Great radio update today! Keep going! Glad to see this pull in another 8 adds yesterday on the format, should keep this moving upward!
Currently #54 on iTunes.

Good update today. I just hope it was doing better on other formats, especially HAC. What's today's update over there?

#54 on Digital Songs with a 2% increase to 26,000. As for the song's radio performance I hope it continues to steadily climb until Christmas. Then release the 5th single right after New Years.

^ Thanks!
That's too soon for the 5th single though. Let's give Criminal (and radio) some time to breathe. If there is a 5th single, they should release it by early February. BFB is the clear choice (or even UND since it's the best-selling non-single :o ) followed by IO. I'd love for UND to also be released but it'd be a shame if the previous 2 go to waste.

Good update today. I just hope it was doing better on other formats, especially HAC. What's today's update over there? Not even Top 50 yet, which is strange to me - as this is her most Hot AC -friendly song in a while, IMO. Hopefully the pop-friendly stations in that format pick up the song as it continues to move up CHR/Pop.

Yah, you'd think HAC would appreciate the quasi nod to Supertramp in the melody. Will this break top 50 on the Hot 100 this week?

Has this been pushed on Hot AC yet? I feel like it has a better chance to go further on it than it would on Rhythmic.

"I Wanna Go" is till charting on Hot AC, it was #34 on Billboard Adult Pop songs this week. I think those stations will move on to "Criminal" very soon. I expect it to debut the week of Thanksgiving.

Is it just me who wants Dont keep me waiting to be released? Yes. I love that song, but it would not be a good single choice.

I'm worried if this doesn't turn around (and atleast help produce some holiday sales) there won't even be a fifth single... unless they still have to burn off BFB, and in that case the era's over now.

Well this is just stupid. lol
I don't understand...how can you go from having a #1 single on Pop, to a single that might not even make the Top 20. Understandably, the sound is different, and it's not uptempo, but jeez - this should have had at least enough momentum to go Top 15 on the format...well, I can hope this has enough life in it to hang around somewhat through the holidays, that would be nice. I still think throwing out a single in January, video in February, and closing out the era after that is the right way to go. Tour is done in about a month (right?) so taking two days to make a video, and throw out one last single, would not be a bad idea.

The track strays from the fast-paced previous singles, but, yeah, it's still pop and accessible, and it should have momentum to go top 15 at least,. On the whole, it's limited in the lack of play at other formats. The other singles had some play at rhythmic and Hot AC that helped them attain their levels of airplay.
Numbers 17-20 on pop are all gaining much more than "Criminal," and the ones at 15-16 are almost 2,000 spins ahead. So, it may miss out on the top 20.

I know radio/the public aren't used to non-dance Britney tracks, but I really thought she had enough momentum to at least get people to notice how great this song is. I hope its performance improves.

Not if your song sucks. It doesn't matter how many #1's you had before, if the song sucks, it won't be played, simple as that. This song sucks.
California Flop Bed is the testament to that too.

Kind of subjective, don't you think? I can't argue subjectivity (that's merely opinion), but technically I could think the #1 song in the country "sucks", but it would still make it #1 wouldn't it? I'm not really questioning how much this song "sucks" I'm questioning how radio/PDs can go from spinning a third single all the way to #1, and the following barely scrapping Top 20, if it even makes it there. Also does that mean all songs that peak around #22/23/24 "suck"?

Also does that mean all songs that peak around #22/23/24 "suck"? It isn't just radio though. Clearly, people aren't connecting with it. If it was just radio refusing to play something "different" from Britney, you'd still see people buying the song, even if the radio reception is, uh, lukewarm (to put it nicely), but it's not exactly like this is smashing on iTunes either. This was a terrible single choice from the very beginning and the only reason Jive went for it is because of the very high demand from fans. It's just not suited for radio, and it has NOTHING to do with the "tempo."

I'm a pop music whore, love the video, and am Britney Spears' #1 fan in the universe , but I never supported this song as a single. I just don't find it to be catchy at all, so I'm not really that surprised to see it not faring so well. That's not to say that I don't hope it turns around, but I won't be shocked if it doesn't.

I like this song and hoped it would do well, but I am sort of surprised even with the video it didn't go any higher on Itunes. Makes me think it just isn't connecting like a hit song should. I wonder if this starts dropping soon if they will release another single and, if so, one before Christmas.

even if it underperforms, i'm glad Britney has this in her catalogue instead of Inside Out. Not that IO is terrible, it's not, but this is better, regardless of chart placement.
