I'm eager to see if they can follow-up with the success that they had from the hits from their last album.

Seems rather quick. Didn't even know they were working on a follow up.

I have a feeling they won't do that well this time around. All their material sounds too similar.

All their material sounds too similar. That hasn't really stopped a lot of other bands before.

But for example, I can barely hear a difference between "Animal" and "1983" in my head, until the chorus. Plus Neon Trees become stale after so many listens. At least for me.

I have to agree with all of this. I think any of the songs from "Habits" could have been at least decent-charted hits since they all didn't have a huge difference at all in sound. I got bored with them after awhile as well and within a few listens of the album, that was enough for me for awhile. It they do the same thing with this new album and they're successful again, I can't say it's a bad strategy to go on their part even if it bothers us.

"1983" was crap and killed the era for them. I think "Your Surrender" would have been a good follow-up had they gone with that instead. Hopefully this one goes well. They sound much different live. If they went with a different producer this time around, they could break open.

The only single of theirs I didn't hate was "Your Surrender". If this sounds anything like the first two (which I agree are quite similar), I will be rooting for this to fail miserably.

I don't think they deserve that.

Their music had way more success than I feel it deserved compared to many better bands that will never see the light of day on radio. They've got more than their share and unless this song really earns my respect, I'm going to root for them to have a sophomore slump. I think that's perfectly fair.

I just heard this on AltNation. It sounds basically like everything else on the last album. Catchy, but I wouldn't say nearly as much as the other singles. The high notes were emphasized too much I think. Overall, not a bad song, but not anything close to epic material.

Well, that was a pleasant enough song. It should do well.

I actually like it a lot. It doesn't sound too much like their previous singles, probably because of lack of synths featured ala "Animal" or "Your Surrender."

I really like this, but it sounds more pop than alternative to me. I've been wrong before though.

I thought "Animals" was a lot more poppy than this.

This song sounds similar to the stuff on Habits, but that's far from a bad thing. I absolutely love that album, and I plan to snag their new one the moment it comes out.

Thought Habits was an EP. Wouldn't that make this the debut?
Edit: I was wrong. Weird. Always thought Habits was an EP
