'Hair' as her 6th & final single from "Born This Way." If I worked at Interscope Records and had the almighty power to pick singles, I'd choose "Hair" as the sixth and final single from "Born This Way."
The song already peaked at No. 12 in its only week on the Hot 100 last June as a preview digital track from the album but has not made its way to the radio-listening masses. Co-written by Gaga and RedOne, the song, which has sold 174,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and whose audio video on the official LadyGagaVEVO channel stands at 11 million views, just sounds like a smash, doesn't it? The pair also co-wrote the set's second single, "Judas."
If "Hair" remains an album cut, it'll join that bittersweet group of great songs that were never released as radio singles. Gaga has already has two others, by my humble count:
-"Boys Boys Boys," also a Gaga/RedOne co-write and - "Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)," another song from "The Fame" that showcases more of her bubblegum pop side.www.billboard.com/column/chartbeat#/column/chartbeat/ask-billboard-what-should-lady-gaga-s-next-1005958952.storyWhat do you guys think?

Hair has always seemed like one of the obvious smash hits of the album to me, it should've been released following Edge of Glory.
I understand why a lot of people aren't crazy about it - it's a terribly cheesy song, but the public would eat it up.

I'm kind of over Hair and can't see it doing any better than Marry The Night. It probably wouldn't even make Top 20 at radio. I feel like right now, there's too much going on at radio for GaGa to be able to break through with current material. I wouldn't say there's been an overload but I feel like there's a slight backlash against her right now and Hair is signature GaGa style, but the kind that people might not care for because it's too serious*, despite being a rather fluffy pop song (as far as fluffy goes on BTW). Unfortunately, I think GaGa would need a less-serious, hard-hitting but still smart and clever pop song to win over radio again. I think she'd have less to lose releasing Scheiße if she released anything as a 6th single.
*by serious, I mean it's too GaGa taking herself seriously. Though I do love Hair and think it's perfectly fit for radio, I don't think radio would care for it at this time.

I like "Hair," but I don't know if the public would. I think that it's cheesy, definitely, but that adds to the charm.

Gaga needs a break at this point.

I thought Hair should've been a single from the start. Best song on the album tbqh.
Although as this era continues to go downhill, I feel like releasing it isn't as important anymore, because its chances of being a hit are severely compromised at this point.

Even though it might flop, I just want something from GaGa to be released to radio.

I do agree it's cheesy & kind of a fan fave, but I think it's too late to release it now. Like Max said, Gaga has been too serious this era & Pop radio has lost their interest in her b/c she hasn't released the fun, Gaga-ish songs. I say release 'Scheiße' & call it quits. I'm pretty sure she release again w/this new tour.

Is she performing at The Grammy's? If not this era kind of feels like it's sizzled out. This is the case in the US. Mabey not WW. I guess if she's doing 1 more WW single why not throw it out there in the US to. MTN already severly underperformed so it wouldn't be her 1st flop.

She needs to stop releasing the obvious, more polished, tracks to radio and release something left-of-field that reflects the eccentric personality she has been tirelessly depicting in public settings.
That's the reason why "Marry The Night" underachieved. It was one in a string of consecutive releases that sounded more conventional, where Stefania sounded just like everyone else largely in mirroring her influences. Why should listeners care after a while?
I think it would have served her better to have made a more gutsy move and release "Heavy Metal Lover", for instance, at the time. As I've already stated before, I'm well-aware, on the surface, it doesn't strike you as a radio track. Then again, what constitutes a "radio track" regularly evolves, and either way you look at the track, it gets the attention of many through its lyrical one-liners and aggressive wall of sound alone. It gets people talking. And sometimes, simply capturing the attention of a pool of listeners is enough to translate that curiosity into a commercial hit.
I honestly think this sort of move would pay off for Lady Gaga. She needs to tap into that vein again instead of repeatedly aping idols like Whitney Houston and Madonna.
Namaste, lisping HIBISCUS

I don't see this besting its original peak of #12. This could have worked earlier, but I just think the interest in this project is sapped, and releasing the most obvious choice isn't going to help.

Edited: Read the title wrong. Hair is one of the best single choices left on the album, imo.

IMO, it's the only song that has a chance to break out. If "Hair" were meant to be a big single, it would've sold more upon release (TEOG was basically released as a iTunes-only thing but did really well) and after performances on Thanksgiving special, etc. "Schieße" is the crazy BR/PF Gaga that IMO, needs to show her face.

I've said from the beginning that Hair should AT LEAST be a Club Only single and it looks like, from the slew of bootleg mixes that have surfaced for this track over the past week, that others agree.
I hope that Interscope commissions some serious remixes and gets her a #1 on the dance chart where this song belongs.

Gaga's remix packages have been terrible this era so I'm not getting my hopes up on "Hair".

If you can get past the absurdist lyrics, Hair is easily the catchiest song on the album. Not that that is saying much.
