That preview on Amazon is gone. So that must have been the finished product, which makes sense cuz the drums sounded better, and more polished. Can't wait to see what this b!tch has in store for us Sunday!!!!!!!

If the rumors are true I seriously doubt the Rihanna/Katy song will ever be released.

Trash.
Sounds like a leftover from Teenage Dream to be honest.
It'll probably be a Top 10 hit just off strong first week digital sales, but I dont see it smashing like the first four singles from TD.

The melody is almost identical to "Till The World Ends." I know they were probably written around the same time, but still...
I imagine it'll be a decent sized hit.

Haha, from the very 1st time I heard Til the World Ends, I thought it sounded really similar to this. Especially at the beginning. I've been jamming to this demo for so long, it will be nice to finally have a finished quality. I'm expecting the quality of TTWE!

I really think she is on the verge of overexposure, just because there is so little versitility in her music. Re-releasing with new music so soon just weeks after the 6th single from a nearly two year old album may be a bad move.
We shall see...

I don't blame them for releasing a song that sounds like most of the TD singles or the could have been on TD TTWE. People are STILL eating up that sound as evidenced by Domino and The One That Got Away. If people are still lapping it up why not? I am curious to see what her next cd will sound like. I am assuming it will go in a slightly different direction of some sort. That excites me more than this re-release even though the re-release is probably a good financial decision.

there is so little versitility in her music. Every single from the past era has sounded somewhat different. I mean, each one was the same form of mindless pop, but you cannot say that "E.T." sounded identical to "California Gurls."

you people don't understand. It's all about releasing the final Dr. Luke singles before their contract is up. Yes, the songs sound similar to TD. They are supposed to. They are from the same period. Why is it so hard to understand? Breaking records or not, it all makes perfect sense to me. Just watch Part of Me go triple platinum and be another #1 on CHR.

This pales in comparison to her other hits from "Teenage Dream," but it's obviously going to the Top 10. I don't see it going to #1 unless she does extensive promo for it...then again, knowing Capitol, that's what they'll do.

Haven't heard this yet so I'm looking forward to listening to a final product which will be completely fresh for most of the public. The song's sales have the potential to be great since it will be the first single from her in a while to not be on the TD album. TOTGA suffered in sales because it was 6th single from an album that had been for a couple years. I have high expectations for this. :) Pop radio is still embracing Katy seeing as she just got her 7th consecutive number one on the format. Even though I would have preferred a new album I see why they're sending a couple more singles to radio from this era. :)

Very excited for this, but I still would prefer a new album or an EP to a re-release.

I find it very odd that people want Katy to wait a year to release new material but they're okay with 6 years of straight Rihanna with no break?
And who cares if its the same album, its quality music.
'Part of Me' is amazing, a little bit of a half-baked Teenage dream but its perfect for the climate.

Is there a way for this to count towards teenage dream...I saw the billboard article but if her team just nixes last Friday nights lame remix with missy and et's meh remix with kanye would she be eligible for the 3 songs (part of me, dressing up and the other) to chart as a td release.

Seems a bit basic from the snippet, hoping the full version sounds a bit better.
In other news, "I Kissed a Girl" just got 18+'d on youtube after 4 years...

I don't care about the "Last Friday Night" remix, but they need to include the "E.T." remix. I don't mind if it's even instead of the original version, but it would make no sense to exclude it.

They should really make her next single be the first single off a new album. Teenage Dream is almost two years old and a re-release is really flogging a dead horse at this point. This. This song is really weak. It's the first single from this project that's actually bad. Sounds like a regression to her last album and like it's a leftover. The Teenage Dream project went rather flawlessly and now it's starting to feel cheapened and desperate.

So apparently this single won't count as part of Teenage Dream? Billboard has reported that this will not count towards Teenage Dream, but towards The Confection (the re-release). So her record with MJ stays tied.

Which is ridiculous, and shady on Billboard's part. Especially, since Usher was able to do the same thing and they consider his stuff from one album even though it's technically from two.
