Edens Edge definitely has a fair share of religious-sounding tracks on their album. Hopefully the other ones are like Amen and don't really sound as their titles may suggest. I'm here for country music, not CCM; and while I love plenty of good country songs that follow such topics, a song title like "Christ Alone" makes me weary of it being cheesy and over-the-top. At any rate, I'm looking forward to hearing their album in full. "Who Am I Drinking Tonight" sounds like an interesting track. "Christ Alone" is a CCM Hymn.

Beautiful cover for Gloriana. Now give us a tracklist. They have 9 tracks named in the bio on their site, so that's probably most of them--just maybe 1-3 more or so. Here's the new bio from their website: Now Tom, Mike, and Rachel have funneled everything they’ve learned into their second album, A Thousand Miles Left Behind, due for release in Summer 2012. “We’ve grown up a lot as a band,” Mike says. “We’ve honed in on singing and playing together and have really found our sound as a group.” This time around, the group were intent on revealing more of themselves as artists. “On this record, we wanted to tell stories,” says Rachel. “I think people will be able to relate to a lot of these songs because they’re honest and come from a place that’s real.” The result is an appealing mix of up-tempo, good-time numbers: “Wanna Take You Home,” “Sunset Lovin’,” “Go On…Miss Me,” “Doin’ It Our Way", and graceful, heartfelt tunes: current single “(Kissed You) Good Night,” “Can’t Shake You,” “Turn My World Around,” “Carolina Rose,” and “Soldier Song”. “(Kissed You) Good Night” is climbing the country charts, while its accompanying video (starring Megan Park and Tyler Hilton) had its premiere on ABC Family in January.
“Like any new act, we were finding ourselves on the first record — in the recording process and as musicians,” Tom says. “The new album really just feels like us, who and where we are now, to the point where we know exactly what we want to do and how to get there.”

That promo shot from the Gloriana album appeared last year already (when news broke that Cheyenne was leaving and Gloriana would continue as a trio) and I always thought it was a beautiful picture and would be a GREAT album cover, so I'm thrilled that they went with that.
Hopefully the rest of the material on the album is as good as "(Kissed You) Good Night". I may have to get the album then--the cover alone makes me want to get it! ;)

"In Christ Alone" is a popular Christian hymn, but the song "Christ Alone" by Edens Edge is not that same song. It was one of the songs released on their debut EP last year so I'm sure you can find it on YouTube, or the EP may still be on iTunes.

^Yeah, I was gonna post the same thing. The Edens Edge song "Christ Alone" was written by their friend Steve Smith and is not the hymn, but it is a faith-based song. I think I read on their bio that band member Dean Berner said it was a very universal appealing song. I haven't heard it yet.

I saw them sing "Christ Alone" on a webcast from a Minneapolis radio concert a few months ago. It was quite good!

I skimmed and didn't see this posted but it's about Jason Aldean's new album. CNN: You're new album comes out in October. What should listeners expect to hear that's different? Aldean: When it comes to albums, I think it's important to never get away completely from what got you to this point, and obviously, what's worked for you. That said you don't want to go out and continue to make the same albums over and over -- that's going to be kind of boring too. So you know for me it was about going in and finding the best songs we could find and trying to put together a record that I felt like was you know, just as good if not better than the previous record. I think "My Kinda Party," that album, was so successful, it's going to be really hard to compare any album to that one. Now [I'm] not saying that I don't hope this next record doesn't come out and blow the doors off of that one, but you can't really expect that. You've just kind of got to go in and make what you feel like is a great record and put it out there and hope people dig it. credit: www.cnn.com/2012/05/22/showbiz/jason-aldean-kinda-party/index.html

"Pallbearer" is such a strong song with great imagery. Is a potential song of the year type of song if released as a single at some point.

Loved the Turner and AJ clips. Any fears of Josh loosing his neo-trad sound were clearly unfounded. Might not be as good Haywire, but still, a B or B+ Josh Turner record will still be one the best of the year. And as for AJ, definitely an improvement over Freight Train. You Go Your Way could be AJ's last best shot at a big hit single (assuming they're smart enough to release it).
