To whomever bumped the "If I Could" thread, I do remember that video from a few years ago. But that truly emphasizes just how far pop that today's country radio has drifted.
"If I Could" is far too country to ever get played on today's country radio. Whereas a song like "Staying's Worse Than Leaving" would've never gotten played on yesterday's country radio (let's define yesterday as, say, 10 years ago...maybe even 15-20 year ago now).
But on today's radio, "Staying's" probably has a good chance for top 20, maybe even top 10 again.
I still liked "From A Table Away" a lot better. I think the lyrics & production for this one are too bland. But bland (think Darius Rucker's "This," for a great example) is what works in today's country radio climate...so this probably has as good of a chance as anything of doing well.
I do like Sunny's voice a lot so I'm pulling for her. I just wish country radio would stop giving us this cookie cutter stuff and give us something exciting for a change. But I realize country radio has sold out to the almightly dollar, just like everyone else, so this is what we're stuck with.

I don't think this song is bland at all. I actually love the music and think that some of the lyrics are genius and creative. Think this could go to Number 1. Especially since I think it will work it's way up the charts much quicker than From A Table Away, which I also loved.

I don't see anything bland about this song either. She sings with a lot of emotion, and her voice is quite distinct to me. The emotion coupled with the lyrics make this quite a strong song to me. But again, we all have different opinions.
I do think this will be a big hit. I don't think it will climb up super fast, but definitely a bit faster than FATA. She already picked up 12 early adds from this past week on MB, and the song goes for adds this week! That's a pretty good sign right there.

Wow, "From A Table Away", while it wasn't the biggest hit, did wonders for her.
12 adds this week for a total of 18 so far. Very impressive for a debut artist's second single.

Do you know where the adds are coming from? I think that's more important than the total number of adds, especially early in a chart run. At this point I would say getting 3-4 adds from large, influential stations is better than getting 12 adds from small/medium stations.

^They're from quite a variety of market sizes...Detroit's WYCD and San Antonio's KAJA were the biggest ones to jump on this one this week. 3 of the stations were smaller ones from Visalia-Tulare, Spokane, and Lancaster, but several of the other stations were anywhere from the 30's-70's in market rank.
But 2 of the stations that jumped on board already last week are top 10 markets--Houston and Washington, D.C. And she was the 6th most added on MB this week, getting more adds than Sugarland as well as artists who went for adds the week of the 25th (Brantley Gilbert, Kid Rock, Ash Bowers, Randy Houser, and Brother Trouble). Granted, most of those artists aren't big stars yet, but Brantley seems likely to do well, Randy has had a few decent-sized hits, and Brother Trouble has a good radio-friendly summer tune out there that radio really hasn't even taken notice of yet.
I guess my main point is that it's nice to see 18 stations on board already at the start of this week, since this is her "adds" week. I imagine she'll get a bunch more this week..

^Thank you for answering the question for me.
I'm so glad KAJA added it this week. Can't wait to start hearing it. They played "From A Table Away" since the beginning, it seems like. I know it was in the lower part of the chart at least when I heard it on KJ.

Glad to see this song looks to be getting off to a great start w/ country radio! Here's hoping Sweeney gets another Top 10 hit, and hopefully this one will climb fast enough that it will be able to climb even higher.
Also, looking forward to the music video for this, whenever that may be coming. <3

Interestingly enough, this slipped off Billboard this week. Can't say I saw that coming, but at the same time it doesn't worry me either. After all, she had charted early last week and was only at #60.
She got 9 adds on the Billboard panel this past week, and I'm guessing she'll be able to pick up 10 or more this week and will likely re-enter on the 5/21 chart.
I do think this will make the top 10, and I agree it's probably likely to climb faster than "From A Table Away", but I could still see this one having a longer and steady run. Assuming it makes the top 10, I'm gonna say it'll take close to 30 weeks to get there yet. Can't remember exactly, but I think FATA was close to 40..

According to an ad in Aircheck, it also scored an impressive 347,000 plus downloads as the free single of the week. That WILL count towards Gold single 'sales'.

So pretty much, there's that many people who have enough interest in Sunny to download this song? And that's just the people who knew or saw that it was the free single of the week. That's pretty impressive.

Back on at #54 this week. She also managed to pull in 7 more adds, bringing her total so far to 25. She's off to a pretty good start so far. I agree that this will probably do about as well as "From A Table Away", but just get there somewhat quicker.

I was hoping she'd get a few more adds than she did, but still, not too bad. The big thing is that the stations adding this song are mostly mid-size markets or better. This week she got added on 7th ranked WUBL Atlanta, and also had stations in Portland, Kansas City, and Providence add her. I'm anticipating a nice, steady climb...not that fast, but not too slow either.

I remember reading something about Sunny that kind of surprised me. She used to be a comedian! She never struck me as the funny type. She seems so serious to me, musically at least.
I hope the video for this comes out soon. I'm not quite sure what to expect in a video for a song like this.

I recall it being quite humorous, lol. And add me to the list of people excited to see the music video ASAP!

I like the video, although I expected Sunny to pack a suitcase and walk out of the house at the end of it. Either way, it was enjoyable and the visuals were pretty good. And man is this song so good!

How's this been doing? I really like the song a lot - hopefully it hasn't stalled out!

Hate to say it, but this song may be too "smart" for country radio. Much in the way Stealing Kisses by Faith Hill was. The lyrics of this song are tremendous and I am hoping the message of the title is enough to get her another hit.

Faith's song should've been a multi-week #1, if quality was the only factor in a song's success. I think I'll get Sunny's album. I'm really enjoying this song, as well as "From A Table Away".

I don't see why radio would play FATA and not this song. They both cover similar ground. And this one actually seems like a slightly better bet for radio in terms of the sound.

I'm not shocked because FATA was an amazing song and this isn't good. She has talent but she needs to hit it out of the park to get a hit.

I really hope Sunny and her label (Republic Nashville?) have something up their sleeves this go round. I was hoping this would be in the top 40 by now, so I'm actually almost shocked to see this struggling.
