Awesome, I know these are just predictions but you're really good at them and seeing you think that George Strait will break the top 20 and Sarah Darling will break the top 50 as made me look forward to tomorrows chart :)
I'm only going to disagree with you on the Faith Hill being the last week, I some how see them pushing it a few more weeks. Though I do think The Farm is done :(

I think they're likely to cut their losses with Faith's tune...it's not headed for the top 20 and hasn't moved in weeks, really. Tomorrow's chart will be its 2nd bullet-less week so I feel pretty confident that Warner Bros. will just give up on it. The Farm could re-bullet I guess but here's a tune that's not getting much attention either...it's been out for a few months and cracked the top 40 but it doesn't really have any chance at reaching the next milestone (top 30) so with this week set to be its 2nd straight bullet-less week, I figure that one will drop off next week too.
The debuts were especially tough this week. I thought Chris Janson would have a bit more audience than he does so that I'd be able to say he'll safely debut, but right now it looks like he might only squeak on at best. Joel Crouse is only getting airplay on a couple stations but should build off the 216k he had in the New & Active section of Billboard last week. Chase Rice had 237k on Billboard last week (and the #60 song--Mumford--had 383k while #58 was over 500k) and has gained a few more plays on KAJA this week so I think he'll debut based on just that one station's airplay. So it really looks like songs 57-60 could have only around 300k or less, which is a lot different compared to last week.
Eric's "Keep On" and ZBB's "Jump Right In" have gotten their airplay slashed a bit this week but with no other songs really clamoring to get on the chart, both should stay on. It'll especially be interesting if Eric can chart another album cut..."Hungover & Hard Up" had 204k on Billboard last week (which, again, usually isn't even close to top 60) but is up 2 spins this week so that could get it on. Carrie's "Who Are You" is right in there as well...226k on Billboard (New & Active) last week and has gotten the same amount of airplay and spins this week, so it's possible she could debut with about 226k if she winds up just ahead of a couple of the other guys (Chase, Chris, Joel, etc).

^ I'm hoping Carrie can chart with her song, it's not my favorite on the album but I like seeing her be able to chart album cuts. I wish it was "See You Again" instead but oh well.
I'm with you on "Be Grateful" as much as I like that song I don't think it's going anywhere and I don't think Warner Bros. is going to be supporting it much longer (or Nine North whoever is promoting it.)
Faith I know is almost done but they did run an ad for her last week, seems to me they're at the very least trying to resurrect it.
I'm hoping Austin, Chris and Joel can make it on, while I'd prefer to see more new females breaking through these 3 guys along with Charlie Worsham give me some hope that we'll start to see some good males come out this year. They're much stronger than last years batch of newbies imo. (Tyler Farr, Casey James, Kip Moore, Andy Gibson, Tim Dugger, Dustin Lynch, Thomas Rhett & Canaan Smith) Hopefully their albums prove to be as good as their first singles are.

Love to see Chase Rice getting on the chart! Hopefully his appearing on a chart will get him on more than one station.

Country Airplay *** No. 1 *** "Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)" Gary Allan Debut/Greatest Gainer No. 25 "Downtown" Lady Antebellum
As Gary Allan scores his fourth Country Airplay No. 1 (above), and first since "Nothing On But the Radio" in 2004, Lady Antebellum posts its highest debut, as "Downtown" roars in at No. 25. The start is a good sign: the trio's next six highest-bowing entries all went on to hit No. 1. "Downtown" previews Lady Antebellum's forthcoming fourth (non-seasonal) album.
Debut No. 53 "It's All Good" Austin Webb Debut No. 55 "How She Rolls" Chase Rice Debut No. 56 "Better I Don't" Chris Janson Debut No. 57 "Hungover & Hard Up" Eric Church Debut No. 59 "If You Want Some" Joel Crouse

Six debuts! So that means everyone that I thought would leave (Kenny, Thomas, EYB, Hayden, Big & Rich) did leave and then either Kix Brooks, Aaron Lewis, Sweetwater Rain, or Craig Morgan left (only one of the 4). I'd guess either Kix or Craig since I'm fairly certain Aaron and SR were able to re-bullet.
I'm curious to see just how low the audience numbers are down there. Chase Rice can't have much more than 300k, if he has even that. And I'd guess Eric and Joel are closer to 200k. Very interesting to see another Eric album cut make it on. Normally his level of audience wouldn't get him on but he gets lucky this week, and now he has a total of 4 songs on the chart at once! "Keep On" should still be on (without a bullet), and then he'll have "Like Jesus Does" nearing top 30 and the song with Jason & Luke at #2.

