"Make It Stop (September's Children)" will be the second single from Endgame, going for adds May 30. They're apparently filming a video next week: In a live chat on Absolutepunk.net, Tim confirmed that they're filming a video for Make it Stop next week. I think it's another Top 5 on alternative and Top 30 on active.

Yeah, this isn't gonna do too well on Active. Top 5 on Alt sounds about right.

"Satellite" would've been a better bet for active. This song kinda reminds me of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (the guitar distortion and chord progression at the beginning).

Yeah it's the same progression (in a different key) and it has that same tremolo effect on the distorted guitars. Astute listening, sir!

if they go with this one, it's a good choice because of the message the song shows lyrically

I like this song. And yes, it does sound like a bit like Blvd. of Broken Dreams -- a plus in my book as that is one of Green Day's better songs.

I have a feeling this will perform similar to "Audience of One" and "Satellite" will act just like "Savior".

So you're looking at another Rise Against song spending 60+ weeks on the chart?

I feel like this has a shot at #1. It seems to be a lot stronger than Foo Fighters "Walk" or CTE "Around My Head". The opening chant thing with the kids instantly hooks people and in the PPM ratings era of radio those first few seconds of the song are key.

This happens a lot...especially on alternative. Granted, it's still rising on active rock (which I think might be the point you're getting at), but the song is overall on a downward trajectory on alternative as slow as that may be. Muse released "The Resistance" while "Uprising" was either somewhere near or even at the top. And the Foo Fighters may be doing the same thing with "Walk" and "Rope" very soon.

Yeah, over the past few years, the Alternative format has been doing that quite often. Usually it doesn't do well for the second single. The first example that I thought of was Anberlin's "Feel Good Drag" was still doing lots of damage on the chart when "Breaking" was released and it never did even half as good as "FGD" did. I think of "Breaking" as a better song too. I wish bands would wait a little more until the previous single starts slowing down.

This could also rise fast and make "Help Is On the Way" tumble down. How long did they wait to release "Audience of One" from their last album?

While we are mentioning the possibility of this taking spins away from "Help Is On The Way" in the very near future, it is worth noting that currently "Help Is On The Way" has the biggest bullet in the top 10 at alternative. I wonder if they were to pull a "Savior" and not release another single, would this hit #1 as "Rope" falls. My guess is that Sublime would beat it there if it's destined for #1, but it's interesting. If they hold off on "Make It Stop" and "Help Is On The Way" continues to climb at its current rate, there's a slim (but nonetheless actually existent) chance that "Help Is On The Way" could sneak into the #1 spot. We said that a handful of times about "Savior" and it never happened, so I doubt it'll happen here, but it's something to keep an eye out for just in case. It looks more possible now than it has at any point during "Rope"'s reign at #1.

Oh. I recognize this one from when they played it live a couple weeks ago. Based on my "real" first listen just now, this is a good-ass song.

This could actually go Top 20 on Active due to "Help is On the Way" getting as high as it did.

It seems the more I hear from them these days, the more preachy they are.
Shame, I used to quite enjoy them.

I don't think they're any less "preachy" than they've ever been, and they're covering important social topics while doing so. I've never really understood why a person can't appreciate significant lyrics because they feel they're being "preached". Isn't the whole point of having lyrics to spread some kind of message?
