I don't think they'll give up on this anytime soon. But I'm not sure it will do as well as FATA did, because this seems more radio-ready.
It's very well-written and sung with a lot of emotion. I don't see how it's not good but maybe that's just me. I much prefer this to FATA, but the charts are a bit tough right now and a song like this might not catch on as quick during the summer. But I do think it may slowly continue to climb..

I really, really want this to take off and soon. So far, it's one of my favorite country songs of the year. I wish radio was quicker in picking this up; getting pretty concerned about it's consistent minimal gains. :-\

I don't see it picking up, she has had one hit on Country radio and it was a far more exceptional single than this one. She needs a good song to have another hit.

I think the majority here clearly sees this as an exceptionally good song, myself included.
It's been picking up a few more stations each week. But the slow chart is killing any momentum for newcomers like Sunny Sweeney, Hunter Hayes, James Wesley, etc. It slows down the higher parts of the chart but the lesser-known artists have just as much if not more trouble trying to get airplay, because whenever a spot opens up down below, someone like Keith Urban or Blake Shelton or Taylor Swift just jumps in and moves up and some songs get stuck in the same spot for weeks.
I'm not sure that this will be a big hit but I think it may continue to move up slowly. There is simply no way that this song is going to go up ahead of Sara Evans, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, new singles from Blake and Taylor, etc...she's Sunny Sweeney and she's talented but she can't go up faster than those stars yet, no matter how good the song is. She and the label will just have to be patient because I see no other way...it's very competitive out there right now..

I was in the minority and was correct about its single chances when it was first released. Sometimes the opinions of this board can miss.

My quote was more directed to the immediate response that the majority on the board loves the song and the implication I must be wrong, but I agree this is more radio friendly than the LBT song. I still don't see this doing anything.

I was in the minority and was correct about its single chances when it was first released. Sometimes the opinions of this board can miss. Being in the minority doesn't make your opinion wrong, and I never said that nor implied it. All I said was that a lot of people like this song, and I think it can still slowly move up yet, and thus your opinion was the minority. I did not predict it would be a big hit, a top 10, or a #1. I didn't predict anything so I don't see how the Little Big Town example is a good analogy here. My post was basically addressing its slow movement and how I expect that to continue if the label keeps supporting this. My main point was how Sunny can't really compete with artists like Keith Urban, Sara Evans, Alan Jackson, Kellie Pickler, etc, because they are bigger stars and they move up quicker. When there are so few songs going recurrent, and many of the artists surrounding Sunny are bigger stars and able to take the few open spots, we should all expect a slow climb. The same goes for Hunter Hayes, James Wesley, Eden's Edge, etc.

This needs to get moving, though it should finally break the top 40 this week, in its 16th week. There should be 3 recurrents (if Eric Church goes), and Justin Moore looks to be the only one who might pass her (though he also might not). Hopefully cracking the top 40, along with the impending album release, will give the song a bit of a boost.

Jason Aldean could leave. Frankie Ballard could leave. Eric Church, as you say, could leave. And this song could post a decent number and make it to the 40 on its own.
I'll be very happy if that happens, but this song's going to need more than 30 weeks just to crack the top 20. Disappointing. I thought she'd earned a little more support with her fine chart run with Table.

Glad to see this is done. Never did anything for me. Hopefully she releases something better and it catches on. Otherwise she will be in trouble of fading back as quickly as she ascended.

I'm hopeful that it can turn around for a few weeks, and at least reach a higher peak. It's a shame, because I really thought that this would perform similarly to "From A Table Away". Hopefully radio will support whatever she releases next.

I also think there may be some life left in this yet. It's a shame that it's taken this long just to go top 40; imo, I thought this would be in or nearing the top 20 by now as it sounds miles and miles better than FATA to me.I also thought it would peak at least slightly higher than FATA, too. I'm wanting to think that lack of promo is the main reason for this struggling like it is instead of lack of radio support.

Big shame. Thought this song was far superior to FATA. Think this will find some life. The album came out last week. Don't think we can say done yet.