Wow! Eric has 4 songs on the chart now including the collaboration with Aldean and Bryan. None are descending quite yet, and none are holiday songs obviously. That's pretty impressive. I can't recall anything like that happening anytime recently. I'm anticipating "I'm Getting Stoned" to be the next single, though I suppose it could be either of the two on the chart also. If I'm right about that choice, charting 8/11 songs makes this era even more fantastic.

- Chase Rice - "How She Rolls" (#55 peak)

Comments:After waiting patiently the last few weeks, Jason Aldean and friends will finally sneak in at #1, with Gary Allan sliding down to #2. The Band Perry will hold at #3 but looks likely to be the next #1, possibly next week. Brad Paisley inches up another spot while Tim McGraw will hit the top 5. Little Big Town is also on the move and should jump up to #6. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift and Dierks Bentley continue to move slowly but are still hanging in there. Hunter Hayes has also cooled off a bit and will remain just outside the top 10, but he should get there next week. Blake Shelton and Lee Brice continue to move up rather quickly while both Kacey Musgraves and Casey James continue at a more steady clip. Chris Young and George Strait have had pretty good weeks but Lady Antebellum is closing in fast; their new single "Downtown" will likely hit the top 20. Kenny Chesney's new single "Pirate Flag" is off to a hot start, thanks to hourly airplay on Friday at Clear Channel stations. With only 3 days of airplay, Chesney looks likely to debut with more than 11 million and a debut close to the top 20, with a slight chance at maybe sneaking in. Look for Eric Church to jump into the top 30, with Darius Rucker and Jake Owen also on the move. Kip Moore and Easton Corbin should enter the top 40 and I think there's a pretty good chance that Billboard will grant Craig Morgan a re-entry. Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson, Jerrod Niemann, The Farm, Love & Theft, Craig Campbell, Montgomery Gentry, and Josh Turner all continue to struggle and each will likely take a couple steps back this week. Charlie Worsham continues a pretty good start while Aaron Lewis, Sarah Darling, and Train/Ashley Monroe continue pushing up the chart a bit. Joel Crouse should move up a few spots and looks to be off to a decent start. Look for a solid debut by Blackberry Smoke, with Tyler Farr also likely debuting. The #60 spot looks to be a toss-up between Parmalee and Greg Bates, with a couple other songs netting 'honorable mentions'.

