Predict, who will have THE BIGGER comeback among these 3 divas in US. ;)
These 3 divas had previous albums underperformed. They set to comeback in 2012.
Madonna: Her last effort was The Celebration in 2009, another greatest hits from her, whcih didn't sell well in US and the lead single, Celebration also failed to garner much attention on Hot 100. Her last studio album was Hard Candy in 2008, opened by a big lead single 4 Minutes, a duet with Justin Timberlake, but the follow singles didn't get some success. The album debuted at #1 and went gold, becoming one of her lowest selling albums in US. Her new comeback album is already hyped, especially the new lead single which is said to feature Nicki Minaj and MIA.
Mariah: Her last effort was her 2nd Xmas album, MCIIU in 2010, it did moderately great for a Xmas album, went gold with a moderate hit Oh Santa. Her last studio album was Memoirs in 2009, opened by a top 10 hit Obsessed, but the follow up singles didn't get some success. The album infamously failed to hit #1 spot on Billboard 200, beaten by other heavy competition, Paramore & Barbra. It still went gold but remained her lowest selling non Xmas studio album. Currently, she's hyped again after her successful weight loss, and another Xmas hype, including Justin Bieber duet.
Xtina: Her last effort was Burlesque soudntrack, which surprisingly, did quite well, went gold, despite didn't garner significant hits. Her last studio album was Bionic, in 2010, infamously became one of the biggest flop albums from big stars. The lead single Not Myself Tonight failed to garner much attention, only a barely top 25 hit, as well the follow up singles. The album debuted at #3 but failed to even reached gold status. Currently, she's hyped again thanks to The Voice and she also surprisingly got one of the biggest hits of the year, her first #1 in a decade, Moves Like Jagger, a duet with Maroon 5

A tough one. I could see all of them generating some decent-to-large buzz and fizzling out with bland material, or catching on again. In terms of likeliness at this point, where no one has heard anything, I'd rank their comeback potential as: 1. Madonna 2. Christina 3. Mariah

Very tough prediction, to be honest, i predict all of the 3 to garner bigger era compared to their previous era. I think Xtina will get the bigger comeback among the 3, especially because she will have huge The Voice hype. Moves Like Jagger was just the beginning. It's followed up by Mariah and then Madonna. But Mariah and Madonna may swift to each other. Both Mariah and Madonna are missed by general public imo because of no new studio album in a few years.

I think Madonna will have a huge 2012 and everyone will be calling it this miraculous comeback when in reality it will have been meticulously crafted and plotted by Madonna, Universal and Live Nation from start to finish months and months in advance. People can never tell when they're buying in to hype and slick/omnipresent marketing.
Hopefully she'll have the material to back it up and make the comeback seem deserved after it's all said and done.

Don't care if other artists get the bigger comeback, but the question in this poll is who will get the bigger comeback among these 3 divas, it doesn't mean that one of the 3 will get the biggest comeback overall in 2012

I am probably crazy, but I could see all of them ending up either around gold or around platinum, but no higher and not really having a massive comeback. Mariah probably has the easiest set up with radio friendliness so maybe her. I may be biased about Madonna because the demo of her single was really that bad for me They will screw up Christina for sure.

Christina
I could see Mariah and Madonna maybe getting hits with their lead singles and selling 400k-1M.

I don't see Madonna doing any better than she did with Hard Candy. Unless she really comes back with a better material, but at this point, that seems unlikely. I also don't see Mariah doing that much better than Memoirs, I just feel like they are too old to be mainstream (keep in mind that ageism exists in America).
Christina is the one who has the better chance, but it all comes down to her persona. If she can get herself on track and not look a mess like nowadays, I'm sure she can come back bigger than before.

I don't see Christina ever making a big comeback, and I feel like Madonna's album will be Hard Candy 2.0. Hopefully Mariah can pull in E=MC2 numbers.

I think Madonna's single will be really big, but I doubt the album will end up selling well in the end.
With Mariah, it will really depend on her material. If its good and she doesn't decide to release any flop covers for her 2nd single, she'll have a great era.
Material will also be Christina's problem. I think had she lead off with a more progressive sounding song, Bionic wouldn't have been so disastrous. NMT was, apparently too generic and unoriginal (even though I loved it).

I can see Madonna having another single be a hit (like '4 Minutes') did. I don't see any other song being a hit though.
Mariah and Xtina won't do much I don't think.

I think they all have about an equal chance to go gold, so it comes down to how that compares in relation to their previous attempts. In this case Christina has the most to gain. If Mariah and Madonna go gold they'll basically be treading water but if Christina goes gold this will be a big boost for her. Even just having a successful solo single seems like it will mean so much more for Christina than the M's, because she is trying to bounce back from a career low. That said, Christina will also be the one who has to work the hardest for that gold album/hit single. Mariah and Madonna have the advantage of more cache to their 'name brand' status, plus you can never discount the possibility that RCA will screw something up in their typical RCA way.

Madonna and Mariah are both well past their primes and Christina gets a lot of exposure on the Voice, so I think Christina will have a better performance on the chart.
In terms of pure money, Modonna can dwarf all three if she decides to do a worldwide tour.

I seriously think if Christina has the right material this time around, she will surprise us.

1. Christina - I think she has the most potential to be big again at radio. Moves Like Jagger got her back on radio, now if she puts out the right material I think she can chart with her own single (as well as the help of The Voice)
2. Madonna - I put her #2 because of the Super Bowl. She'll have a lot of exposure in the early part of the year and I'm sure a tour would be big.
3. Mariah - I'm sure she'll sell enough and maybe get a hit from the first single.

I don't think Christina having a comeback next year (maybe not reaching a career high, but at least getting back on track) is that farfetched. Burlesque did much better than expected, and the soundtrack (which is dominated by her songs) sold more than her last studio album. The Voice got her back in the public eye and seemingly improved her reputation. Also Moves Like Jagger, guest appearance or not, got her played on the radio more than she has been in almost a decade. Her public profile is definitely way up from where it was when she put out Bionic.

I'm wanting and hoping for Madonna to do it. But I don't think any of the three will really be shaking things up. They will probably each have some sort of middle-road/moderate success.

I think they all have potential for a similar level of success in very different ways. This is all total speculation.
Madonna - Will follow the pattern of a pretty successful lead single followed by something that peaks around 50, and then not much time or attention spent on further singles. If the bigger comeback is judged on the highest performing single, I think she'll win.
Christina - I think she'll lead off with something much safer than her last few lead singles. It'll work something kind of like "Through The Rain".. very inoffensive but will show off her voice. Not saying I think it'll be a ballad, but it won't be raunchy at all. I will guess it'll work a little better than Through The Rain did success-wise. She'll hit the top 20, and she'll release something slightly more exciting for another top 20 and longevity with the album. I think she'll have the biggest comeback with total longevity and album sales.
Mariah - I'm interested to see what direction she goes after having her twins. I'm sure she'll write about it. To me, her potential for success depends on how bumble gum she goes and whether she goes for a pop sound or a more R&B sound. If she goes for an R&B sound, I think she'll be the most successful at conquering her format. All she has to do is put out some good songs to have a string of singles that do well on the R&B chart.

I like how the result is almost tied so far, a proof that we have no clear idea who will be more successful than the others in 2012 :)

Mariah. And I say that because she's been the most consistent with hits and looks the best out of all three.
Then, I'd say Madonna.
Christina's odds are low because of that terrible personality, her ever diminishing "powerful voice", and the fact she's let her body go.
