I agree with Lockheart, i'm not feeling the breakdown either. Oh, this song also reminds me of BIG FAT BASS a bit. idk maybe just me. This is just a soundtrack so i don't really 'care' about the sales (even tho i'm sure it will do well). How many copies do you guys think #ooh will sell in its debut? 200k?300k? Since Britney wrote that this is just a demo, i will 'postpone' listening to it 'again' until June 16th. lol. Wow, I definitely disagree! The breakdown is the most promising part of the song and gives it a certain level of edge, plus it incorporates that pounding beat well.

I read that ' Britney will dominate 2013 ' was trending yesterday on twitter. Is that right?

^ Yes, it was.
Anyway, I really like the new song. It's cute, and fluffy, and completely harmless, and it works perfectly for a kids' movie. Considering she said upfront that she recorded it mainly for her boys, I wasn't expecting anything hard-hitting.

Ooh La La is getting the video treatment. The director is Marc Klasfeld.

Ooh La La is getting the video treatment. The director is Marc Klasfeld. I hope we don't get an animated video I'm hoping somewhere in the vein of CG or IWG. I still don't think the song will do that much. But she's Britney. Anything can happen. She can make a corny song like this into a hit

I am still up in the air on Ooh La La. And I love Britney Jean. She could cough over a beat and I would put it on repeat but the chorus is what brings the song down for me. I love the verse and pre-chorus. I especially like her actually singing on the verse. I think that is what the chorus is missing, it's so airy and doesn't pack a punch in her delivery. I wish she was using her full voice on the chorus. I may be in the minority but I am a fan of Scream & Shout. The attitude and everything. I am just glad it isn't the first single and is just for the soundtrack. But since it seems to be getting the single treatment, I don't want to flop and be a blemish on her career. Sorry for the rambling.

How often do supposed leaks of demo turn out to be the real thing anyways? i'm somewhat hoping that the breakdown in the middle was removed. too BEP/OMG for my liking and doesnt fit the song "Give Me All Your Luvin'" leaked as a "demo" in December, if not sooner, only to officially premiere in February with no changes whatsoever. That's not true. They added Nicki and MIA to the bridge. The demo was just Madonna. The "changes" that people were hoping for was the overall sound.

Scream and Shout is still charting in several countries but I though I'd post a chart update, in celebration of it hitting the 3 million mark recently in the US (and also recently being certified 6x platinum in Australia).

I hate that for Britney she constantly has to be so reminded of her past. Every news story I see covering what is happening to Amanda Bynes is comparing what she's going through to what Britney went through in 2007. The people around her probably dont even want her to turn on her tv (not that she does anyway) because i'm sure they know they'll be comparing Amanda to Britney.

It's logical to be compated in the same way Brit was compared to Madonna back in her early years.
I can't wait for Ooh La La to be released in hq. 'I see that spark flashing in your eye' is in my head for days now!!

For all the Brit fans here, if your copy of ...Baby One More Time is no longer working or if you know someone who is in desperate need of it, go to your local Walmart, it's ONLY $5. That is all.

Naughty Boy: "I'm Working With Britney Spears On Her New Album"The 'La La La' producer speaks to Capital FM about his planned collaboration with the pop superstar. Naughty Boy has revealed that he is working with Britney Spears on her new album. The producer, who is set to perform at Capital FM's Summertime Ball in June, said William Orbit would also be involved in the recording session.Orbit has previously been linked with Britney during the recording process for her 'Femme Fatale' album. Speaking to Capital FM, Naughty Boy said: "Britney Spears might be coming soon. William Orbit who's producing some [of her new album], they're coming down to the studio, him and Britney to work together with me. "It sounds really good. I've always wanted to work with her but I'd love to do something a bit different." Source (with video): www.capitalfm.com/artists/naughty-boy/news/britney-spears-new-album/

The only thing about that I don't like is the fact that it tells me they're still very much in the conceptual stage.

William Orbit is so 1999... He already was called for Femme Fatale and his work wasn't "good enough"... I mean, Some Girls from Madonna's MDNA was supposed to be one of his Femme Fatale's leftovers... so... I'm not that crazy about this idea... Orbit is so overrated