Had these done much, much earlier, but was out with friends and didn't get to posting them. Sorry they're late! But better late than never, right? Top 60 Predictions for 2/23 Billboard Airplay chart, with projected audience totals (in millions) for the top 50: 1) The Band Perry – “Better Dig Two” (36.700) 2) Brad Paisley – “Southern Comfort Zone” (35.760) 3) Tim McGraw – “One Of Those Nights” (34.320) 4) Jason Aldean (ft. Taylor Swift) – “Highway Don’t Care” [NEW!] (1.250) 48-50) Kix Brooks – “Moonshine Road” [last week] (1.100) 48-50) Sarah Darling – “Home To Me” (1.050) 48-50) Train (ft. Ashley Monroe) – “Bruises” (0.990) 51-52) Blackberry Smoke – “Pretty Little Lie” 51-52) Joel Crouse – “If You Want Some” 53) Sweetwater Rain – “Starshine” 54) Chris Janson – “Better I Don’t” 55) Greg Bates – “Fill In The Blank” [NEW!]56) Parmalee – “Carolina” 57) Austin Webb – “It’s All Good” 58-60) Lonestar – “Maybe Someday” [NEW!]58-60) Tyler Farr – “Redneck Crazy” 58-60) Katie Armiger – “Playin’ With Fire” [NEW!]Debuts:- Tim McGraw (featuring Taylor Swift) - "Highway Don't Care"
- Greg Bates - "Fill In The Blank"
- Lonestar - "Maybe Someday"
- Katie Armiger - "Playin' With Fire"
Honorable Mention: Big & Rich's "Cheat On You", Chase Rice's "How She Rolls", and Rachel Farley's "Ain't Easy" Droppers:- Randy Houser - "How Country Feels" (#1 peak)
- Chris Cagle - "Let There Be Cowgirls" (#16 peak)
- Jason Aldean - "Night Train"
- Eric Church - "Hungover & Hard Up"
Comments:The Band Perry will score their 3rd #1, as "Better Dig Two" will move to #1. Brad Paisley has secured the Mediabase #1, but should finish #2 on Billboard. Tim McGraw will move up to #3 and it's very likely he'll move up to #1 as soon as TBP/Brad clear out. Meanwhile, Taylor makes a bit of a move this week and should move up to at least #7, and she could challenge Little Big Town for #6. Dierks Bentley's also still hanging in there, while Carrie and Hunter rebound a bit. Hunter will finally be in the top 10 after spending a couple weeks at #11. Blake Shelton and Lee Brice continue to look like future #1's and are next in line to enter the top 10. Kacey Musgraves continues to inch toward the top 10 and will still need a few more weeks to get there as she waits out some of the heavier hitters. The other Casey, Mr. James, might be near the end of his run with his song. There's a chance Casey could go recurrent but I'm thinking he'll get a grace week, since his loss has been relatively small. I do think, however, that Chris Cagle will go recurrent. Lady Antebellum's hot start continues and they could sneak ahead of Thompson Square and into the top 15. Chris Young and George Strait have had pretty good weeks and continue making steady progress further into the top 20. Look for Miranda Lambert to get back to the top 20, and Kenny Chesney should also jump up a few spots and into the top 20. After getting off to a relatively quick start, Dustin Lynch continues to struggle outside the top 20. Toby Keith has also really slowed down. That's what happens when Lady A and Kenny come out with new singles (and gobble up all the airplay), and when the other competition includes George Strait, Miranda Lambert, and now Florida Georgia Line and Eric Church, who are both coming up quickly from below. Darius Rucker should sneak into the top 30 this week. Kelly Clarkson and Jerrod Niemann have had really rough weeks and the future for their current singles looks quite murky. Craig Morgan has also had a rough week after re-entering the chart last week, and his return might be short-lived. Kip Moore continues to move up the chart nicely, however, while Love & Theft has had their best week in quite some time. Brett Eldredge and Montgomery Gentry should re-enter the top 40, with Craig Campbell still hanging in there and fighting to move up. It's much of the same for Charlie Worsham and Josh Turner...Charlie continues a pretty solid start, while Josh is making virtually no progress. Both Blackberry Smoke and Joel Crouse are off to fairly promising starts. Look for Tim McGraw & Taylor Swift's "Highway Don't Care" to easily nab the Hot Shot Debut honors, with a strong top 50 entry likely in store. Greg Bates will also see a nice debut and with album tracks by Jason Aldean and Eric Church likely falling off the chart, it looks like Lonestar and Katie Armiger have a decent chance to get in.

Interesting to see The Lumineers debut this week. If Mumford and Sons can, then I guess there's no reason why they can't as well.

Now see that's cheating! LOL. I'm usually always able to tell when songs will chart, as you just have to change the url on AllAccess to see who's scoring new audience contributions...but I would've never thought to change the code to check whether a song by The Lumineers would chart.

