my personal chart has no recurrency.
it's a Top 100 - and I kinda think, if a song has enough points to chart, it should be able to chart.
What do you think?

Hmmm... I've toyed with a recurrent rule on a personal chart but decided against it. Because I think my chart should just reflect what I like. If I get sick of something, newer or older, it falls faster and falls out sooner. If a song stays on my chart for months, or even a year, it'd be because I liked it enough to keep it on that long.
Of course, this all depends on how you determine your personal chart. Mine is based purely on my own personal taste in currents at the time as well as other aspect like anticipation and how much I want to listen to a particular song in a given week.

^ mine is based purely on what i am actually listening to.
Literally the only factor in my personal chart is how many times per in that week i listened to the song + rollover to keep songs from, you know, dropping from #1 to #73

I include whatever I am currently spinning on my personal chart, if I give it enough spins for it to chart, which varies from week to week depending. I find it pretty difficult to separate recurrents, so I don't bother. If a song from 05 gets like 20 spins in a week, I'll include it. The rules for personal charts are pretty loose- it's basically whatever you want to do. Random recurrents are just unlikely to chart on the Pulse 100- only because it's pretty unlikely that anyone else has the same "old" song charting.

Oh and a top 100? I don't know how anyone can find the time for that- there's someone who does a top 100 and then like 100 recurrents plus "others." I couldn't even keep up with a top 40. I cut it down to top 20, and now I've settled at top 25 for the time being.

If a song from 05 gets like 20 spins in a week, I'll include it. That is exactly what I used to do. I stopped doing a personal chart, because it bored me. I might do it again though... who knows.

My personal chart is ranked by songs I liked most throughout the week, nothing else. Only rules are no demos and I'm generally reluctant on re-entering songs over about 1.5 years old. No recurrency, as that just defeats the purpose of it.

No recurrency, as that just defeats the purpose of it. My chart has demos in it, but that's because it's based on actual spincount lol. my 'airplay songs' won't have them though Anyway, I made an "airplay songs" chart - and i'm using it as an itunes playlist to play in the car when i'm with my friends so it's all pretty new songs or songs i just recently discovered. i'm keeping album cuts out of it UNLESS they're really amazing and i love them .xD it will help newer songs get played more than older songs. i'm hoping this will hit recurrents down a peg on my chart.. AIRPLAY SONGS for the week ending 9/26/10 2W LW # Artist Song Notes * --- --- 01 Cheryl Cole - Promise This < 1 WEEK @ #1 > * --- --- 02 Shakira - Loca --- --- 03 Fefe Dobson - Stuttering --- --- 04 Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way * --- --- 05 Katy Perry - Firework --- --- 06 Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) * --- --- 07 Shontelle - Perfect Nightmare * --- --- 08 Sky Ferreira - Obsession --- --- 09 Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over --- --- 10 Yolanda Be Cool - We No Speak Americano * --- --- 11 Glee Cast - Toxic * --- --- 12 Nicki Minaj - Right Thru Me * --- --- 13 Ayumi Hamasaki - Crossroad * --- --- 14 Carrie Underwood - Undo It --- --- 15 Charice - Reset * --- --- 16 Taio Cruz - Dynamite --- --- 17 Ayumi Hamasaki - Virgin Road * --- --- 18 Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are * --- --- 19 Far East Movement - Like A G6 < BREAKOUT > * --- --- 20 Bruno Mars - Grenade < BREAKOUT > * a (*) indicates a song which has obtained more chart points this week than it managed in the week prior to it

^ needed opinion kthnx. helped me get the ideas to 'fix' or 'revamp' my personal chart really well, in fact.
also - why do you care? if i shouldn't have made a thread for it, i figure the administrator who posted in here would have mentioned any problems - but look, he didn't. so, move along now.

The topic is pertinent to only you. In other words, it fails to provide discussion suitable for this forum. Couldn't be any clearer, eh?

People can discuss my problem. i wasn't aware that didn't qualify as a discussion. aside from that, other people could potentially use it as a reference if they happen to have a similar problem. stop being such an elitist prick, and leave the moderating to the moderation staff.

A. Nice save, or should I say edit? B. How will I ever carry on?
EDIT: looks like the term has resurfaced in a second edit. I think I'm done here.

but again, i'm sorry that 5 people discussing the recurrency rules in their personal charts doesn't qualify as a 'discussion' to you. please forgive the fact that my definition of a discussion pales so clearly in comparison to yours. i must always remind myself that a discussion in not a discussion unless it pertains to all 8,828 members of Pulse Music Board.

Normally, when threads are placed in a forum that wouldn't be considered the most appropriate location (in this case, the Personal Charts forum), I simply move them; however, this one appears to have been derailed and, as Nic's already updated his chart and made his recurrency decision, I think it can be safely locked.
