Grammy officially turned into something on the same level with VMA ever since they gave AOTY to Taylor Swift, I honest don't even care anymore. I mean, if My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy can't even get an AOTY nom over Loud, none of the other noms should even matter. Just saying.

The grammys are still the biggest award show, and many artists want them. I just can't at them throwing Bey under the bus like the did Alicia a few years ago...The R&B categories are really weak...not just with the Bey snub, but also Jill Scotts. Just disappointing.

Cue the 'Matthew bought her grammys' bs...
Honestly, I hope this is a wakeup to her. I love her but by God this era has been mismanaged from the very beginning. She can do anything- except manage her own career. Misstep after misstep and now we have an underperforming masterpiece that's been snubbed commercially AND at the only award show that matters. Wake up Bey! You need help! It's especially frustrating because the highlights of the album haven't even been used- almost all of the reviews called EOT and IWH the highlights.
Ugh. Well at least she still has 16. Doesn't really matter anyways because Adele and Kanye/JayZ will be the nights big winners.

RTW didn't get nominated for Best Video. And hey it could have been worse. She at least got something..just sucks that "4" arguably her best work will remain her least nominated era.

Yes- the DVD at No. 3, rather than No. 2- Paul Grein corrected the item in his Chart Watch column.

You obviously did NOT understand what I was saying at all. By "on the same level with VMA", I meant the authority of representing the quality of music. For the past few years, with nominees like Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber, Grammy has turned into something that aims to please the mass, just an opinion.

Beyonce definitely should have received some nods. That was very weird. Her album has been critically acclaimed but she only gets two nods in those categories. That sounds funny. However, the committee is funny. It's like they hate for you to have too much success in a way. Alot of what they have been nominating recently has been about commercial success, yet they act as though they are all about quality. Then when they get quality they ignore it. Not to be funny or anything but alot of Bey stans always say well she has this many grammys or what not, so now if they say otherwise people are gonna say well it was fine when she was getting alot of them.

Also, i think some people try to block other artists success because they don't get no shine.

This has been, by far, her messiest era yet and everything has sort of been all over the place in terms of organization, management and even the selection of releases and timing of everything. That said, I'm sure her personal life has been the main focus rather than her career this year with the pregnancy so her priorities are just elsewhere. Can't really hold it against her too much because of that but if she did have someone else managing everything, it would be a lot less weight on her shoulders and someone could have handled everything else and made sure everything was done right. I honestly thought the release date was set perfectly in time for the Grammy's.

Looks like 4 is the new My December. Care to elaborate? I don't get the comparison at all lol. They each only had one song that got any significant airplay on CHR. Kelly had Never Again. Beyonce has Best Thing I Never Had. Both albums are the least successful sales wise for each artist. Both albums are critically praised by both artists fan bases. Both albums had messy management behind the scenes.

lol, except that MD sold less than 4 has so far in a much better sales climate, and it also scored a much lower metacritic score than 4. you should realize that 4 has done much better than MD, Try This, Bionic, etc... It's not a flop by any means.

^ I agree, I wouldn't label 4 as a flop, but the era as a whole underperformed. I think in a couple of years 4 will be largely forgotten due to not having any smash hit singles. The only thing non fans will remember is Best Thing I Never Had.

Well I can see the comparisons kinda in that sense but My December was sabotaged by RCA and was D.O.A. . Columbia was actually looking for 4 to smash and gave it all the support in the world in comparison to My December. They tried to have hits by releasing a lot of singles but nothing stuck. And Beyonce did some pretty big high profile appearances and performances and released a DVD in support of the album. My December had none of those things. Both albums underperformed but for different reasons.

Bummer about the Grammys, but her real victory is making me a fan of hers with this album. Months later and I'm still loving it.

Enjoyed the 20/20 interview last night. Wished there was a tad more focus on the album than the DVD but I guess that was the purpose of it.
