Simply put: it's too late.
They insisted on rolling over this single by pushing "Princess of China" instead, and now that they realize the ways of their follies, there's nonetheless no saving this in that it has already long peaked at Adult Top 40 and Alternative radio, while making its way downward on the digital charts.
They should have realized the obvious repercussions BEFORE they yanked its release here.

^Not sure why it would be "too late" - The Man Who Can't Be Moved charted on CHR nearly a year after it peaked on Hot AC BTW I predicted this would happen a couple months ago...

Yes, but The Script's song had never previously charted within the Top 50 on CHR/Pop prior to it's release.

'Who Knew' peaked at #44, left after five weeks of charting, and then returned almost exactly a year later to spend 25 weeks on the chart and a week at #1. Granted this is a bit of a different circumstance, but it's sort of similar and if this were to continue to move forward I don't see the problem.

Who knows? If this gets nominated for Record of the Year in December, it could get revived then.

Granted this is a bit of a different circumstance, but it's sort of similar and if this were to continue to move forward I don't see the problem. That was before the digital market reached a fever pitch. The bottom line is, without an initial digital sales padding or word of mouth via television or YouTube, singles are overlooked for airplay prospects. And with "Paradise" well below its initial peak on the digital chart at this juncture, I don't see any feasible sign of a large-scale format rebound. Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

Keep in mind that spin totals at the bottom of the chart are very low right now; 225 spins with a +47 gain is not really enough to conclude that this song is seeing a second wind. I'm not even sure how low the spin total dropped after this fell out of the top 50 the first time. If the spin gain makes it back into the triple digits, then I'll have more reason to be optimistic that this can surpass its original peak.
Absolutely rooting for this to get another chance here though. I always felt that its chart run of 48-46-44-37-off deserved a proper conclusion.

They moved on from this because "Princess Of China" was shaping up to be a hit on its own. You can't blame them for that. They actually were too slow with moving on in my opinion - maybe if they'd been quicker that one would have done better.
Anyway, I'd love for this to be a hit. It was probably my favourite song of last year and as far as I'm concerned is the best thing they've ever recorded. I really think in years to come it will be considered a classic.
It took a very long time to catch on in the UK - leaking in September and not hitting number one until January. I think that bodes well for it possibly reaching a new peak on Pop in the next few weeks. It's obviously a grower (even though personally I loved it from first listen), but once it clicks with people it really clicks.
Musically it's just incredible. It's very obviously based on "Fun", a song Chris wrote for Natalie Imbruglia's 2009 album Come To Life.
I find it funny because I was really into a cover of that by Sharam last summer and then when "Paradise" came out in September it sounded like an instant classic to me. Probably because it was subconsciously familiar.

Where did this peak before? It wasn't a huge hit? I don't pay much attention to more than a few fav songs, but I thought this was huge. I heard it all the time. I love it.

It only peaked at number 37 on pop back on November 6, 2011. It did go on to do well on other formats, though: Hot AC #4 AC #24 Alternative #1 AAA #1

What the heck?! That's crazy. It played out the butt in Orlando. Their song with Rihanna was terrible. This is gold!

Yeah, I really didn't like Princess of China, at all.
Paradise got 4 adds this week, maybe the begining of a comeback...
