I preordered the album today. Might as well take my first chance this year musically.
I am genuinely curious about how much money they have already put into her. They are definitely expecting her to have some success with fairly expensive videos, boss promotion that even established stars struggle to get sometimes, and all these professional photoshoots and styles. I wonder if she will become a star. I think her album may debut with more than expected and then they will use that momentum to try to launch one of her songs on radio.

I don't know why, but something about her sound takes me back to Mazzy Star so much!

LOL @ this bitch getting me to play "Born To Die" multiple times in a row. I like Blue Jeans too. Didn't care too much for Riding In Cars...or whatever but I CAN'T @ Born To Die. It's her songwriting that got me to pay the most attention and her phrasing makes her lyrics very prominent. Those background vocals really give me pure Tori vibes though, which is not a bad thing, considering Tori is off doing her own magical faerie thing in the woods with her daughter.
Edit: Read the BB article. Good stuff. Who cares about intentions and motives and all that nonsense. There is too much cynicism when it comes to artists. 99% of artists are calculated and cunning. Just ask Madonna fans. This is the only way to break out - being notorious, not just talented. I'm not hating. Looking forward to SNL.

Just discovered her - the EP is great. "Video Games" and "Born to Die" are my favorite but they are all good. There's a very haunting quality to her voice. Can't wait to see her on SNL tomorrow!

This ho better perform "Blue Jeans" tonight or I have no use for her. Also, I just sampled "Off To The Races". Damn, Jeff Bhaskher did her well.

She probably gonna perform 'Born To Die' and 'Video Games' tonight, the two most known songs of hers as of now.

I'm really rooting for this girl. Not bad for her big US debut, but she clearly was nervous, showing in her going off-key a fair amount and that weird "low voice" tone. I was hoping for an Adele SNL moment, but maybe she'll get a hold of her nerves for her final performance. B-/C+.

Oh my god I love her voice on her EP an born to die but her snl perfomance of video games was embarrassing she sounded like she had a baby voice an out of breath. I think/hope its only nerves because she sounds great on record.

I'm really rooting for this girl. Someone posted this on Twitter right after her performance; I couldn't resist She was...all right. Still not sure how I feel about her (I like "Born To Die" and "Video Games," but not really her other songs and her personality seems odd to me for some reason).

I'm disappointed. Still hoping for a better Blue Jeans performance!

It wasn't that bad if you closed your eyes. She was a nervous mess which made it awkward to watch.

I didn't think that Lana did too badly. The low voice wasn't that great, but she's nervous. This is her first big performance; I'd be more surprised if she nailed it perfectly.

I was watching it with a few other people. I was the only one who had even heard of her.. Everyone else thought she was a skit making fun of someone. I have to admit, she did not make me interested to check out anything else by her..

Second one was not any better. With that said, I'm somehow more interested than before.

Never heard of her before tonight...she is horrible!
The first performance wasn't that interesting...but the second one...wow...her voice was absolute trash. With the hype I've been hearing about her the past few weeks I thought she'd at least be semi-decent

I hate when you talk up an artist and some of your friends take your word for it and check them out on SNL and then it is a super horrible performance. That was basically my night. She has GOT to work out the live kinks or she will struggle. Adele is nervous onstage, but still brings it nevertheless.

Those performances are ripe for a Kristen Wiig impression. She was terrible.

She wasn't terrible. That was her first US performance, ever...she was obviously nervous. She was really pitchy at some part but I liked her voice overall and she was flawless as usual.
