Looks like the speculation was incorrect---- TonyThomas Twitter: After a multi-week #1 with "Somewhere With You," @kennychesney's next single will be "Live A Little." Whaddya Think? If "Live A Little" goes to radio next from Kenny, I thank him so much for having that happen with the song because it was co-written by my most favorite songwriter. :)

Question: Wondering why Randy Housers "In Gods Time" is on the Billboard New and Active list? I don't know if its his next single or not, No studio version has been sent out, and the only link was when he performed it on the Opry. ?

The New & Active list just shows the top 5/6 bulleted songs that aren't in the top 60, regardless of if those handful of songs are singles or not. Doesn't mean the tune won't be a single, but as of now I don't think it's been confirmed.

"Help Me Help You" by Jake Owen is NOT his next single. Just wanted to give a heads up. His next single has yet to be announced.

With "Soldiers & Jesus" being gone from the lists now, I wonder what song will go to radio next from James. To me "A Good Time For A Good Time" would be a great next song because so many people can relate to it, but one part in the middle of it would have to be changed in some way because of what is really said there. It is right after James says "Well we all come here to shake our blues." :)

^5 Words. Love Don't Cost A Thing. Perfect song for radio, and Otto needs a hit right now.

Love Dont Cost A Dime , does sound like a hit , but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if he was dropped. They have actually given him more chances then most artists. I do wish he could catch on , but his last studio was almost asking for radio to overlook him.

I don't know, just not a fan.

The musical direction that James chose to go in I can admit has not been the most popular musical direction in a long time, but James has already been compared to John Berry and Toby Keith where his appearance is concerned and how can a guy go wrong in that area? :) I think that with the world being the way that it is these days, I don't see how "Love Don't Cost A Thing" couldn't do really well when most people could relate to it at one time or another. :)

Monday. Test Track. 12PM Pacific. New Eric Church. "Homeboy."
Source: Tony Thomas Twitter
Guess that solves the mystery ads in Country Aircheck for the last 3 weeks, lol. Good to see something new from Eric, I hope it's pretty good...not too keen on the title of "Homeboy" but for all I know it could be an amazing song!
James Otto has an amazing voice. It's ridiculous that he can't get any more hits other than one big one. I'm gonna go listen to his album again, but I just don't know if any of these songs are the solution and I'm worried he's on a short leash.

^^^ What do you mean by a short leash? Do you think that James could be released from Warner Brothers some time soon or are you meaning that you don't think that there is a lot of room for him there to be a more successful person in country music?

^^^ What do you mean by a short leash? Do you think that James could be released from Warner Brothers some time soon or are you meaning that you don't think that there is a lot of room for him there to be a more successful person in country music? WBR has been breaking in some new acts lately, and as much as I hate to say it, the fact is that James' album hasn't been selling very well at all, and his singles aren't performing either, so the Warner label might not consider James a priority, or want to give him very many more chances to get a hit (or somehow jumpstart album sales). Sometimes, getting released by a label could be a good thing (or it can be bad, too--Love & Theft, Montgomery Gentry are 2 great duos that haven't been able to find labels). But, if an artist is able to sign a deal with another strong label, they might be able to work with different people and "re-emerge", so to speak. James' "Just Got Started Lovin' You" remains as one of my favorite songs of all time, and it's a shame that he can't seem to duplicate that success. If it were up to me, I'd send out one more single from his current album, and it'd be the duet with Ronnie Milsap. Now THAT's a good song! I'm not saying James will get released, but let's put it this way--he's more likely to get released than, say, someone like Blake Shelton, who's getting the job done.

^^^ If James were to be released from Warner Brothers, I would be surprised if Toby Keith didn't sign him after that.
I thought that Love & Theft was a trio.

^^^ Thank you. Its sad how it seems like no multi person acts in country can stay together anymore. :( Well there's still Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, and Zac Brown Band. But it is true that with a band comes potential conflicts over a lot of things that could lead to break-ups. If you're a solo artist you call all the shots.

Sa-weeeeeet! Can't wait to hear it! Here's hoping she can get that Top 10 hit -- or better still, #1 -- that she's been needing for quite some time now.
