"Yes!" :) -Me when I saw this thread.
Great single choice, I think this is a song a lot of people will be able to relate to. I hope this can do even better than "From A Table Away."

I thought the same thing, rowdawg! I actually like this even better than "From A Table Away", which is saying a lot. Weren't they planning on releasing this last year, before switching to "From A Table Away"? Anyway, I actually do think this will do better than FATA did...I can see for sure top 10, maybe top 5... :)

I think it will do well, and I hope it can manage to make it a bit higher than FATA did now that she should have some nice momentum. Radio really seemed to like her previous release, so I can see this doing just as well, if not better. Also, I cannot wait for her album. I need it, like right now!

YES! So glad this is next. This should definitely outpeak "From a Table Away;" it's really catchy and relatable, too. :)

Brilliant choice!!! So excited to hear this. Wish they weren't waiting until May. Seems too long away.

awesome song!! I really like it and can see this doing well. I had a Rate The Music Survey awhile back for "Drink Myself Single" which I thought would kill any momentum she had going if released. It wasn't bad just not as good as FATA or SWTL. Glad they chose something else. I will be getting her CD ASAP when released.

Am I the only one that can't get to liking her voice?? I really want to because of the lack of females getting airplay in the genre, but I just can't get into it. FATA was ok, but vocally she was much better on that song (although still not up to par) so I really can see her being a 1 hit wonder.

I really thought the last single was well written and she sounded OK on it, and I even liked "If I Could" (though her vocals on that one were just ridiculous), but I don't see the reason everyone is falling in love with her. She reminds me of a less vocally talented Miranda Lambert, and I doubt she gets another hit. This is a very forgettable song.

I disagree entirely. I think her voice is truly amazing; the twang in it is music to my ears, and it just connects in all the right places for me. I'd take her over someone who is more vocally bland, like say Martina McBride.
But I guess her voice is a love it/hate it type of thing. I doubt she'll stay a 1-hit wonder... I didn't expect FATA to get anywhere close to the success it managed to get, so that says something about her label's power & the changing attitude of radio towards female radio (although its still nowhere close to a level playing field still).

I can see why some people think she'd be a one-hit wonder. Maybe they'll be right. But maybe not... Again, I see Sunny surprising people (again) with this one, and I think it will even out-peak FATA. I agree that Sunny doesn't have the "best" pipes out there, but she's still quite the distinguished vocalist. And I think the traditional sound oozing from this song (and FATA) is a breath of fresh air to a lot of country music fans.

We've been lacking it up until lately, but thankfully with female artists like her and Miranda Lambert, and male artists like Chris Young and Easton Corbin, its making a comeback and I like that. I don't mind country to lean towards the pop side of things, but I still prefer more traditional country instruments and vocals, both of which Sunny seems to be intent on delivering with her music and that I greatly appreciate.

I agree that her voice is distinguished, but, as is the case with her voice, that's not always the best way to be.

Case in point.....in my opinion, her's is a good kind of distinguishable....not sunny's. We all have our own opinons of good/bad and for me, sunny's is not the good kind of distinguishable. It just doesn't work for me at all. It's also why I see her as being a 1 hit wonder, but I could very well be wrong.

Yay! I wanted either SWTL, or Helluva Heart to be the follow up to FATA. Hope they let her do a video too.

For what it's worth I love her voice and I don't think it'll give her much trouble. She has a similar sound to Natalie Maines and the Dixie Chicks were one of the biggest acts while they were able to get airplay.
Of the songs that are on the ep this is the obvious choice for a follow up single, but the hook isn't as strong as FATA which is what will cause this one to have a slightly harder chart run. Probably why they switched FATA and this for first single, now that radio and the public know who she is this will have an easier time than if they lead with this.
I love "Drink Myself Single" and "Amy" but I knew they wouldn't be singles. The first because it's not radio friendly, though it is bar friendly. The Latter because it's too similar to FATA.
I'm hoping this will be a hit so we can get the album, from other little snippets I've heard it's great.

I share Jordan Stacey's opinion -- she reminds me of Natalie Maines too. Expressive voice, capable of subtle expression of emotion. Natalie also has a wild side and can sing with great power, which I haven't heard yet from Sunny since the 4-5 songs I've heard were all more quiet.
I find it hard to believe that country radio is going to give a ton of airplay to singers I like as much as Jerrod Niemann and Sunny Sweeney. But it just might happen. His 2nd single is heading toward a high peak, and I hope that her follow-up does the same.

I gotta jump on the bandwagon as well; this wonderful song is exceptional, and the lyrics are very thoughtful and evocative.
She's definitely among the most promising artists at country radio these days, and I certainly hope she enjoys a long and sustained career, as opposed to much-missed ladies such as Cyndi Thomson & Rachel Proctor.
Suffice it to say that I cannot wait for the CD to come out, and I certainly hope that it will include her flawless remake of the immortal and flat-out mesmerizing masterpiece '16th Avenue'.

I must be in the minority because while i love natalie's voice, i can't see the comparison. Maybe others agree with you guys though and are playing her because of a lack of dixie chicks material.

I'm also one who hears the similarities between Sunny's and Natalie's voice. When I First heard "From A Table Away", I thought it was Natalie singing. I quite like "Staying's Worse Than Leaving", and I think it will be at least as big a hit as FATA, but just get there much quicker.

Fresh, simple, intelligent, with a good arrangement. She sings it well. I can't ask for anything more. This is why I like country music. I know there won't be a lot of songs this good, but I'm just grateful for the few there are.

I really like this one a lot. It's better than "From A Table Away" for me, and that's saying something.
In "Table" her voice reminded me more of Natalie Maines, but in this one I don't hear it as much. Regardless, I really like her voice. It's very emotive.