Comments:
The Band Perry spends a 2nd week at #1 with their smash hit "Better Dig Two", while Tim McGraw climbs up to #2 and will all-but-certainly be #1 next week. The rest of the top 10 is seeing a major shake-up. Brad Paisley's "Southern Comfort Zone" has completely collapsed and after peaking at #2 BB/#1 MB last weekend, it will already go recurrent on Billboard. Jason and Gary should both get one more week as their declines have been slower and steadier. But with quite a few songs going down at the same time, this allows for Taylor Swift, Little Big Town, and possibly Dierks Bentley to jump into the top 5. Taylor and LBT are neck and neck for the #3 position, while it'll be close between Dierks and Jason for the #5 spot. Of note is that both Taylor and LBT are projecting to a hair below the 30 million mark and either could come in at #3. In many recent weeks, we've had as many as 6 songs with 30 million or more, and on the 3/2 chart, the #3 song might not even have that much...basically, that's what you call a soft top 3, which will keep Taylor's #1 chances very small (I expect her to begin falling this week), while I think we might see a big surge by LBT as they try to close the gap up to Tim (other than the occasional chart or two, "Tornado" has performed better than "Begin Again" and "Tip It On Back", which is why I've always felt like LBT would be going further up the chart than Dierks and Taylor...and "Tornado" still looks very likely to sneak in at #1 between Tim and Carrie).
Blake Shelton will pick up his 11th straight top 10 hit, with Lee Brice only a week away from entering the top 10. Kacey Musgraves is still hanging in there and has top 10 aspirations, but Lady A is coming up fast and Kacey will probably have to let them past and into the top 10 first. Chris Young will return to the top 15 as "I Can Take It From There" is starting to take off a bit. Kenny Chesney's "Pirate Flag" will also bounce up a few spots while George Strait's "Give It All We Got Tonight" is showing some more life. Miranda Lambert will jump back into the top 20, with Florida Georgia Line and Toby Keith also entering the top 20. Toby has really slowed down, though, but not as much as Dustin Lynch. Rascal Flatts looks to be in reverse this week, while Brantley Gilbert has pressed hard on the gas and Eric Church remains in cruise control.
Gloriana should rebound a bit this week, but Kip Moore is still closing in; Kip's "Hey Pretty Girl" is off to a great start and will blast into the top 30. Darius Rucker should also enter the top 30 and with one more top 30 spot up for grabs, look for Kelly Clarkson to battle it out with Jake Owen. Jerrod Niemann continues to hang in there, with both Easton Corbin and Brett Eldredge set to move up a few spots as they gain some more traction. Tim & Taylor's "Highway Don't Care" duet will easily surge well into the top 40, all without having been officially sent to radio yet. Look for Craig Campbell and Montgomery Gentry to stumble back into the top 40.
Mumford & Sons' "I Will Wait" is making big strides towards becoming a top 40 country hit after already topping the Rock and Alternative songs charts and performing admirably on the pop chart as well. The song has made a significant dent on the major charts of nearly a dozen different countries. Meanwhile, another 'rock' guy, Aaron Lewis, is also doing decently well at country radio, as his song "Forever" should bound up a few more spots this week. Josh Turner, however, may have hit the end of the line, and Uncle Kracker isn't doing so hot either. Gary Allan's new single "Pieces" is off to a very strong early start and is top 50 bound, while newcomers Blackberry Smoke and Joel Crouse are also on the move. Early signs look pretty good for the latest from Greg Bates and Parmalee, while Chris Janson is also picking up some steam.
Katie Armiger and Randy Houser should see the highest debuts this week, while Big & Rich might finally sneak on with "Cheat On You". Tyler Farr's "Redneck Crazy" might re-enter as well, a week before adds date, though he'll have some competition from Rachel Farley's debut "Ain't Easy", Jason Aldean's "1994", Lonestar's "Maybe Someday", and Gretchen Wilson's "Still Rollin'".

You can't find it in your heart to suggest Craig Morgan's going recurrent? I'm not anywhere near 100% convinced but I'll give it a 55% chance that he leaves.
This could be the last chart week for Uncle Kracker. He passed Kid Rock on the Whitburn list with this song and I guess he's accomplished what he wanted. Doesn't look like a great candidate to rebullet.
Thanks for the vote of confidence that KeVin and Jerrod will rebullet. Hope you're right. (KeVin is Kelly + Vince.)
Did you boot Brad because of airplay, or spins, or both?

Did you boot Brad because of airplay, or spins, or both? Craig Morgan could leave but he's up enough in spins that I think he'll probably manage to re-bullet, albeit barely. I like your 55% chance though, so I should've probably at least mentioned that he could leave (again). I agree that it's probably the last week for Uncle Kracker, and I think Josh Turner is done too, though he'll get 2 more weeks since he was still bulleted on the 2/23 chart. "Find Me A Baby" isn't all that close to the top 40 audience-wise, and the Mediabase bullet is down below -100, so I doubt Josh recovers. Brad gets booted on account of both. He should be 11th in audience, behind Blake...maybe he'd even be 12th if Lee Brice can sneak ahead but it won't matter. And in spins, he's already 300 below Blake and Gary in today's MB update, and SCZ has been losing 400 spins a day for the last couple of days, so with the extra day in the BB week, I see no scenario that gives Brad even a slight chance at being higher than 11th in spins. He'll probably be 12th actually, below Lee in spins, even if he's not quite below Lee in audience.

I'm needlessly excited for monday's chart lol It looks like 3 of the top 10 songs may be falling off the chart and I'm hoping they do so Kacey Musgraves can sneak into the top 10.
It looks to me like Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley and Taylor Swift all have the potential to go reccurent. Dierks and Taylor could both hold on but I'm leaning towards them both faling off which would be great for songs to have room to move up.

