For examples :
1. Ricky Martin : after his coming out, his albums flop.
2. That country girl singer (Brad Paisley's ex) : after her coming out, her album flopped too. She was quiet a successful singer before and had 2 times platinum album.
3. Sir Elton John :the same with Ricky martin. But people still pay to watch him live tho.
The only exception is Adam Lambert but his album/singles charted because of the AI. His second album will determine his fate in music.
While in Movie/TV business, Gay people seem to find success. Ellen, Chris Cofler, (the man from How i met your mother - i forgot his name), etc.
What do you think?

Ricky Martin was flopping outside of the Latin markets long before he ever came out. It actually generated the most interest in him that he had in years. Chely Wright had one major Country hit in her entire career and it was over a decade before she came out.
Elton John had a number of major hits after he came out as gay (nevermind the fact he was out as bisexual for years before that).
The real issue is that many singers have not come out as gay until they were long over to begin with and the coming out actually did more to get them back in the press than kill their career.

This isn't a very fair argument... all of these people listed peaked in popularity long before they came out anyways.

2. That country girl singer (Brad Paisley's ex) (the man from How i met your mother - i forgot his name) Really. Chely Wright was never really extremely successful. Your numbers were incorrect, she has only ever had one Gold album. She only ever had one top-ten single. She only ever had three top-twenty singles. I love her very much, but her career was gone long before she ever came out.

I'd say George Michael is another example, but that had more to do with what happened in a public bathroom.

That and there are plenty of successful homosexual singers. They aren't topping the charts but they're doing quiet well relative to their genre and audience. I'm sure we can all contribute some examples.
Tegan & Sara Brandi Carlile Melissa Etheridge had her most successful era after she came out and continued to be big for a few years after, and that was in the 90s. Indigo Girls
The Elton John example doesn't really work either considering he's been around for decades. I forget when he came out, exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was before I started listening to music so he has had a few pop hits since then. I would attribute his lack of pop success to age and output rather than him being gay. Plus, as you said, he's more of a live act rather than recording artist at this point.

What's a "homesexual"?
In all seriousness, I do see your point. Why is it that homosexuals struggle in the music business? I never really thought about this...
I honestly don't have an answer to the question. Sure there are a few exceptions, but still. The majority of Gay musicians fall through the cracks, so to speak. I wonder why?

I'd say George Michael is another example, but that had more to do with what happened in a public bathroom. It also has to do with how his career was handled after that. His Older album which was released a couple of years before that incident already had considerably less success in the US than his previous two albums. Not to mention, the album before Older (Listen Without Prejudice) was considered a commercial disappointment following Faith. So basically he was going downhill for years already. He took an 8 year break before he released a new album of original material after Older. His first single after the incident, "Outside," was a disco influenced dance song and the entire music video alluded to the restroom incident. It became a major hit in the UK, but there was no shot in hell the song was going to be a hit in the US (even without the incident and the music video). He basically stopped catering to the US after the incident moreso than the US rejecting him.

I forget when he came out, exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was before I started listening to music so he has had a few pop hits since then. 1989. He had a couple dozen major Adult Contemporary hits after that (and that's a format with a conservative listenership) and major Hot 100 hits with songs like the live version of "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me," "The One," "Can You Feel The Love Tonight," and obviously "Something About The Way You Look Tonight/Candle In The Wind 1997". He's also a massive draw when he goes on tour.

