Lots of mid-tempos. I love Carrie's mid-tempos, though. She hardly ever releases them as singles. Leave Love Alone has really grown on me. I'm not sure why. It's got a really good beat, I think.

Wow. I did not expect that sound for Blown Away (the song) AT ALL. The song is going to be EPIC!!! I'm not blown away by Two Black Cadillacs clip yet, but since the song is supposed to be a mini movie, I think it's even harder to judge just based on the short clip. I think See You Again sounds better than There's A Place For Us. Thanks, Narnia producers. Judging from the clips alone, my favorite part of the whole album is actually the middle section. Clips 5-11. They are exactly the type of music/production/sound that I want from Carrie for YEARS. THANK YOU CARRIE! <3 The only clips I'm not that crazy about are Cupid and Who Are You. I understand the appeal for Cupid, but it's just not my cup of tea. Right now, my favorite clips are Do You Think About Me, Nobody Ever Told You (I keep coming back to these two lol!)... followed by (in order of tracklisting) Blown Away, Forever Changed, One Way Ticket, Leave Love Alone. Overall, the whole album sounds freakin' fantastic! :o Light years ahead of PO already imo. It's SO WORTH the wait! Also, TOP NOTCH PRODUCTION. Well done, Mark Bright. Finally!

Okay...
Blown Away sounds like such a smash. And can you just picture the music video for it? I'm, like...stunned. This is such an edgy side of Carrie that I've been dying to see. Wine After Whiskey has exceeded what I expected it to sound like after hearing the demo. This could be her ballad hit from this album. Cupid's Got A Shotgun is such a Country radio grand slam. It's a total Miranda Lambert kind of song, but Carrie's vocal abilities rises it to such a higher level. Leave Love Alone, to my surprise, was one of my favorite clips in the set. It was the chorus, but it sounds like such a fun song, and I wouldn't be opposed to it getting a single release, to be honest. Two Black Cadillacs and See You Again both sound very strong, and based off of what we've heard, I could see those getting AC releases.
Every song on here, based on the clips we've heard, sounds promising, and I'm thrilled that my expectations were topped. After hearing the clips, Good Girl was clearly the right choice for the record's lead single, too.

The sampler sounds interesting! "Cupid's Got A Shotgun" sounds like something off of Miranda Lambert's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend album which pleases me since I'm a fan of that record.

"One Way Ticket" is a smash waiting to happen. It's Carrie meets ZBB meets Sugarland meets Kenny Chesney.
All these songs are incredible! I know it's early to judge based on clips, but honestly, I don't remember being this excited for the other albums when hearing the clips. I find a smile on my face once every single clip starts. I'll wait to fully review/critique until I hear the full tracks. For now;
"Blown Away" - A smash... that's all, the production is simply epic. "Two Black Cadillacs" - Sounds like a story, an intriguing, epic story. Sounds very promising. "See You Again" - Sounds sort of inspirational, not sure if it's about a break-up or death... But again, very promising "Do You Think About Me" - the first "simple" song, no crazy production or vocals. "Forever Changed" - Sounds incredibly touching, Carrie's vocal in the clip brought tears to my eyes. Can't wait to hear the full song. "Nobody Ever Told You" - Reminds me of "Crazy Dreams", not the message, but the overall presentation of the song. "One Way Ticket" - very catchy, I said some words above in regards to the song. It's perhaps the song I'm most excited about, as it's the most different from anything Carrie has ever done imo. Very tropical sounding, perfect summer song. "Thank God For Hometowns" - Very sweet, pretty simple arrangement, sounds promising. "Good in Goodbye" - Sounds sort of sad, but inspirational. "Leave Love Alone" - Carrie meets Reba meets Miranda meets Kellie Pickler... very Country. "Cupid's Got A Shotgun" - Miranda-esqu... sound catchy and fun. "Wine After Whiskey" - Very impressive clip, wonderful vocal, and we all know the story. Can't wait to hear this in full. "Who Are You" - Sounds like a love song, but I could see it being about faith as well. Not sure, but seems like a great closer to the album.
Overall, SUPER impressed by the clips. I'm very excited for this, and I strongly feel this will be Carrie's best album critically and success-wise. Probably not the sales of SH, but it seems as if they're shooting for somewhere around that level. The quality of the songs seems superb, the lyrics are fascinating and intriguing - truly leaving you wanting more. The production level seems perfect (nothing over the top). Her vocals sound impeccable, and she emotes every song perfectly.
This is based on the clips and obviously subject to change. But first impressions say a lot, and I certainly feel this is the best "first impression" I've had with a Carrie Underwood album. I don't think the album is being over-hyped at all. Carrie has every reason to feel the way she feels about this album. She's truly putting out a masterpiece.

