I'm not really a big fan of Dark Side, and don't really see huge potential in it. I think the song will be propelled a bit higher than it would be otherwise simply because of success of 'Stronger'. To me, it sounds like a Disney Channel theme song to a movie involving a music box that probably would've been sung by Taylor Swift, haha. I have no idea why. I stand by my #8 CHR/Pop, #14 Hot 100 peaks.
I am hoping 'Let Me Down,' and 'The War Is Over' are the final singles.

I see this performing similarly to Already Gone, which would be fantastic. I just can't see it doing better~ I'd love to be wrong though!
Top 15 Hot 100 Top 5 CHR (lbr if IDNHU could go top 10 (9?) this will surely exceed that. Easily.) #1 Hot AC

I'm glad that we're not all predicting this to smash; it just makes it that much more satisfying when it inevitably does.

I'm really hoping for success similar to Beyonce's Halo. Slow start, but huge longevity. I remember hearing it every single day on Z100. Where did that peak on CHR? Wiki says it peaked at #2 on CHR and #5 on Billboard Hot 100. It would be amazing if Kelly could match this level of success.

If Kelly puts promo into this, I think it will surpass MKIA easily - aka, better than top ten BB, top ten CHR, #1 HOT AC and better than 1.5 million - I bet there is some summer sng sales rush effect too. And if i could characterize this as anything, I would call is a anthem/ballad mix - strong (and new!) relatable message that is not as unpopular as IDNHU - most similar to Breakaway/AG I guess. Cant decide which is closer because it really is unique. If it performs in either ballpark, I'll be quite pleased.

I did not realize that there is a Pop thread for 'Dark Side' already until just now ! If you are interested in voting on it's sales in the Polling Booth, click here.

If this song gets pushed to top 40 within 2 weeks my guess is #1 Pop #3 Hot 100 and #1 HAC
If this song gets pushed later than that my guess is #5 Pop #10 Hot 100 and #3 HAC
My reasoning behind this is that only Adele and Gotye has a shot for #1 that are below the top 15, timing is everything here, because there will be a huge summer smash release soon that could come out of nowhere and topple the top 40.

Rihanna's Where Have You Been is coming in May and that will fly to #1. This needs to come out soon or I think she will get passed by Rihanna. However, I don't know that this is supposed to go to #1 on CHR anyway so I am not going to sit and cry about who she is up against. The song is good enough to get very high on its own, at least Fun and Gotye are already out there because those are two "out of nowhere" smashes that almost no one can compete with, IMO.

Bah. I cannot get into this song no matter how hard I try. And it's a shame because I know in my mind that there is nothing wrong with it. It's well produced, great vocals, and I like the darker lyrics. So why do I still hate it?

I don't like this much. "Let Me Down" is so much better. It just sounds like a #1 hit, mostly due to its epic production.

DS seems to have people who love it or simply dont. From what Ive read more love it, so based on overall feedback theres no reason it shouldnt be some kind of sizeable hit (if not more). I just think its meh. I'll prob. never turn it off the radio (like when MYIA comes on lol) cause I love Kelly and hearing her on the radio, but the production is what doesnt work for me. Its too bland and Disney like. Though I think due to the fact that WDKY hit so hard, out of the gate the song should easily surpass AG. DS is actually a much better song that should connect with more people. Im just let it be a big enough hit, keep the albums sales steady, then plzzzz bring on LET ME DOWN! Thats like the IICHY or DLMSY from AIEW- songs that were def. hits but they fcked up and werer never released

I keep saying this is like her "Perfect" by P!nk which imo didnt have the strongest chorus but the lyrics and buildup to the chorus/hook made it work. DS I think may or may not connect with people the same way. Im 50/50 on its success at this point. But if you look on You Tube majority of the comments are positive and she has minimal thumbs down.

Besides the bridge, this is pretty uneventful.
I think it's the first Kelly single I haven't really cared much for in her entire career.

I think the comparisons of LMD and DLMSY are spot on and there is a reason DLMSY was never released as a single despite going 4 deep for AIEW. They won't be releasing LMD this era unless they go 5 deep and even then it has very little chance.

They made a major mistake by not releasing 'Don't Let Me Stop You,' and they will make another major mistake by not releasing 'Let Me Down'.

I wouldn't be shocked to see "Let Me Down" next--- in fact, I think it's a near-dead tie between that and "I Forgive You" at this point in time. Both have slots on the tour, both have been well-received by the public, both have Kelly's typical pop/rock signature. I think it will come down to how well "Dark Side" does, and incidentally that is what we're all here to observe, instead of having 4th single discussions before this one even has an adds date. ;)

Wasn't 'Let Me Down' originally supposed to be the first single anyways? I could definitely see it pulling a 'Marry The Night' and being the next, or last single.

Honestly, I can't see this missing the top 5. And I don't think it'll be a slow climber either.

Even though LMD is a billion times better than god-awful DLMSY, they're not what I think Kelly should be releasing for singles. DLMSY is just horrid. Wasn't 'Let Me Down' originally supposed to be the first single anyways? I could definitely see it pulling a 'Marry The Night' and being the next, or last single. No, MKIA was always the first single. And I don't understand what a forgotten flop like Marry The Night has to do with you wanting Let Me Down to be the next single? Pulling a MTN isn't a good thing for a song you want to be a single.

Pulling a MTN isn't a good thing for a song you want to be a single. I think the Marry the Night reference was because MTN was supposed to be single #1, but ended up being the 5th and final single. Since he thought Let Me Down was supposed to be single #1 as well, he could see it being a single later on, maybe even last. I don't think he meant anything about the chart run, though.

That was my point..

Well obviously I didn't, I don't follow Gaga religiously. Regardless, I think both of those songs weren't first singles for a reason. I don't hear smash potential in LMD and didn't hear it for MTN.
Anyways, my predictions for Dark Side... Top 5 Pop radio Top 10 Hot 100 Top 3 Hot AC
Hopefully we get word of a video shoot/adds date/official announcement soon, I suspect the video will be shot shortly after the tour wraps up next week.

I need an adds date like now! Hopefully for a mid-May release. May 14/15 seems perfect. Both pop and hot AC at the same time, please!
