at #10, a strong follow-up to his cover of "Mirrors," which also peaked in the top 10 earlier this year. "Happy" by Pharrell Williams belatedly debuts at #12, while LP's "Night Like This" comes in at #13. The lowest six songs on the chart this week are also all new entries, four of them debuts for their respective artists.

Glad to see the love for the Broken Bells track! It has been a favorite of mine for some time now. Looks like it's dropping though. It's also great to see you charting the James Blunt single. It's so underrated.
And I love the formatting of your chart. It's so professional looking, like it could be in an industry publication.

CHART E3 - APRIL 21, 2014 - SUMMARYX Ambassadors remain very strong in their second week at #1. Andrew Ripp and Pharrell Williams score their first top 5 hits, with "Falling For the Beat" and "Happy," respectively. "Don't Wait" by Mapei is this week's Biggest Mover, while Ray LaMontagne's "Supernova" is the week's Greatest Gainer, despite having moved only one position. "Rude" by MAGIC! is the Highest Entry, at #7, one of the highest this year, although it had a bit of a headstart, already having points from last week, when it barely missed the #40 spot. Debuting this week is Neil Finn with "Impressions." OneRepublic and Passenger also have new entries, with "Love Runs Out" and "Scare Away the Dark," respectively.

Crap! Partition was *this* close to being a top 20 song! :( It moved down a few positions, but it actually had more points this week than last week. So don't give up hope. ;) I really need to listen to that more, or at least find some more country. Thanks so much!

I love these:
"Lies" "Happy" "Rude" "Magic" "Partition" "Sing" "Hey Brother" "Come With Me Now"
I don't know the majority of your charting songs which means I'm basic. No new information for today. :)

● Good to see "Happy" and "Rude" in the Top 10 and "Magic" in the Top 20. ● "Forever" is close to be inside the Top 20. ● Nice to see "Partition", "Love Runs Out", "Are You What You Wanna Be", "Into the Blue" and "Come With Me Now" in the Top 40.
PS. I agree with the guys! The formatting is really good.

What is the meaning behind chart E2 and E3? But I see you fixed the formatting error this week. I see you charting a Phantogram song... How did "Fall In Love" perform? :)

What is the meaning behind chart E2 and E3? But I see you fixed the formatting error this week. I see you charting a Phantogram song... How did "Fall In Love" perform? :) "Fall In Love" is going to enter this week or next week. "E" refers to this iteration of the chart's formatting (it stands for excel). I started this thread one week after I started using the new format, hence why the first chart is labeled E2. :) "

CHART E4 - APRIL 28, 2014 - SUMMARYThings are starting to heat up at the top of the chart with this week's Greatest Gainer, Mapei's "Don't Wait," landing at #2 and within 3 points of X Ambassador's "Unconsolable," which nonetheless scores its third week at #1. Slightly lower, Kat Dahlia re-enters the top 10 with "Crazy" and Lana Del Rey's "West Coast," this week's Highest Entry, enters the chart at #10. Also new this week are Ingrid Michaelson's "Time Machine," Kevin Sharp's cover of "Nobody Knows" (artist debut following his tragic passing), Sam Hunt's "Ex to See" (artist debut), Estelle's "Make Her Say (Beat It Up)," and Phantogram's "Fall in Love." The Greatest Movers this week are Nathaniel Rateliff's "Don't Get Too Close" and OneRepublic's "Love Runs Out." Falling Off or Out of Contention (Peak, Weeks on chart):Original Don ~ Major Lazer, The Party Squad (1, 11) Empire ~ Shakira (19, 7) Beautiful ~ Mali Music (40, 1) The Epilogue ~ ✝✝✝ (Crosses) (0, 0) Coming of Age ~ Foster the People (15, 3) Falling in Love Again ~ Rachael Yamagata (33, 3)Best Day of My Life ~ American Authors (18, 9)I Want it All ~ Karmin (34, 2) Album of the Week:Pop Psychology ~ Neon TreesOverall, a pretty solid follow-up to 2012's Picture Show. Several songs are as instant as "Everybody Talks" and "Lessons in Love," although none are quite so engaging. In any event, there is quite a bit of crossover potential here. My one complaint is that the album lacks some of the variety and depth of Picture Show -- as if they decided they wanted to make a whole album of "Everybody Talks" rehashes. The album also feels less mature, especially the first half, with many songs seeming aimed at a younger audience. In general, I prefer the second half to the first. Grade: B

ALBUM REVIEW - DIAMONDS BY JOHNNYSWIMGenre(s): Folk-pop, singer-songwriter Best Tracks: Pay Dearly, Closer Rating: ★★★★★ (A)
I'd never heard of this duo before (they've been around since at least 2012), but the cover of their new album caught my eye and I gave it a listen. I'm very glad I did, because it is gorgeous. It's a nice little mixture of folk, rock, and soul, great vocals and lyrics -- not music that will be played on the radio, in all likelihood, but still catchy and modern-sounding. Much to my surprise, I also discovered in doing a little research that the female half of the group, Amanda Sudano, is actually Donna Summer's daughter! Who would have guessed? Spotify

CHART E5 - MAY 5, 2014 - SUMMARY"Unconsolable" eeks in a fourth week at #1, but the songs in nearest contention to replace it are beginning to peak, so it will be interesting to see what happens next week. Urban and Rhythmic did very well this week, with Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty" making the Highest Entry at #8. It's only the second entry on my chart for Jason, following "Whatcha Say" way back in 2010. In addition, Ariana Grande's "Problem" is the next highest entry, at #21, and Estelle's "Make Her Say (Beat it Up)" is the Biggest Mover. Zacardi Cortez and Jennifer Hudson, two more new entries (and the former an artist debut) even out the R&B at the bottom of the chart. The Greatest Gainer, however, is Phantogram's "Fall in Love," and non-urban entries include "Lock Me Up" by The Cab and "Goddess" by Banks, the first follow-up to her multi-week #1 smash from earlier this year, "Waiting Game." Falling Off or Out of Contention (Weeks, Peak): Distance ~ Emily King (6, 16) Running If You Call My Name ~ Haim (9, 4) Allie Jones ~ Mayer Hawthorne (16, 3) Bonfire Heart ~ James Blunt (24, 11) Into the Blue ~ Kylie Minogue (2, 17) Come With Me Now ~ KONGOS (2, 28) Bridges ~ Brooks (2, 38) Aerosol Can ~ Major Lazer, Pharrell Williams (6, 7) Chandelier ~ Sia (3, 15) The Way We Are ~ Kate Boy (17, 12) Album of the Week

CHART E6 - SUMMARY - MAY 12, 2014This marks "Unconsolable"'s fifth week at number one, the longest run in that position of any song so far this year. But there are several songs now within striking distance for next week. Quite a few songs with negative changes this week that I do not consider to have peaked, so don't be concerned about that. The Greatest Mover this week is "Love Runs Out" by OneRepublic, while the Greatest Gainers are "Fall in Love" by Phantogram and "Time Machine" by Ingrid Michaelson. "Pay Dearly" by Johnnyswim, an artist debut, is the Highest Entry. "Hey Brother" by Avicii and "Your New Beloved" by Lovelife re-enter the chart.

The Highest (and only) Entry this week is Coldplay's "A Sky Full of Stars," at #34. Johnnyswim scores their first Top 10 hit.