Throughout the history of music there have actually been many commercially successful bisexual artists, Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga, and Bille Joe Armstrong to name a few. In the eyes of the general public I would believe their opinions do not differ between homosexuals and bisexuals. It is that and I believe that not as much attention is attributed to the individuals of a group and that female biseuxals seem to be less of a big deal, by some conventional societal norm. It just seems to be a recurring fact that either these artists just, generally, tend to not be completely homosexual or choose to not disclose their homosexuality to the public. Clearly some correlation exists between homosexuality and artist interest because such information does impact album and single sales, and I would attribute it to the certain stigma that I see on a regular basis and that people may feel more insecure listening to a gay artist within predominantly homophobic or anti-homosexual communities (although I won't attribute this to all areas of American society, there does exist a significant portion of American populations that do and will socially marginalize homosexuals), for social reasons as well as simply the discrimination that arises for the artist based on their sexual orientation.
Now I will say with the massive growing acceptance of homosexuality we should see artists become more comfortable with coming forward but at the moment I am certain there are many closeted musical artists who will not for the exact reasons I stated above. Hopefully society will be able to reach a peak where artists will be able to express their sexuality without the fear of negative (and stupid) effects on their careers.

Also the biggest issue is the fact that we're talking about singers "coming out" because, with the exception of Adam Lambert, major labels in the US aren't even signing mainstream gay artists (and technically, Adam didn't publicly discuss his sexual orientation until after he was signed).
This is a bigger issue concerning the perceived marketability of openly gay pop artists. Views of homosexuality in the US are not yet positive enough for labels to be confident that an artist's sexual orientation is not going to hinder their commercial appeal.

^There's also the issue of how male pop stars are marketed - their fanbases tend to consist of women who are drawn to said artist's sex appeal above all else. It's hard for that to still be a draw when they discover their idol learned to dance so well by voguing in the mirror - the fantasy is shattered.

Well, I mean, it doesn't stop Darren Criss from being a very popular part of Glee.
Gay men will have to be marketed a certain way just as much as straight men.

Oh yeah, good point.
Mario Vazquez was the last pop artist I remember trying to make noise, but he didn't get anywhere either. He also didn't make his sexuality known, though.
Interesting topic.

k.d. lang also comes to mind. She was somewhat successful at one point, but her music was never very commercial and she didn't really try to make it that way either. She came out publicly before she had her brief U.S. success. She got a lot of attention again a few years ago when she performed Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Straight women find Adam hella sexy. I hear it all the time. It's the way he carries himself, the rockstar quality, the hint of danger, it's sexy regardless of who he goes to bed with. It's great that some people don't let an artist's sexual orientation define the way they enjoy them.

I think sometimes people are afraid to "come out" directly while they're still in the musical spotlight (Darren Hayes of Savage Garden, George Michael, Freddie Mercury, etc.) - I feel like it's the same way with actors

THIS. I could care less who Adam sleeps with; he is confident and self-assured and damn it shows. One of my best friends in high school thought he was the sexiest dude alive on Idol and I never understood why. Then I heard him in interviews and saw him perform..if "Adam Lambert" isn't the definition of charisma, I don't know what is. Something about his is magnetic, and it's sexy as hell.

It must be a straight female thing, because I find Adam completely disgusting and repulsive.

I don't think there is any real evidence the gay singers are not successful. There are many examples of ones that do succeed. It's dam tough to breakout as an artist no matter who you are. The one thing do notice is that when a gay artist doesn't succeed, people automatically jump to conclusions that it's because of their sexual orientation.

I can answer that, once I find out what is an homesexual. A homesexual is an individual male or female who engages in sexual relations with houses, apartments, trailers, igloos, etc.

Any gay singers who have not succeeded has nothing to do with their sexual orientation. If Adam Lambert doesn't have a major era this go around you can bet people will focus on his sexual orientation as a major reason instead of any number of other reasons.

As far as I can see it, there are generally other reasons for lack of success, as others have pointed out.
I think Adam Lambert's music is mediocre at best, so I'd be sooner to fall back on that as an explanation why he hasn't done so brilliantly. I also find him really off-putting as a person, to be honest.
There's definitely a stigma that needs to be erased, but that's true across the board - I can't actually think of a recent gay male artist who produced anything that was particularly good. Figures like Elton and Freddie Mercury made good music, and Elton in particular had a Gaga-esque image, something that couldn't be missed. i know things are a bit different nowadays, but I think it's a point to consider... I really can't think of anyone.