William Orbit is so 1999... He already was called for Femme Fatale and his work wasn't "good enough"... I mean, Some Girls from Madonna's MDNA was supposed to be one of his Femme Fatale's leftovers... so... I'm not that crazy about this idea... Orbit is so overrated I completely agree! His production style is extremely generic and dated now. Britney really isn't like Madonna at all and doesn't vibe well with these electronic producers like she does. She even met with William Orbit before and didn't record anything due to their lack of chemistry, the exact same thing happened with The DFA. Funny enough, Britney actually co-produced, co-wrote and arranged her vocals when she worked with Tricky Stewart (an urban producer) for In the Zone (The Hook Up, Sippin On, Me Against the Music), a bit reminiscent of the way Janet Jackson works with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. I just really hope the new album is very hip-hop inspired like she said and she stays away from the electro and bubblegum songs. The edgier style of hip-hop combined with pop really is her forte and what she should be doing, especially since it brings out passion from her with performances. Even one of her most iconic hits, Slave 4 U is an urban song and so is her favorite song to perform (Boys). Hopefully Will.i.am and the label don't mess it up and she continues working the top urban producers in the industry (Hit Boy, Danja, Roccstar, Neptunes, etc) to come back with a new style. It's logical to be compated in the same way Brit was compared to Madonna back in her early years. Those comparisons seemed ignorant and never really made sense to me. Britney's image, voice, style and performances are more similar to Janet Jackson, not Madonna. I find the whole Amanda situation alittle strange though, lol. I really don't think their situations are all that similar.

Britney's image, voice, style and performances are more similar to Janet Jackson, not Madonna. The comparisons between Britney and Madonna in their earlier careers made a lot of sense. They were both the prime female provocateurs and performers at the beginning of their careers and both inspired major controversy for their sexual performances, identities and images. So in that light the comparisons are worth their salt. Britney's virgin/whore dichotomy is very reminiscent of Madonna's ideology in regards to sex for instance although she executed it very differently. Musically they also bare a lot of similarities as both went from doing predominantly bubble gum pop melodies and later switching them off for more daring and flavorful dance inspired music. I would say the only time Britney bore resemblance to Janet was during the Britney era as the music in general is all very Janet. Most of the music Britney has recorded though has been more akin to Madonna's back catalog.

I would say the only time Britney bore resemblance to Janet was during the Britney era as the music in general is all very Janet. Most of the music Britney has recorded though has been more akin to Madonna's back catalog. They may have had similar impacts but that's it really. Britney's also mentioned Janet as an influence countless times and even Tweeted her two weeks ago saying how she's been a fan her whole life, she also covered "Black Cat" and "Nasty" on tour. Madonna was known for her sexuality but in a completely different way, and caused controversy through politics and religion. Britney and Janet had shock value revolving mainly around their evolution from teenage innocence to sexuality. Even Britney's 2000 VMA performance seemed to be a reference to Janet's "I Get Lonely" performances, the shock value there had nothing Madonna about it. The pose she did at the end was also a reference to Janet's VMA performance of "Black Cat". Britney's also referenced Janet a few times in her videos, with "Pleasure Principle" video in "Stronger", "Son of a Gun" video in the Overprotected Remix and "Love Will Never Do (Without You)" in "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know". Alot of Britney's photoshoots were also direct references to Janet including some from the Oops, Britney and In the Zone albums. Britney also remade Janet's infamous Rolling Stone cover for her 2011 VMAs promo. Janet also started out with a clean and virginal image and her first two albums pre-"Control" were both bubblegum. One of her earliest hits "Let's Wait Awhile" was even about abstinence. Like Britney, she became more sexual as time went on rather than always being a bit vulgar and over the top like Madonna. The sweet but sexy, innocent to sex vixen image was much more comparable to Janet. And of course, their performing styles are similar with them both being dancers who do athletic choreography. Even recently, the end of the "Hold it Against Me" routine is inspired by "That's the Way Love Goes" (0:20 - 0:28). The "Lace and Leather" performance on the Femme Fatale Tour is also directly inspired from Janet's performance of "Rope Burn" on The Velvet Rope Tour. The dancers coming from the ceiling for the opening of the Circus Tour was also inspired by Janet's "If" video, Britney even mentioned it herself. Musically, I think Britney is more unique but comparable to Janet in alot of ways, specifically with the Britney, In the Zone and Blackout albums. There's really not many similarities to Madonna at all there. Even Britney's said Slave 4 U, Boys, Touch of My Hand, Showdown and others were Janet influenced, and a few reviews noticed similarities to Janet with Break the Ice, Perfect Lover and other Blackout songs. As artists, she's also more similar to Janet with the way she connects mainly with urban producers and seems alienated by electronic ones. Her and Janet even both wrote piano ballads titled "Everytime" about the same subject. But to me, the most notable proof of Janet's influence on Britney is the "Me Against the Music" video. Her outfits seemed similar to what Janet wore in the "Alright" and "I Get Lonely" videos, and Britney was doing intense hip-hop inspired choreographed routines like Janet would all while Madonna was only doing Yoga poses. Even the song sounded like something Janet would've done! For the most part, Britney and Madonna honestly couldn't be more different. The only person who legitimately seems actually similar to Madonna from this generation is Gaga, and Britney's nothing like that. Not to go off topic, but the Janet influence seems to be there much more than Madonna's and it really should be recognized, especially since the things fans love about Britney (image, voice, sexuality, personality, dancing) are more comparable to her.
