I don't like it. That "can anybody get down like us" part feels so out of place. And the chorus is Die Young/Good Feeling/Hangover part 50.

Now in full, I love it even more! The pre-chorus is the best part!!! I wonder if they are going to do a music video or something

I cannot get enough of it! I've been begging for a summer smash from her since 2000 and my appetite has finally been fed! Can't wait to see this dominating iTunes the minute it's available for download. The pre-chorus is the best part!!! From what I've read on sites, almost everyone's favorite part is 'Ooh la la baby don't be shy...' so I consider that to be your favorite part as well. Isn't that the chorus though?

Cute, fun, dancey summer jam. However, I am completely sick of Dr. Luke, his bag of tricks has long since lost its charm.

It's a nice song! But it's way too reminiscent of every other Dr. Luke song in several parts.

It's alright. I appreciate everything she does. This is basic FF leftover fluff, but there are parts I really like.
Kind of sounds like '3', which is my favorite Britney song, so it's not half bad. Perfect for a soundtrack or something so this works. Lyrics are awful lol.

You can tell it's a Femme Fatale leftover. And if it isn't it sure sounds like one! It sounds like a more breezy, lighter version of 3 to me more then anything on Femme Fatale. I actually think this experimentation was in a way trying to get Britney to move on from more of the heavily dance influenced tracks that she has been utilizing since Blackout. Thus the heavy guitar elements and more teen-pop vibe from her earlier days being flirted with on this track. In that regard it reminds me a ton of 3, which also seemed to be heavily influenced from Britney's earlier moments. The breakdown however does remind me a bit of Trouble For Me, but as it's been expressed beforehand that breakdown has been utilized by every dance producer from Dr. Luke to will.i.am to Calvin Harris to Afrojack to David Guetta, so there is nothing all that different there.

Why isn't a thread for this song lighting up the pop forum right now? Is there any doubt that this is getting the single treatment? Surely not.

I think there will be more excitement once we have information on the release. I don't doubt this will do well on CHR/Pop, or that this couldn't perform well for her but I just hope they package the release appropriately. Ideally release on a Monday for a full week of sales, get a proper lyric video together, put it on Spotify immediately and maybe even link it with the trailer or something so that it can chart properly.

Listening to this on repeat last night gave the urge to go and listen to "Brave New Girl" and rediscover what a great album gem it is.
So after the initial excitement of this being a new Britney song, I definitely agree with the general sentiment other posters have towards Dr. Luke. Hopefully this will be the last song she does with Dr. Luke and co. It's a cute, fun song that does its job but it is a typical, by-the-numbers, Dr. Luke song. Yes, this is just a soundtrack song for the Smurfs but with all the hitmakers involved and the big press release they made just to announce this song, I kind of expected more. I think it had the potential to be better and it feels like the effort just wasn't there.

I actually don't think the handicap (if there is one -- I never had high expectations for a soundtrack single) comes from Dr. Luke as much as it's designed particularly for children and families, who are going to be interested in watching Smurfs 2. I don't really see how this song can be edgier (if that is what we are looking for) and still end up being child friendly, this seems to be designed for Disney's target audience with family friendly sound and lyrics, which makes sense.

I don't really see how this song can be edgier (if that is what we are looking for) and still end up being child friendly, this seems to be designed for Disney's target audience with family friendly sound and lyrics, which makes sense. I'm not necessarily looking for edgier. I just expected it to be better given all the hitmakers involved. Just b/c it's geared towards kids doesn't necessarily mean its appeal or quality has to be hindered. Britney did release songs in this vein during the early part of her career but that didn't stop some of those songs from being pop perfection (or at least very great pop songs) and appealing to both kids and older groups. (You Drive Me) Crazy (Stop Remix) is prime example of this. I know it wasn't a soundtrack song for a family/kids movie but it did appeal to many kids and that didn't stop it from also being appealing to other age groups. It also did not hinder it from being a top notch pop song; however, I do like it, especially the pre-chorus and bridge. It adequately fulfills the role it needs to and is fine for what it is, so I'm not particularly bothered by it, but I still assert that it could have been better and still do its job.

On the whole FF reject top, Bonnie McKee talked about writing OLL specifically for the movie. The lyrics/production are obviously a bit more child-oriented so I definitely don't think it was for FF for that reason as well.

This is a fun, light song. I prefer when Britney sings more in full voice like she does here.
Does anyone else think the song sounds similar to Madonna's "Superstar"?

Britney Spears Britney Spears 23m "I heard an early demo of #OohLaLa smurfed its way onto the internet today :( The real version will be at radio and iTunes June 16th :)" Is her team crazy? That's a whole month away. People will already be over it at that point. Does anyone else think the song sounds similar to Madonna's "Superstar"? People keep saying this, but other than the use of the phrase "Ooh La La," which is common phrase, I don't hear any similarities.

The Smurfs 2 isn't out until July 31st. They surely want the song to help promote the movie so I'm not surprised that they're waiting. The leak happened super early. I'm assuming Britney's team really didn't have much of a choice in the matter. Oh well, it's not a single for the actual album so I don't really care how it's handled lol. I do think it can still do well though even if it's released late to us who have already hear it.

Delaying this single will surely kill any chance it has at mainstream success (at least in terms of radio, it will also probably harm sales too). It would be better to let the song climb up the charts two-three months early then to let this flounder around the internet for a month and then have it end up dead on arrival because of it. Radio is not going to want to touch an old song that has all the novelty worn off of it. Better to strike now, then watch this wither because the anticipation is gone.

I agree with Lockheart, i'm not feeling the breakdown either. Oh, this song also reminds me of BIG FAT BASS a bit. idk maybe just me.
This is just a soundtrack so i don't really 'care' about the sales (even tho i'm sure it will do well). How many copies do you guys think #ooh will sell in its debut? 200k?300k?
Since Britney wrote that this is just a demo, i will 'postpone' listening to it 'again' until June 16th. lol.
