Yeah, but not all songs crash with a -2500 bullet, unless their name is S&M or BTW ;)
However, I just noticed this is still Top 20 in Canada and the United World Chart. Great Longevity worldwide!

I still think Gaga's "crash" was more dramatic just because it went into power play at so many stations literally right away. Its first week numbers still amaze me. There just was never any time period of a normal run where stations mostly gradually increased play over a few weeks like most normal hits. I feel like its crash has been interpreted in the wrong ways-as an embarrassing thing when really it is just it had an abnormal chart run because it was Gaga's first song to come out in awhile and gained faster than even really fast moving songs.
I think BTW will very, very easily become one of her signature songs and one of her most recognized.

This won't be a signature song ... it "held up" because Judas flopped and didn't require any airspace. In effect, Born This Way had a long run because there was no functional 2nd single ... simply spins went straight from Born This Way to Edge of Glory. BTW still crashed quickly at first, but since Judas disappeared so quickly, BTW was able to hold up okay. Tik Tok's descent slowed after BBB started to struggle and then disappear. This doesn't make much sense to me. It's not as if radio programmers NEEDS to be blasting at least one Lady Gaga song; the fact that Judas flopped in the first place shows that. Plus, EOG went out & took off immediately pretty much as soon as Judas started stalling. This will probably become a signature song, not so much due to its commercial success but the fact that it encapsulates who she is as an artist and what she stands for. I think twenty years from now Gaga will be remembered for pushing gay rights to the forefront in a way no pop star ever dared to do before, and this song is her most blatant attempt at doing so.

In effect, Born This Way had a long run because there was no functional 2nd single. Disagreed. If stations/people didn't want to hear BTW, they wouldn't have played it. It's as simple as that.

[RECURRENT] LADY GAGA Born This Way 1631 1685 -54 11.166 – 20 Spins – 10 Bullet – 0.289 Audience It looks like it's a bad day since in the nine days before this it only lost a total of 39 spins, so don't worry. On the bright side, it's #41 on the chart with recurrents today, and with 'Who Says,' 'Roll Up' and 'Hello' falling like rocks, it might even be back in the top 40 this coming Sunday! It's really holding up well after that initial drop. And on the recurrent Gaga topic; [RECURRENT] LADY GAGA Judas 46 52 -6 0.142 – 6 Spins – 9 Bullet – 0.009 Audience That flop doesn't seem to be doing too badly now anymore, considering it was at 57 spins when I last updated it twelve days ago. It'll probably stay stable for a while like this now. And also on this topic, 'Born This Way' is #12 on the year-to-date chart, with 138,445 spins. 'The Lazy Song' and 'On The Floor' are quite close and considerably higher, and obviously there'll be more songs overtaking it to come, but since it's doing so well in recurrent play and we're already halfway through the year and it's #12, it might actually end up in the top 25 on the year-end chart! Hope this doesn't get locked.
