Glad they're going back to the iconic logo rather than what they did for the last album.

I went ahead and fixed the typo for you. I'm guessing he meant creepy, but you probably already knew that and did exactly what you meant to do.

Based on the 3 songs I've heard, this just might be the first Staind album I buy since the underwhelming 14 Shades of Grey. On second thought, why don't I just take the "wait-and-see" approach? I've since read Aaron saying the sessions for this album were fairly fractious, but also, in addition to those promising songs, I've since heard the embarrassing "Wannabe," which just about undoes all the promise this album had going for it.

^ Haha "Wannabe" sucks ass, but I think the rest the album will sound great. There is one soft song I'm listening to right now, "Something to Remind You," is very emotional and nice. And better than the stuff on Illusions.

I'm listening to the album now for the first time and am eight out of ten songs through. It's certainly heavier than any other Staind album. Even "Dysfunction." I like the direction, but I would have wanted a bit more variety. I think the song that's stuck out to me the most thus far is "Now."
Edit: "Paper Wings" seems like it could have loads of potential to become a future single and certainly "Something to Remind You" since it's the only ballad could be as well.

This is at #2 on Active now. I wonder if it'll be able to knock Foo Fighters off their perch.

I just took a survey from RateTheMusic.com on five songs from the new album. I guess they're deciding on what to pick for a second single. Choices are: "Now," "Wannabee," "Eyes Wide Open," "Something to Remind You," and "Falling." I chose "Now" since I want that to be a single at some point during the album's tenure, but my second choice would be "Something to Remind You." I'd assume since it's going to be chosen at some point because it's the album's only ballad as I said in my other post.

I'm bummed that "The Bottom" wasn't a choice. I'll do that same survey in a bit.

I'm going with The Bottom, Eyes Wide Open, Paper Wings or Failing as the follow-up

Yeah, Paper Wings and The Bottom were better than anything on that survey. I guess I'd vote for Now among the choices, but I selected "NO PREFERENCE" because I wanted my vote to really be for "Other".

I'd pick "The Bottom" or "Eyes Wide Open" over "Now." I think "The Bottom" would do better on Alternative, so I'd probably give that the edge. I'm shocked they're even considering "Wannabe" as a second single.

Yeah really though, Illusion debuted at #3 with opening sales of 92,000 copies. Thought this would at least push 60-70,000 copies. :(

It also seems like they didn't do as much promotion for this one as well. But yeah, I was thinking maybe 60k for this one, guess not. :(

Good for them. Glad to see they're still capable of having a #1 hit that's heavy.
