It's all over the place. Really the only songs I liked were the ones that we heard before today. W/ the exception of Marry the Night. With that said, the only songs I like are Judas, EOG, Marry the Night, and You and I. The rest are a mess. I give it a D.

B There were a few weak songs on there, but other than that I think it's a great compilation of tracks.

D.
This has embarrassingly bad lyrics and is overproduced. I'd give it an F if it weren't for The Edge of Glory and, to a certain extent, Judas. There are a couple other songs that are just passable.

D. It's really bad. There are a few redeeming moments though (TEOG, Sheisse, Electric Chapel).

After listening to the album, I think she's in trouble in terms of how long this album will fair. The 3 main radio friendly songs have already been released. There's really only like 1 more (Marry the Night), which I doubt will do super well. You and I, maybe could be a single. If I were Interscope, I would for sure try and ride out EOG as long as possible, cuz there ain't much more to come after that. It sucks because I was looking forward to hearing songs that were as big as some of the ones from The Fame, but it simply didn't deliver. This will most certainly NOT go down as the album of the decade as she said it would (unless there's a re-release in the fall).

A.
Radio was so fucking wrong when not giving Judas the time of day. That song is a hit and is possibly the only song I felt is the huge hit off the record. Hair will just have to do.

I agree that it doesn't sound like there's much single material but I think, overall, its a great ALBUM. It's a totally new sound but it's this electronic, underground club sound with heavy influences from the 80s. I think the production on the album alone deserves an A.

D. I honestly have no idea how she put out such a crappy album. I didn't think that Gaga was capable of making such boring music but after the disappointment of the singles and now hearing the whole album I've ruled her out.

This is really interesting, I actually read her interview with Rolling Stone where she said "Born This Way" was just the very beginning of the campaign for the album and she wants to release single, after single, after single. She also said each song will be bigger than the last.

Eh, I don't this album is as good or bad as most of you guys are saying. It's got some great tracks, but it's also got some not-so-great tracks, but it's possible those will be growers. I feel like everytime GaGa releases something new most people hate it... and then come back a week later saying 'I love this now!'. It'll be interesting to see how they handle this era, though... because the album does lack standout singles for the most part.
Overall, this deserves a solid B. The only songs I'm absolutely loathing are 'Americano' and 'Bad Kids'.

D. This album is all over the place. Her lyrics are embarrassingly cringe-worthy and over the top. It's all so strange.
The Edge of Glory is easily the best song on the album. The second half of the album bored me to tears, minus You and I and Electric Chapel, which I liked.

I've only listened once but I'm thinkin' C. I love the title track, 'Judas', 'Americano', 'Hair', 'German Shit', & 'The Edge Of Glory'. I can't really see myself revisiting the other tracks all that much.
'Government Hooker' sounded much better rihmixed during that one fashion show.

The singles were all great, minus Hair.
Americano, Gov't. Hooker, and You and I are just AMAZING.
The rest range from fair to bad.

A+. F ucking perfect. 'Government Hooker' sounded much better rihmixed during that one fashion show. Production-wise, it's almost identical, but the one during the fashion show was basically an instrumental with just the "drink my tears..." bits.

4 stars out of 5 for me, so that translates to...a B, I'm guessing?

I rated on iTunes as I played them: Marry the Night *** Born This Way **** Government Hooker ** Judas **** Americano * Hair *** Schiebe ***** Bloody Mary ***** Bad Kids ** Highway Unicorn (Road to Love) ** Heavy Metal Lover *** Electric Chapel *** You and I ** The Edge of Glory **** Album score: 43/14 = 3.07 -----> C+ that seems about right, i think. It's definitely not an A album cuz there are some horrible tracks, and an A album would have nothing horrible on it. Americano is just terrible, and Government Hooker is really no better. Don't see the praise for that one. Same with Bad Kids and You and I. Forgettable and awful. However, there are some really good tracks to offset the bad ones. I think Schiebe and Bloody Mary are the highlights of the album. It's a shame they probably wouldn't work as singles, but i think they should give Bloody Mary a try. The rest of the singles are just average and noisy. They don't really matter much. This isn't the "album of the decade". As a whole, I'd much rather listen to Femme Fatale or Teenage Dream, or even Cannibal. I feel like i'm being force-fed a new experimental sound, which in some parts works brilliantly (Schiebe/Bloody Mary), but in other parts i'm embarrassed to be listening to it. again, the good are really good, but the bad are really, really bad, so it just can't be an A album. Not at all. I do feel the strongest singles were released. Judas remains the strongest, most progressive single. Too bad the lyrics suck. BTW is still my favorite "single", although i like Schiebe and Bloody Mary more, but i'm not so sure of them being singles. But i'd rather have Bloody Mary next instead of Marry the Night. grade: C+

Went with B, though it's more of a B-. I expected way worse, but it's quite the enjoyable listen bar a few horrible tracks. Also: TFM > BTW > TF.