As the fearless forecaster someguy wrote earlier this week, it does look as if Taylor's going to manage to drop off this week. I don't think Dierks will do that as well, but it would be fine with me if he went. And there's no doubt about Jason Aldean leaving, so you'll get at least 2 of your preferred 3 songs going.
It would be so nice if, one of these weeks, we see Kasey Musgraves in the top 10. She's gaining this week, but can it be enough?
Musgraves is up 800k since Monday on MB. Lady A is up 2.8 million, and even if you translate that down a bit, the gain is easily enough to make up the 600k Billboard gap and put Lady A ahead of Kasey on next week's Billboard.
Then we have two songs (Thompson Square and Chesney) who were behind Kasey on last week's Billboard by 1.9 million. So far on MB, TS has gained almost 3 million and Chesney about 2.7 million. Again there is a translation factor, so it could be that Musgraves still leads both of them, and at any rate is ahead of Chesney.
But we've still got 2 days to go. And most days see those other two songs outgaining MGR by a good bit. If they do it again, we'll be disappointed -- it's nice to see top 10 songs making room for MGR, and frustrating seeing MGR unable to take advantage of the opportunity. Even 3 songs leaving might not be enough.
If Musgraves' label people just read this thread, they'd know that this weekend is the time to accelerate.

Dierks won't leave. He'll get another week. I don't think he's lost enough audience, and he definitely hasn't lost enough spins.
As for Kacey, I don't like her top 10 chances much. She's up 4 spins at DG's Mainstream Country station, and that's roughly 400k of her gain that won't translate to Billboard. Kenny's up 4 spins there too but he's had much bigger gains. Kacey's other pursuers, Thompson Square and Chris Young, are flat at MC so all of their gains should translate normally. I know there are 2 Dial Global stations (MC & Hot Country), but HC contributes much less audience that I don't worry about it all that much. MC is the one that can really goof up the numbers.
ABC song (Aldean/Bryan/Church) definitely leaves. Since we've established that Lady A will be passing Kacey, we can assign ABC's top ten spot to "Downtown". That just means that for Taylor to leave, she'll have to fall below either Kacey, Kenny, Chris, or T2 in spins. I don't think Taylor will leave via loss of audience but I think she can do it due to spins loss. However, I'm not so sure that I'm as sure as the rest of you.
Taylor was 2074 spins ahead of Kacey on the 3/9 Billboard chart. She was 2297 ahead of Thompson Square, 2408 ahead of Kenny, and 2114 ahead of Chris Young. Taylor's bullet is -1539 on Mediabase right now, with 2 days to go. She lost 402 spins in today's update, and I figure her weekend losses will accelerate even more. Maybe she loses 850 spins in the last 2 days (today & tomorrow). That would make for a 7-day loss on Mediabase of 2389 spins...but, she won't lose that much on Billboard.
Taylor's BB to MB ratio was only about 0.675 on the 3/9 BB chart. So, applying that to her negative bullet gets you about 1612 for a spins loss on BB. Kacey and Chris were closest to her in spins, so one of them would have to do the rest to close the gap up to Taylor. We know Kacey was 2074 spins behind, and Chris was 2114 spins behind. Kacey's MB bullet is only 221 right now...I don't think she's gained enough to close the gap between 2074 (Taylor's lead on Monday) and 1612 (projected spins loss for Taylor this week).
Chris Young might make it the most interesting. His MB bullet is 421 right now. His BB bullet will probably wind up in the 300-350 range but if the projection for Taylor is accurate, and she does 'only' lose 1612 spins on BB, Chris would need to gain the other 500 spins himself (since he trailed Taylor by 2114 spins on Monday's BB chart).
I'm really on the fence with Taylor. If her translation is a little steeper--say, a ratio closer to 0.7, then she might wind up losing closer to 1700 spins. Maybe her weekend losses are even more staggering than they have been, and she helps us out by losing 1800 spins on BB...I'd feel a lot more confident then about her leaving.
If she doesn't, she'll leave next week then...but that raises the question, will Kacey still be gaining a week from now? She's already secured a top 10 placement on Mediabase on last Sunday's chart. We know that there will be 3 top 10 spots opening up on the next 2 charts...ABC leaves on the 3/16 chart, Dierks will be gone on the 3/23 chart, and Taylor will leave on either one of them. Lady A automatically gets the first open top 10 spot, but that leaves 2 spots available and 4 artists (Kacey, Chris, Kenny, T2) battling it out.
I hope Taylor's gone off the chart on Monday, but I'm not entirely convinced yet.

