What does that have to do with the, "Look At Me" wedding video? ??? Also, that video makes me smile. I also forgot what an amazing song "Look At Me," is. I wish this would have been released instead of a couple of the songs Carrie released instead.

LAM is my favorite song off "Play On". I knew it wasn't going to be a single, but I always wanted it to be one - I truly felt as if it could have earned Carrie MANY awards and critical recognition. I'm glad it's finally getting to see the light of day; it's an excellent song and Carrie's vocal is angelic. I wonder if Carrie's team will capitalize on this free promotion at all?

I was thinking maybe they could share the Youtube link through Carrie's Twitter and Facebook with a link to buy the song... I'm not suggesting a single release or anything, but it'd be interesting if she and her team pay any mind to this at all...

I noticed the video is from Aug 2013. Why the sudden popularity of this video?

And the sales effect is so massive too. I first noticed the spike when I saw LAM at #178 over-all. When maddkat on twitter referred me to the wedding video as the likely cause, the vid was just at 300k+ views. Not as viral as you would think to have that kind of sales spike. And it just keeps going up, even with the vid "just" at 478k+:
Look At Me #70 United States #70 Norway #130 Canada #160 Australia #181 United Kingdom
The numbers geek in me is geekily curious and fascinated, but as a fan, I looove it! LAM is one of my faves from PO and I'm so happy so many others are discovering it.
Also, with thanks to maddkat for posting the link again, here's a snippet of the one and only time Carrie performed LAM:

^ Odd, but no complaints from me either! LOOOOVE the song too! (I kinda hope that one day a director/producer of a film will use this song in the movie and more people will discover this gem totally buried within PO! Yeah, wishful thinking)
P.S. I hope Carrie is aware of that youtube video. So sweet! :')

Carrie's career seems to be the story of undiscovered/hidden gems. The list of "gems" is just about as long as the list of Carrie's hits...

So many gems hidden in Carrie's albums - those who only listen to her singles don't even know what they're missing out on. Play On itself was filled with hidden gems, including "Look At Me," "Someday When I Stop Loving You," and "What Can I Say". Same with Blown Away, with such gems as "Forever Changed," "Wine After Whiskey," "Good in Goodbye," and "Do You Think About Me". Carrie has so many great album tracks that I wish had been singles, or at least performed more often.

I feel like that album has more hidden gems because of that. I actually prefer the non-singles on that album to the singles. However, for Blown Away, other than SYA (which actually really grew on me quite a bit) I think the single choices were perfect. I only would have replaced SYA with Do You Think About Me.

I'll start the next thread as soon as we get some more concrete information (co-write titles, confirmed collaborators, etc.) Sound good? Not as viral as you would think to have that kind of sales spike. And it just keeps going up, even with the vid "just" at 478k+ It's currently sitting at #63 on the all-genre iTunes chart and it has nearly 10 million views on GodTubeâ„¢ (yeah, that exists). This is why she needs to release a Gospel album. The Christians are here for her!

This is exactly how I felt on Carrie's last two albums. "Undo It" and "Mama's Song" were not good single choices IMO. I was pulling for the title track myself. I was not for "See You Again" being the final single at all when I heard it was being released. But man did that song grow on me. By the end of it's chart run I was so glad I was wrong.

If anything, LAM surging on iTunes goes to show the type of music she should be going for on the 5th album.

This is a Carrie Underwood thread but that article does discuss what is wrong with the nominations that are going on.

And that is why it was posted. I thought it was about Justin Moore's nomination. My apologies.

Now that the song is still growing in popularity, I'm not totally against a radio release. It would be interesting to see how the song does without any kind of push; as there's nothing really to promote... It would also be a wonderful thing if people could hear Carrie's beautiful rendition over the radio. In addition, it could help to somewhat fill the quiet lull we're in in Carrie-world. It wouldn't hurt for the label to simply give this a radio adds date; just to see what happens. It would also serve as a pleasant break to the ears from the crap that's currently spinning on country radio.
... I'm reaching here, but this would be a dream come true; LAM on the radio!
