You can sing "radio killed the radio star" on the part after he sings the title line. You mean video?... or is there an embedded Tim McGraw joke embedded in there...? There is no video for this song for some reason so changed it to radio. NM - just saw above post lol.

I don't know what everybody else thinks of Tim's new video but honestly if his videos come up on GAC and CMT i change the channel cause they are all the same basically. There is nothing special to them. I love the song but the videos SUCK.

^I agree. I was really hoping they'd make an actual "video" for this one, or a story-type of video. I love the song too, and I guess no matter what the video is, it'll give the song more exposure, but it seems like far too often we get dull, live-shot videos from Tim. This is definitely not a memorable video, but it won't change how I feel about the song at all. I'll be rooting for it to go to #1.

Tim does not like shooting music videos, which is why he does very few of them. And when he does, they are either live shots or videos that don't have actual acting or storylines in them. You'd think he would do videos a little more since he's taken up acting.

It could be that Curb Records doesn't want to produce a video that will cost too much money, or that Tim simply doesn't wanna do 'em for any more Curb records releases. Then again, George Strait doesn't like music videos either.

Lovin this song! Nice change for Tim and catchy as heck. and I kinda actually like the video too. He's had some great videos and I do really like his "live" videos too. Seems like a good fit for this song and putting him back on the map for that cool vibe and fun show type guy.

I can't wait for him to be done with Curb Records; regardless of which label signs him or if he launches his own label, he'll undoubtedly still continue to receive A-1 material from Nashville's best songwriters.
Having enjoyed #1 singles during the month of December in previous years, including 'Something Like That' in 1999 (it went on to become the most-played song of the decade--487,000+ spins---on North American radio), 'My Next Thirty Years' one year later, and 'Back When' in 2004, he's not done yet, and I'm looking forward to this tune hitting #1 next month.

Curb Records is not the best record label at All, They Released stuff against Tim's Wishes, The've screwed over Jo Dee Messina & Kimberly Locke & Other's, Felt Good On My Lips is a Good song, I think he should go sign with Faith's Label, I don't want him any near Toby's since they have issues promoting things.

Didn't he start a label of some sorts a few years back, Stylesonic I think it was called, they had Halfway To Hazard, Lori McKenna and The Warren Brothers signed...or was that like a managment thing, I never knew what it was. Probably like Brad Paisley's SeaGayle or Reba's Starstruck...

^Yeah, but I don't think it's a "complete" label. I know Hazard was partnered with Mercury, and Lori with Warner. I don't remember the Warren Brothers ever being on it.

H2H and the Warren Brothers were/are signed to the publishing arm of the company Tim owns with Byron Gallimore (H2H obviously hit the label too). Look for his new contract to be similar to the one that Urban, Little Big Town and Lady A have with Capitol (and similar to Craig Campbell and others with Bigger Picture). The label will provide marketing support but Tim/StyleSonic will get to keep ownership of master recordings, etc. Garth Brooks followed the Beatles towards this kind of model as well.

Good song but my ears are starting to bleed from how much it's being played on radio.

^Really? I hardly ever hear this one, it seems.
But, I'm glad it's almost to #1. Whether it gets there this week or next, this has been one of Tim's fastest rising singles in...I can't remember how long. It's almost like the Tim of a few years ago is back, albeit with a bit of a different sound. Still, this one has been one of my favorites for a while now, and I'm glad it's had a quick yet solid run toward the top. I think it's possible he may get 2 weeks, but if it did start to fall after 1 week I wouldn't be too terribly surprised, since a lot of people seem to do that these days with the whole "revolving door" effect...

This is officially Tim's 23rd #1 hit this week. My guess is that he'll hold on for a second week (and possibly even a third) before Kenny takes over. I wonder if a new single from a new album will be announced anytime soon.

I wonder if a new single from a new album will be announced anytime soon. I think things will get quite interesting. Tim will show up as the #1 for this week, the 1/8 chart, and as you say (and I agree), he has an excellent chance for a 2nd week on the 1/15 chart. Yet, Jason was #1 on MB this week, and with Carrie Underwood co-hosting the CCUSA top 30 with Lon Helton on the weekend of the 15th, I think her label may push "Mama's Song" hard this week. She only needs to get to #1 on MB to keep her streak intact, and I think that that's all Arista might focus on. I know all the numbers haven't yet returned to normal, but Carrie is quite close to Tim & Jason in points on MB--within 500 of both, while she's about 1,000 ahead of Kenny. Tim hosts the 1/8 edition of CCUSA, Carrie is the 1/15 co-host, and Kenny is the 1/22 co-host. So, I do think Tim could get 2 weeks at #1 on Billboard...but how bout this: no weeks at #1 on MB despite 2 weeks at #1 on Billboard? Obviously that situation could be far from happening (it seems unlikely just reading it when it's typed out), but I think there is a scenario in place for it to happen. Carrie only needs to manipulate the MB points system to get her #1 there, and Tim just needs to hang on to #1 on Billboard (have an audience ahead of Carrie) before Kenny moves in. The CCUSA schedule is no coincidence. The only reason I bring this up is because rowdawg posted earlier that Carrie is showing up at #1 just barely on the MB Real Time Tracker. I know, it's very early, only after 1 day into the MB week, but I think it could be a sign that her label makes a big push this week. Whatever happens, we should have some very interesting charts for most of January. Well actually, every week is always interesting!

I actually wouldn't be shocked if that's what happens (Tim gets 2 weeks at #1 on BB, none on MB). If Carrie is getting pushed to #1 for the coming week, it definitely wouldn't surprise me if the label settles for a Mediabase only #1. Tim is currently leading the RTT for the week.

This has happened in reverse to Tim before; 'She's My Kind Of Rain' spent two non-bulleted weeks at #1 @ R&R/Mediabase a few years ago, but peaked at #2 at Billboard (98% sure about the Billboard part).
It's the only non-bulleted song to spend two weeks at #1 @ R&R/Mediabase that I'm aware of.
I'm delighted he's #1 at Billboard; I hope we get a new single and CD from him real soon once he's done with the blockheads at Curb Records--some of his choices for singles since 'Back When' hit #1 six years ago this month have been downright atrocious.

I wonder if a new single from a new album will be announced anytime soon. I've got Timmy with 24 #1s on Billboard. Are you not including his "duet" (if it can be called that) with Messina, on Bring On The Rain, in your total? I believe Billboard offcially gave him credit for a #1 on that one, along with Joel Whitburn.

This is my first video response. You tell me if Tim McGraw should get credit for the Jo Dee Messina hit, Bring On The Rain. I have already discussed my stand in the #1 Artists thread. Read at your pleasure.

Its not a question of whether he should or shouldn't. He already did get credit for it. Being on the same label they prob. wanted him to get credit for it as well.
