I can't imagine them not doing UI/WTW. I'm sure that collaboration probably played an enormous factor into the organization of this Crossroads, so it's not like they would bypass it.
I'd be curious to see if Carrie could actually do a decent job with Dream On. Not so much the song itself, but the notorious scream at the end of it.

How many songs are typically sung on Crossroads and are they usually half and half from the artist's repertoires?
Also, considering Carrie's hint at working with Steven Tyler, I'm pretty positive the Crossroads will be with him and not Sugar Ray. Carrie's much to big and relevant an artist to be dong a Crossroads with them and CMT knows that. CMT would want a ratings grabber. Even if people aren't nuts over Steven Tyler, I think the idea of hearing Carrie attempting (and as her fans know, excelling) at a Steven Tyler song is a ratings grab in its own right.
We have to remember that most of us are very "in the know" when it comes to artists and their hidden strengths. Other than the "Alone" performances on AI and her duet with Heart, "Home Sweet Home" (which none of these were hardcore or anything), and "Undo It/Walk This Way" (With Steven Tyler at the ACMs), chances are not many people think the pretty 5'3" country singer with the pretty voice (I know it's more than that but for lack of better phrasing...) can own a rock song like Carrie can.
I see Carrie getting a lot of attention and praise for this.

I think last year Faith and The Pretenders performed 8 songs total. Half was from Faith's albums and 4 from The Pretenders.

Wow ... still no news. That May release date is looking more and more likely.

Do singles come out on certain days?
My Birthday is Monday the 30th and a new single would probably be the best gift of my life!

If Carrie doesn't release the damn single next week, I swear to God...
I am pretty stoked for the Crossroads though. And, I don't mind one Sugar Ray song if need be. It would be funny and Carrie slays everything, so I doubt she'd mess up on one of their songs.

^^Add this to the total of Carrie's co-writes and she's been really getting after it. I know you have to write many songs to get a good cross section of what your next album will feel like, but Carrie went on a writing spree that rivals anyone. jmo

Is there any significance to new co-writes popping up this late in the process? Does this mean there's any more chance to these appearing on album 4?

I work at ASCAP, certain publishers and writers will wait until they have verification either of the song being cut or not being cut, or even waiting until the CD drops if it's not the lead off single, before having us put it on the public search site. It's quite possible she could have a CD full of songs that aren't even in the list above.

EW has an article about songs idol hopefuls shouldn't sing and they mention this "(We're looking at all of you who have attempted to top Underwood's ''Alone.'' Tsk tsk." Remember when they used to be haters. <3

I want an acoustic version of Alone to be taken out on the road. I've been desperate to see that one done live by Carrie. Basically, just reprise this performance nightly:

The 'American Idol' Matrix: Why It's Tough to Create a SuperstarI classify previous Idol winners and the occasional runner up lucky enough to get a contract through the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) growth-share matrix, a business tool oft used to classify successful and struggling business units in a company.
The matrix has four categories: Star, Cash Cow, Problem Child, and Dog. Stars make money, Dogs don’t, and the other two exist in purgatory somewhere in between.
STARS
A Star is a performer in a high-growth market with a relatively high share of that market. Stars not only sell lots of albums, but they are also eminently likable and therefore salable across other platforms. They get lots of endorsement and licensing deals. Carrie Underwood is the epitome of a Star. Not only has the diminutive blonde country powerhouse sold more than 11.57 million albums (which gives her a high market share), but her brand strength continues to grow through endorsement and licensing deals, because she is enormously likable. On the Davie Brown Index (DBI) of likability she has a score of 80.57, by far the highest of any Idol contestant. She is also aspirational to her fans, because she cultivates her celebrity. Underwood first played the celebrity dating game by being linked romantically to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford, and in 2010 she married Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher. She is entirely inoffensive and, despite marrying a Canadian, is apple-pie all-American with her blonde hair and blue eyes – which makes her the ideal brand spokeswoman for companies like Vitaminwater and Olay.

Aerofanatic, claiming to have ~inside information, posted this over at CFANS: Sources are indicating that it's entirely *possible* that Carrie will lend her voice to a bona-fide smash country cross over hit to appear on the upcoming Aerosmith album due out in May...
Think What It Takes mashed up with Picture from Rock/Crow.

^ Yeah I posted it back on page 2. I hope it's true. It's weird though that we might be getting news about an Aerosmith single when we don't have a clue what Carrie has in store for her personal album

Vegas radio stations have a new ad running to promote the iHeartRadio iPhone/iPod/iPad [/etc.] app, and Carrie does the voiceover for the ad. The Undo It instrumental plays in the background the whole time. :)
I'll try and record it in the car the next time it comes on, and I'll post the clip here.

^I think I've been hearing that ad for the past several weeks, or at least the Carrie part of it along with Miranda's bit. Is that the one you're talking about? Or is there one with just Carrie? If it's the latter, I haven't heard it yet.

Watching that old Idol performance is pretty amazing. She has improved by leaps and bounds as a performer, but even when she was very green you could see flashes of the star she would become and passion for music.

For those of you who missed American Idol tonight, the Carrie twin's name is Brittany Kerr and she's an NBA dancer. She had a decent voice, and made it through to Hollywood. Although she didn't look like Carrie as much as she did in that one photo. But she's still hot lol.