I still prefer "From A Table Away" to this one. Though I find this a very well-delivered song with good lyrics.
I would LOVE for the next single to be "Fall For Me". But I have the hardest time predicting how well it'd do, or any other song for that matter.

I liked this song better than "From A Table Away" as well. But I don't think its lack of success is due to a lack of promotion...Republic seems to be aggressively promoting all their artists. This got numerous full page ads in the BCU and Country Aircheck Weekly issues, with all ads mentioning her opening for Brad Paisley, her album, etc.
I just don't think radio is biting. There are a lot of other new artists right now and not everyone can make it. Even Martina is off to a slow start...and she's on Republic too. You've got a lot of other artists struggling in the 30's. Sara Evans and Justin Moore are having trouble following up their recent #1 hits. Radio is likely feeling pressure to stick with some of the big stars, while also breaking in guys like Hunter Hayes, Scotty McCreery, Craig Campbell, etc. Ronnie Dunn is struggling. Alan Jackson is moving rather slow. Darius Rucker and Rascal Flatts look likely to miss the top 10.
I'm not sure if Sunny will be able to breakthrough but hopefully they give her another chance or two. Realistically, though, I think this is done...it slipped to #41 last week, lost its bullet, and got no adds...and I believe its bullet is somewhere in the -50's currently. It lost AI's today...and I think this coming chart could very well be the last week for SWTL.

I really hope this isn't done and it can make a turn-around yet and climb at list a fair amount higher.
But, single #3 should definitely be Drink Myself Single. It sounds like a surefire radio hit to me, and the change of pace compared to the first 2 singles should help her in that respect.

I actually really like both of Sunny's first 2 singles. She's one of my favorite females on country radio right now and I wouldn't mind her sticking around getting hits for awile. I hope this can turn around and have a top 20 peak.

What helps Sunny albeit slightly is she was able to stay in the top 40 on the mediabase charts which will give her those valuable countdown spins

This is the only song I skip on the album. I really don't like it. The lyrics lack any originality. The tune, while uptempo, isn't anything special. It's just an all around boring song. And just to add, I LOVE the album. I think it's an excellent debut. It's just this 1 song ruins the "masterpiece" title I'm inclined to give it.

She won't be getting a boost from entering the top 40 because she's already been in for a couple weeks. Unless she can add airplay this week, even just a little bit, I will guess that the 9/17 chart will be the last week for SWTL, unfortunately.

Well, without the countdown spins, she'd have little chance to bounce back. This way, she only needs a small increase in spins. It's not as if she had a big loss to bounce back from. And she lost a tiny amount of airplay today. So she is on a pace to lose 150k or so, but even one station increasing her airplay by one spin a day can move her back into the plus column. She might leave, but I'm hoping she has one more bounce left in this song. On the other hand, I'm not sure what good it's doing her career, hanging around in the low 30's. I just like the song and want it to stick around.

Charts are rough on the bottom half right now it seems.
I also like this one better than "Table".

This gets my vote as the best song on the radio right now, if your hometown radio station is playing it, that is, and I'm glad that CDs cannot wear out, because I really love 'Concrete'.
I believe I read somewhere that she was going through a divorce when she wrote this mesmerizing song, and she's downright exceptional at pouring every she has into it; this is definitely reminiscent for me at least, of some of the stellar songs on Lee Ann Womack's 1997 exceptional debut, including 'The Fool'.
I can only hope that she makes it big, and someday gains the reverence that Ms. Womack has enjoyed all these years.
If country radio ever gets back to playing real country music as was the case when I graduated from high school in 1970, and Kris Kristofferson was just about untouchable as a singer-songwriter at both country and top 40 radio, Ms. Sweeney will be a giant at the format.
We can only hope, can't we?

According to Hits Daily Double, she sold a little over 13,000 copies of her album the first week....good enough for top ten country and top 25 overall

^ Not bad. I wanted her to sell more obviously as I really love the chick, but given her success thus far, I didn't expect much more than that. She probably would've sold more if they had released the album when FATA was reaching its Top 10 peak, since this single hasn't done her any favors and likely won't even if it does hang around longer.
