I would assume the Billboard Pop Songs/Mainstream Top 40 chart to be the official one? Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. I know that in the past, we would look at the R&R charts when it comes to CHR/Pop charts... #confused

Billboard/BDS "Pop Songs" is the official Billboard/BDS chart.
Mediabase "Top 40" is the official Mediabase chart.
They are two different, official charts measuring CHR radio stations. R&R has used multiple sources throughout the years for different periods, including the two mentioned above.
"I Wanna Go" is no. 1 on the Billboard/BDS building chart so far.

www.rollingstone.com/music/photos/readers-poll-the-best-songs-of-the-summer-20110908/1-britney-spears-i-wanna-go-06324801. Britney Spears, 'I Wanna Go' This contest wasn't even close. Britney won by a landslide, which shouldn't come as any surprise. The woman works with the most successful pop songwriters in the industry. This track was co-written by Swedish songwriting legend Max Martin – the man behind everything from "Since U Been Gone" to "I Want It That Way" to Britney's first hit "...Baby One More Time." He's a 40-year-old Swedish guy, but he knows exactly what American teenage girls want to blast in their cars. The video for "I Wanna Go" starts with Britney giving a press conference, which is hysterical because she's one of the least media-accessible singers in the world. It's easier to get a sit-down with Bob Dylan than it is with Britney.

^ Still chances for #1 on Billboard Pop? :( #1 should happen this week...if not next week will be its only shot. Katy Perry's LFN needs to GTFO of #1 fast. Edit: It looks as though Katy got it this week. It looks as though we will have to settle to claim I wanna go as a #1 mediabase hit. Next week Moves like Jagger looks to take it over. Eminem/Bruno's song might also.

I'm just going to put this as a #1 with an asteriks. (sp.) I would say that we would have to see when billboard updates but I wouldn't be surprised if it were #2 again on billboard pop.

Sorry, but what difference makes that it was in 2008? Womanizer spent one week at #1 in 2008 and one in 2009, however, I'm pretty sure both charts were published.

You said ANYMORE so i thought some changes were added lately. I remember that some people were saying that the Chritmas chart was unpublished so it was unofficial, but i don't know.

Oh, I wouldn't know when that change took place, I only have been following the chart since 2008. As far as I know, since I have been following, every week counts and it's an official published chart.

This only lost 28 spins today. I think it will stay at #1 for a 3rd week, which is what I originally predicted. I have a feeling it's gonna be really close between this and 'Lighters' like 200 spin difference.

BOW TO THE QUEEN OF POP! CONGRATS BRITNEY!
I loved "I Wanna Go" since they leaked the snippet before the album release, I'm glad everyone else loved it too! :)

I'm lost, it says that Britney has the longest span of #1's, but later it clearly states that Mariah Carey has a 15 years span..?!! ???

Hi guys, just found this on another online forum
'Radio One & Capital FM just announced almost simultaneously that they are adding I Wanna Go to their A-List playlists in preparation for the UK release. Radio One & Capital FM are the two biggest Radio stations in the UK. Earlier in the week presenters have been saying the song is a sure-fire UK #1 smash. The problem with Till The World Ends and Hold It Against Me is that they were NEVER added to the playlist. Only minor stations play these songs often.'
It was posted back in June and if it is true i dont know what happened really! i always expected it to be a hit in the UK i mean i dont listen to the radio very often but i do watch music channels and it was on all the time.. i dont get why no one downloaded it, its very strange to me.. :/ can someone please give me some knowledge as to why this flopped so much? i mean it didnt even enter the top 100. i can only think of lack of promotion, but HIAM an TTWE didnt have any promotion either