I enjoyed reading that post! I think the ratio might change a little, and in a way that's hard to predict -- a big loss like this can affect the ratio substantially. And that's part of what keeps me believing that recurrency on Billboard is a possibility.
Right now I'll go with a flat tie, a 50-50 chance. But last Sunday morning her spins increase was 167, so I think she has a chance to post an impressive 500 spin loss tomorrow morning. Anything more than 450 will have me revising my percentage up to 60% and anything in the 500 range will get me to go to 70%. Although she did post a spins loss on Monday morning, which I should be factoring in....

@jhomes while everything you say makes sense I'm going to ignore it all in my blind hope that Kacey makes the top 10 this week lol
Also good read! :)

^Lol, I guess there's a chance but I don't think I can put it any higher than 35% or so. Lady A takes Jason's spot, and then Kacey will need Taylor to leave while also holding off Kenny, Chris, and Thompson Square...and they've all had big weeks.
My main hope is that, if Kacey can't get it done on Monday, that Mercury will stick with it for another week or two. I understand that it's slowed up a bit at radio but it's about to go Gold and it really is quite the hit despite some hesitancy from radio.

She actually lost 498. I will boost her chance of going recurrent to 70% and wait for tomorrow's update. None of her pursuers put up great overnight spin totals but they're doing their best. In other news, it's nice to see Brad Paisley and Band Perry crack the MB top 50 along with ZBB this week. Hard to follow invisible songs, much less make predictions for them. They're trying to make life easy for you, Jamie! Now you can predict strong debuts for them. And they're about to make life miserable for Jerrod Niemann, who can't even crack the top 30 on this sad and possibly fatal chart run. Fatal to his radio career, that is. How much longer can this song (and this artist) keep getting chances? Oh well, I can still enjoy his music.

How much longer can this song (and this artist) keep getting chances? Oh well, I can still enjoy his music. Brad and TBP weren't gonna be too tough to guess. Both songs were sent to radio on Monday so I've been watching them on AllAccess. If you click on the song titles, you can navigate to a list of stations called "starters" and since these 2 songs were both sent to radio on Monday, every spin would be accounted for under the 'starters' since that page is a list of the stations who've added the song within the past 7 days. So, there you go...that's my secret for predicting debuts when a big new song is sent to radio. For the record, I've got Brad debuting at #41 and TBP at #42, assuming Taylor leaves. I've got Gary Allan and Montgomery Gentry in the 39-40 spots, with Mumford & Sons, Aaron Lewis, and Zac Brown Band in the 43-45 spots...and everyone in that 39-45 range should be pretty close to each other. I'm not sure if I'm going to get my predictions up today...that takes me a while to do and I don't have a lot of time today. Maybe I'll post them, but just not the numbers I've been posting with them lately. That doesn't take long at all; it's the numbers part of it that takes a while, the details, and I'm nerdy so I always like getting the details as right as I can. Poor Jerrod. I agree, he's gonna have a tough go of it--not just with this song, but with getting back on radio again. I've got him at #31 again, same spot as last week, as Aldean and Tim/Taylor should move ahead. Maybe it'd be better if Jerrod actually did lose his deal with Sony...after all, look at how Randy Houser has come back on a small label where he's one of the big names. Maybe Jerrod could do that too (but it'd probably be a few years down the road, just like it was with Houser). I can't see Jerrod scoring any hits in the near future, unfortunately :(

Anyone know the highest debut for a non-lead single? Top 20 is just unacceptable.
And I had no idea Linda Ronstadt was a real person. I forgot this board does the April Fools things, so I just thought it was some cover by someone on one of those tv competitions, but then I saw Carrie and Kelly messed up and remembered Taylor's version was getting a couple plays on the west coast.

^I don't know if this is the record for a non-lead single, but in 2007 Kenny Chesney debuted at #16 with Don't Blink (the second single from Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates). At the time it was the highest debuting song ever during the SoundScan era. He held the honor for exactly one week before Garth had his #1 debut with More Than a Memory.
Linda Ronstadt was one of the biggest pop stars in the mid- to late-70s. She was especially known at the time for doing remakes of songs originally from artists such as Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers. She also had a fair amount of country success, both as a solo artist and as part of The Trio (along with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris). More recently I think much of her music has been in the jazz area, which is why she fits in with the April Fool's Day theme.
