D. I didn't like that live performance AT ALL. Anyway, there's potential for the song. Hopefully the studio version is way better than this.

F.
Leona and this new electro-pop sound she's trying to mold herself into just isn't working.

I love love love her, but she just doesn't seem to have a voice for big dance production. I'm actually quite surprised since most women with large voices tend to mesh well with the right dance production. I don't know. Maybe she just hasn't found the right production fit for her voice besides ballads. It's okay though so "C".

OMFG AAAAAAAAAA! *shaking on the floor*
The performance was pretty terrible, but the song itself sounds fucking epic! I NEED the studio version now!

A. I hear no flaw in that, and I'm looking forward to hearing the studio version.

Big vocal divas need the "fierce factor" to really sell a dance song. Otherwise, it's like a kitten attempting a tiger growl.

I feel like studio version is going to be epic. The production sounds like it could be amazing on the studio version.

All the big female singers have something pretty distinctive about their voice. You hear one bar and you know who it is. Leona on the other hand has some many borrowed parts that her vocal style comes across as pretty unremarkable. She always sounds like she's imitating a singer rather than owning the song. She can't inflect or transition as well as Mariah, her voice isn't as strong as Christina nor it doesn't sound half as melodic as Whitney and most importantly, she lacks texture. Without it and force blending all those styles, makes her voice sound bland and tepid. She really hasn't found herself yet

This could do well overseas, but I don't see much chance of her ever having major US success again

It's abysmal. I expected nothing less from her.

I didn't think she could get any worse than "Collide"... then I listened to that.

So now the studio version is out, has anyone changed their mind?
P.S: I realise there wasn't a retract button, my bad. So comment if you change your mind :)

I like Leona's voice, but this is so, so terrible.
I hate it when talented female singers can't get a hit, so they all move to electro-dance pop. Leona's first album was really good, and I think she should've stuck with a similar style, instead of selling herself short like this.
I also agree that her voice, while good, isn't very distinct because she sounds like she's imitating her idols. It's irritating to see so many great female singers go down the same road and continue to fail.

A+
It's definitely one of the best tracks from Glassheart and could very well do some tread on the charts. In general it's one of the best songs she has ever recorded.

Leona's first album was really good, and I think she should've stuck with a similar style, instead of selling herself short like this. "Come Alive" is not generic electro-dance pop though. "Come Alive" is a lot different (sonically and vocally) to any Katy Perry/Rihanna/Ke$ha/Usher/Chris Brown/Nicki Minaj electro-pop song. It has a real edge to it. Also, you'll find that most of the album isn't anything like this. She has two electro-dance styled songs; "Glassheart" and "Come Alive". Everything else tends to be more Pop/R&B orientated. She just wanted to experiment a bit on the album.

This is not generic at all. Yes, it's dance-pop so fits in much better to pop radio, but it has many dubstep and other elements that 99% of dance music on the radio doesn't have.
It's amazing, flawless, etc. A+ her best song on the album, best song I've heard of hers for sure.

It does sound generic to me. Not in a Katy/Kesha/Gaga way, but it sounds like a lot of the random dance remixes you would find as extras on cd singles or in the random Itunes dance remixes people release. It isn't horrible, but it isn't my favorite from her.

I much prefer Glass Heart to this, along with Unlove Me, and mostly everything on the album for that matter. This just seems like a bad attempt to chase mainstream.

Personally, this is the greatest thing she's ever done (Outta My Head, step a-f**king-side) and I would LOVE to see it become a single because it's really that epic.