The sound and production of these clips caught me completely off guard. Fan-freaking-tastic! I'm probably the only one who's loving "Nobody Ever Told You".

I gotta hear the full song but I'm not yet blown away by Blown Away. I'm actually iffy on the overall feel of the first few songs. It's not until Do You Think About Me that I start to feel the cd and at that point it gets really good to me. I can't wait to hear the full cd. It sounds great.

Who Are You sounds straight up Gospel. I don't mind it but it stands out big time, but being the closer I guess that is OK.
Blown Away sounds so different, very curious to see how radio embraces it and to hear the whole thing. I got a ColdPlay vibe from some of the clips. I think this album really went in a new direction as far as Production. Some of the songs are pure country and some seem misplaced on a country album with the one saving grace being Carrie's voice.

NO BOY-BASHING SONGS!!! Carrie is all grown up. Good Girl. But only one is a great step forward... Of course it being the lead single meant to represent and sell the album may have been a half step back, or so. Got to be honest, GG scared me... and I honestly think it's the least impressive song of the bunch.

With these new subjects and sounds in her songs, do anyone still believe that country radio will keep sending her singles to the top 2 or top 3? I've seen some very talented artists put out more creative material and ended up sacrificing commercial success a little bit, but I hope Carrie doesn't have to suffer through it much, if at all. Just a thought I had. I really love the clips, though, and can't wait to get my hands on that album.

^ I actually think we're seeing that with GG. I started thinking this might happen after Undo It. I am a huge Carrie Fan and love all the clips but who knows how Country Radio will respond.

I would rather have Carrie push herself and the topics she sings about even if it means she doesn't get to the top of the charts

As long as a songs catchy, with her name attached it, I don't see why they wouldn't go to the top. I do see the concern, and perhaps we're seeing this with "Good Girl" (although it's still too early to tell). I really think Country radio will embrace this, though.

To hear Carrie in her recent radio interview talk about how the writers of the song Blown Away actually wrote it with her in mind to sing it makes me want to hear the whole song NOW:P

I think Blown Away the song while certainly a different sound, is much more Country in theme than Good Girl and I feel the whole CD based on those snippets is that way.

What I especially love about the clips, is the fact that so many songs sound like songs she's hasn't done before, especially ''Blown Away'', ''Two Black Cadillacs'', ''See You Again'', ''Nobody Ever Told You'', ''One Way Ticket'', ''Leave Love Alone'' and ''Cupid's Got a Shotgun''. I absolutely love the clips of ''Thank God for Hometowns'' and ''Wine After Whiskey'' too.
Some pretty clever lyrics just in the clips. The production is also a huge step forward imo.

I understand your concern, and while these are only brief clips of the songs, which, by the way I think are out of this world and I truly love them all...what I wanted to ask is: do these samples sound more or less country than say Taylor Swift, Lady A. Sugarland, Jason A....

However, Sugarland's new stuff really wasn't accepted by Country Radio this time around with the exception of Stuck Like Glue which to me was different but good. To me GG is less Country than anything in the Country top 40 right now and less Country than anything those Artists have put out.

OWT sounds fun and all, but based on those 30 seconds, it can stay as an album track. I say that because of the vacation/beach feel of the song. Radio would drool over a song like this. You may not like it, but an average listener would take to this like they take to any Kenny or ZBB song. Catchy, sing-along type song, perfect for car rides and such. It's a mega-hit. I know it!
